OK I want to change my review… I’m now addicted to the Kale salad, the crab cakes, and of course the Karma popsicles… There’s also a caramel nut bar in the fridge that is to DIE for. It’s like raiding the fridge of a really good chef– everything tastes homemade, everything IS homemade, and one of the ladies is from New Orleans… yes, she can make a killer Remoulade !!! Everyone gets a little spooked by Kale salad, but the one here is amazing. My 7 year old grabs a fork and digs in on this one. We inhale the crabcakes when we get them.

This place has the best take out on the island. Gourmet soups and fresh seafood that they will steam for free. Perfect for an outing’s picnic lunch. The owner is a former restauranteur and knows her stuff.

Staying the week in AMI and stumbled upon the Island Fresh Market. We are visiting from Illinois and long for fresh seafood and this place was just what we would have hoped to find. Yes small selection but fish was top notch along with some other local finds like the key lime pie popsicle (Karma Pops). If you are a fan of fresh seafood, this is the place!

Stopped in with my mom to check out what they had and ended up getting a piece of their key lime pie to share. Let me just say — we should have gotten TWO pieces. It was, hands down, the best key lime pie I’ve ever had — fresh and tart and so creamy… I wish I had more right now!

Stopped in to check out their offerings of fresh fish. What a lovely spot, right on Anna Maria Island very close to our rental.
We bought a piece of fresh red snapper, crab/​corn chowder (that the owner had just finished making, it was still warm), small container of their «smoked fish spread» and one piece of their key lime pie.
All I can say is that we will be returning. The fish was so fresh & lovely. The soup, delicious (& I am a soup snob), the fish spread ~ awesome not too smoky w/​just the right seasonings, not over-​powering. Served them on some very thin rosemary crackers and I had to refrain myself from eating the slice of pie and not sharing it w/​my husband.

Island Fresh Market has a great selection of fresh seafood items, specialty spices, condiments and more. They have fudge and vegan fudge too, which looked really tasty. We bought the freshly made crab cakes, organic tomatoes and black seaweed salad. We pan fried the crab cakes for dinner and they were very moist and full of flavor! We LOVED their crab cakes! They went well with freshly squeezed lemon juice drizzled on them and a little cocktail or tarter sauce.
Tip: bring a cooler to keep your seafood cold in your hot car ride home.
I look forward to going there again and picking up more crab cakes and seeing what other great food they have! We were also told they have organic vegetables delivered every Wednesday (call to double check this in advance though).
