Great place. I loved the ceviche. The service is very attentive and the owner seems to be present at all times which shows you they care.

Been here 2 times now and have to say my wife and I are very pleased with the food and ambiance of the restaurant. So far our favorites are the Ceviche, Lomo Saltoado, and Ahi De Gallina. The aguadito de pollo is very tasty as well. Very clean restuarant and in a nice shopping center.

Definitely recommend this place. Their food is very good. Fast service and you can tell it’s made to order. This is our second time here and we love it. Just moved in to the area so I know we will be back on a regular.

First of all let me start by saying our experience at this restaurant was a 10+; exceptional! My wife had the Lomo saltado and I had the Pescao al lo Macho. Both really good top quality. The service was amazing! Our waiter was extremely attentive. Highly recommended!

In the neighborhood. Have passed it many times and decided to stop. I am not sure if I have ever had Peruvian food but I thought I’d give it a try Bright, clean and a nice feeling when you walk in. Very friendly staff. I also only see one waiter but he was doing fine. While I was there only three tables were occupied I ordered red sangria and a diet coke. The sangria was not what I was use to. It wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t order it again when the drinks were delivered they brought corn nuts to snack on– really tasty I ordered the ceviche appetizer Delicious!!! There were three sauces. All three were very good but my favorite was the lime sauce This can be shared by two people or more. I was alone and couldn’t finish it originally was going to order something else but didn’t realize how big it would be. I would come back and try other menu items

We actually ate here two months ago and forgot to do a review BUT I have photos and want to share our experience. We went for lunch and the service was good as well as the restaurant looked clean. We each ordered the trio sampler of Ceviche in the different sauces and LOVED it. I requested additional hot spice and they delivered. I also got the strawberry Guava FRESHMADE drink and it was the perfect accompaniment with the Ceviche! Overall the price was good for the portions, but they needed a side of Yucca/sweet potato or something starchy to balance out the meal as we have had at other Ceviche places. They were very helpful with making sure my friend did not get any shellfish but was able to get the same portions and experience without any allergic reaction!

I just left the gym and I was in the mood for some Peruvian for lunch, I didn’t feel like driving to Panchamanka on Hollywood Beach so I headed down to my 2nd option Miceala. Unfortunately for me they were closed for a private event, so I decided to knock off one of my bookmarks and head to near-by Waykuna. Anytime I try a new Peruvian spot, I always order the same thing Pollo Saltado and Chicha Morada. I told the waiter not to put any green garnish on my food as I react bad to parsley or cilantro. There was only two filled tables in the whole restaurant including myself, but for some odd reason it took them 20 minute’s to bring out my food. STRIKE1) When I saw the food, I said to the genius,” I told you no garnish”. Genius waiter replied, «I know but the chef… blah blah blah.» I blanked out everything dude said after that. Dude just dropped the plate and walked off. STRIKE2) The fries were luke warm, they literally had no heat on them at all. STRIKE3) The chicken’s texture was hard & tasteless, it looked like stale chicken nuggets. STRIKE4) I wasn’t brought any Peruvian pepper. STRIKE5) the rice looked like they just plopped it on the plate, it was malformed. I was so annoyed by the genius waiter and the crappy food I didn’t even try my ATF Chicha Morada, I just left it untouched After I forced myself to eat 75% of this crap, I just wanted to leave. But the employee’s wanted me to stay. I mean if they wanted me to leave they wouldn’t all about 6 of them be behind the counter either jacking off with their smart phones or having intimate convo with each other. I actually got up walked to the register and paid, then left.

Went on a Saturday night and there was 3 other people there, strangely cause the food was GREAT… ceviche was super tasty and made well with fresh tasting seafood, pretty big portion too! Also ordered the parihuela and needless to say, I had like 3 spoonfuls and was full from the ceviche(I needed and missed having seafood, specially Peruvian!) My friend had the Arroz Chaufa which I tried too and it was exactly the way it should be! Portions were quite generous… when I’m back in the area, I’ll be sure to go back!

This place was an AMAZING find. It is located in a simple strip-mall. The outside is bland but once you walk in, the décor is very hip. They have chalk walks where they write menu features and specials. The server we had was the nicest guy. He gave us suggestions, plenty of time to order, and even explained the difference between the ceviches. They also have homemade juices here! The lemonade is actually a limeade and was very refreshing. My friend and I shared two dishes and the server brought out extra plates for us. Our appetizer plates were cleared right away and our waters were always full. The ceviche sampler has 3 different varieties and I would recommend this to everyone as a starter. I’m still craving their steak and pesto dish(can’t remember the exact name), but next time I would order my own because it was too good to share. Their chicken salad causa was also worth raving about!!! I am planning on adding this restaurant to the regulars list. Very fresh and clean Peruvian food with reasonable prices and excellent service.

This is an excellent Peruvian restaurant, with a creative menu and friendly service. They have recently updated their menu, and have added a few dishes made with Quinoa instead of rice, such as chaufa(Peruvian Chinese fried rice) and risotto. Their menu includes most traditional Peruvian dishes such as lomo saltado, Aji de gallina, ceviches, tiraditos, Tacu-Tacu, secos and others, but it also offers a few sushi rolls and a few Colombian dishes(since this place used to be a Colombian restaurant before being bought by a Peruvian chef). I have been here a few times, and I can say that the quality of the food and ingredients they use is very good. Their traditional lime fish ceviche is top notch, and their tamales have a very traditional Peruvian flavor. On weekends they serve the traditional Lurin breakfast, which includes deep fried pork chunks and tamales, from 9 am to noon. I have not tried yet, but it is on my list to try soon.

While a lot of good ceviche places are scattered in Miami, it’s nice to know a really good ceviche place near home. That place is called Waykuna. My honey Andy and I came a little before 6 pm on a Friday night and we were surprised there was one waiter. Poor guy was hustlin’ and bustlin’ through all the tables, and yet he had the patience to deal with us indecisive Unilocalers with the menu. In fact, I think there was a waitress too, but she was mostly on stand-by by the looks of it because the waiter was scattered all over the place. The service that night was slow, but considering the circumstances, the waiter’s customer service was on point. Slow service, but attentive, and very(VERY) patient. You could sense his stress, but he still managed to take care of us(he even put away our food in to-go boxes, which I felt was unnecessary because the night got busier and I didn’t mind doing it myself). Now onto the food. We first ordered drinks. My honey was craving the chicha morada ever since he first tried it at Dr. Limon, and this purple corn drink was served in a mason jar(cute!). It was pretty good, but I still prefer the frozen version from Dr. Limon. I got their sangria and I absolutely enjoyed it, down to every bit of diced apple in the wine glass! The Trilogia de Ceviche is considered an appetizer, but we ordered it as a meal to share and sample the three different kinds of ceviche(we chose mixed seafood instead of just fish). I’m a fan of samplers; ya don’t have to commit to one flavor! All three were delightful, and the portions were pretty generous so we did have some leftover to take home. The Filete de Pescado a lo Macho brought happiness to my mouth. The filet didn’t come out too soggy despite being slathered with this delicious creamy spicy sauce that I wish I could get the recipe on. The dish also had mixed seafood(scallops, shrimp, and calamari) that were cooked to perfection. We also had leftovers of this dish, so I was able to eat this and the ceviche for lunch at work the next day(talk about cost effective — good quality food and they were spread out to three meals: 2 dinners split between my honey and me and 1 lunch to enjoy during work break). Will I come again? Yes. The place is clean and the interior design is pretty neat(chalkboard walls with the menu and drawings, drinks served in mason jars, your bill given in small decorative buckets) and the food and drinks are great! But I hope by then they hired more servers too.

I’ve decided to update my review after several times coming here. I realized that they’re too slow! They only have ONE server!!! That’s not possible when there are 6 tables filled with an average of 2 people each. You can’t provide good service like that. I really like their soups and their meals overall and I’ve found a good way to eat here while on a short break from work: call in my order and pick it up or eat it here. Usually it’s ready in 15 minutes. I’m not sure if they changed the chef either since I first came here? The food is a little saltier than be before.

My favorite Ceviche place period. Wonderful Service, spacious table area and Ceviche and Fresh Juices that make me drive 30 mins to eat here! If you love Ceviche, you have got to at least try Waykuna!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. I love Peruvian food and the restaurant looks very nice and clean. The staff are friendly and attentive. However the food was not good at all. I had the Quinoa Seafood Chaufa. I felt like the food was not fresh, the seafood was likely frozen and defrosted. The food was probably sitting around because it came out too quickly(this is an assumption of course). The Chaufa smelled too fishy… all indicators that it wasn’t freshly cooked food. Both me and my husband had terrible stomach problems after eating here. We felt bloated and gassy… and overall disgusting feeling. I gave 2 stars for the friendliness and ambiance. But the food doesn’t even get 1 star in my opinion.

Wow! Totally amazing find a few blocks from my house. I was in the mood for something light(although I’ll explain how that didn’t happen, but that’s my fault for being a glutton lol) Anyway, came in around 7:30, place wasn’t very crowded and only two servers working. Interior is very nice colorful with really cool chalkboard walls with the menu written and drawn on both walls, I liked that touch. Drinks are served in mason jars(definitely a fad right now) and they make their own homemade chicha morada(delicious!) I looked at the menu for a while unsure of what I wanted. They offer a few different ceviche selections spread across the menu. So I ordered the mixto which is not actually on the menu but is a combo of the fish and seafood mixed together in very delicious lime marinade. Seafood was very tender and fresh. Real nice pieces of fresh octopus, squid, baby shrimp, and fish. It was outstanding. Some ceviche I’ve had can be chewy from them using frozen fish, this was very tender! They also have an interesting assortment of quinoa dishes which I found to be really cool. I ordered the Lomo saltado quinoa a la huancaina(it’s a cheese based sauce) and it was outstanding! Reminded me of shrimp and grits a bit due to the cheesy quinoa and grilled to perfection skirt steak. I don’t have any complaints about this place. Prices are good and they honored the 15% with check-in too. Service was attentive too and very friendly. I enjoyed myself. I recommend it if you’re looking for something different. I’m also glad I wasn’t immediately addressed in Spanish like has happened to me at other Peruvian places where I swear no one speaks English… this was a nice change and I hope they stay open. It was very good.

Very good! Very nice décor. Very open, clean, bright, and big. There is a lot of room. This would be a great location for a private dinner party! The staff is friendly and quick! We were seated right away. The waiter seated us, gave us a few minutes to look over the menu, and quickly seated us. We got the ceviche trio as an appetizer. It was really good. The flavors were on point. However, the only suggestion I have is the pieces of fish should be smaller. It was A LOT of food. It was more like a meal. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing … But for is it was because we wanted to save room for our food lol. I ordered the lomo Saltado with tacu tacu. It was Good. The dish is HUGE! The beef was a little chewy … But still good.(Honestly, I had filet mignon for lomo Saltado once and it spoiled me rotten; so everyone else will prob not mind). The tacu tacu was really good. Cooked perfectly. I also got a side of fries. LOLFATTY! My boyfriend got a fried chicken breast with this Parmesan quinoa … Omg delicious!!! The chicken was cooked perfectly! As we were getting our check, the waiter noticed we were already yelling and actually mentioned the 15% off Unilocal coupon — that was HUGE for me! I mean most places we’ve used Unilocal discounts on give us a hard time. So I was impressed with his eagerness to save us a few bucks. Needless to say he got a 20% tip! This is a really good & affordable place. Will deff come back if we are in the area.

I wanted to love this place especially with how much it seems other people loved their food but unfortunately I didn’t, their food was just ok for me. I’m very particular about my Peruvian food I was born and raised in Peru so I’m all about authentic you think your mom is in the kitchen kinda flavors. This place was not it for me. Now don’t get me wrong their food was ok I’ve just had better. I started off with their aguadito de pollo, which is a cilantro based chicken soup(makes the color of the broth green) this is one of my all time favorite soups. The soup was way too salty which is the reason I left most of it on my bowl. Not only that but they used frozen veggie mix(I know they’re frozen I’ve cooked with it before). I don’t think this soup was made from scratch it was more like they had all the ingredients for other dishes and just threw them together for the soup. This soup definitely was not given time to simmer and let the flavors incorporate together which is what makes this particular soup special. Next we had their ceviche mixto. This was standard fish, scallops, shrimp, squid, sweet potato etc… in citrus. I can’t put my finger on it but something was missing here. The flavor wasn’t quiet there on what it could have been. Regardless this was the overall best dish of the night. I was beyond excited for their tallarin in huancaina sauce with lomo saltado. Again this dish was just ok. The sauce was way to runny which made the huancaina flavors taste watered down, even the color was a pastel yellow instead of the usual bright yellow. Now I have to say that the steak was cooked to perfection and so full of flavor I wish I could have had a bowl of just the steak they would probably have gotten 5 stars from me! We asked for hot sauce and they brought out rocoto which is a traditional red hot sauce. That was also lacking in the flavor department it was only heat no flavor at all. The service was beyond friendly and the restaurant itself is big and spacious and clean. I wouldn’t go back since there are much better Peruvian restaurants in the area. I think if they tweaked some of their recipes they would have a great restaurant. Until then my favorite Peruvian restaurant is still cvichs 954 in Hollywood.

Let me start off with the why I didn’t give it 5 starts… The ONLY downside for me… Desayuno Lurin. Everything was great… except the Pork. I’m not sure if they use a loin or what cut of pork it is but it’s these thin, dry cuts of pork. I went to Peru recently, I travel all around Dade/Broward looking for Desayuno Lurin. This is the only thing that they missed the mark with the cut of meat they are using. It’s usually country style pork rib meat so it’s got that good fat. It was missing that braised, deep fried flavor. On another note, they will see me AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. I’ve gone 3x in the span of 2 weeks. Waiters have been attentive, friendly and on point. I was so pleased with the Tacu Tacu with Lomo Saltado. The Pescado a lo Macho was gone as soon as it hit the table. The Tallarines Verde had great flavor. Meat was cooked to perfection. Red Peruvian Sangria was sweet with a little fruit. Cholo’s was my go to Peruvian joint for my fix but I’ve found a new spot.
