I came here for a private event with prix-fixe appetizers and drinks. What I tasted what delicious and very innovative cuisine. The servers were all very friendly and very active, continually providing service and offering food. The drinks here were delicious and well-made too! So I can’t comment on the dining experience, but I certainly enjoyed myself for the event.

We ate here after attending a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live. We sat outside which was nice, we were seated in the inner row of outdoor seating, closest to the windows the restaurant. Our server was friendly and the homemade bread and olive oil were quite tasty. Both my friend and I ordered the margherita pizzas. The pizzas were quite large and we later realized we probably could have shared one. The one downside is the my pizza was incredibly greasy. Despite my friend and I ordering the same exact pizza, mine had giant pools of yellowish/orange grease on top and hers did not. Therefore, I guess the pizza here is hit or miss. I really didn’t care for my pizza due to the insane amounts of grease on top of it. Perhaps if they had brought out a stack of napkins along with my pizza so I could blot some of the grease off, that may have helped, but overall I found my pizza to be pretty unappetizing.

Between 4 and 5 stars. It was good service, good portions and good food. All 5 of us tried something different and we tried each other’s as well. Everyone liked everything, which is pretty rare, so fairly impressive. Pricing averaged about $ 20 a plate — higher for steak and stuff like that. My only knock was the appetizer, which was calamari. It wasn’t bad, but the slices were a bit large which exaggerated their rubbery texture(easy to do with squid). I saw someone else order bruschetta, and I wished I had ordered that(though I didn’t taste it, it looked great). It was ordered by a group of people speaking Italian, which is usually a good sign. Items ordered, chicken parmesan, lasagne, pesto pasta, chicken in mushroom sauce, and if you want to be adventurous, you could have what I had, which was polenta with meatballs. It sounds weird, but I’ve had fried polenta, and I’ve never ordered it in a restaurant. This was fresh, which is much tastier than fried, and the meatballs were great too. I would definitely eat here again if I was ever staying in Hollywood. Oh, it’s in a mall, but you are on the third story so it’s off the street.

Food was delicious, service was sub-par. Waiter didn’t come back except for one time. Prices were fair for the amount of food you get, my girlfriend couldn’t even finish all her pasta. I would eat here again.

AVOIDTHISRESTAURANT! The police had to be involved. After having a meal with my girlfriend at this restaurant, our waiter charged us the incorrect amount on our card, totaling to approximately $ 88 despite our bill being only $ 59. The waiter apologized and swore to correct the issue in terms of refunding the extra money deducted. We gave him the card to perform the refund and in return he came back with another receipt showing that we were now charged the $ 59. At this point me and my girlfriend demanded to speak with the manager after being charged twice totaling to over $ 100. The manager initially came out with a very weak apology, telling us that it was an honest mistake and this happens everywhere. We were not going to settle with such a poor form of an apology and requested that we be refunded our payment of $ 88. She then offered to refund the money and give us a 20% discount as well as a glass of wine. She even brought out a free dessert. Just when we thought she was finally making things right, she comes out with a stressed expression on her face and asked if she could sit with us as she was not feeling well. My girlfriend agreed. The manager then pulls out ANOTHERRECEIPT showing a charge for $ 49 including a discount!!! Yes, you read correctly, three charges, $ 88, $ 49, $ 59!!! We then requested to have, now, ALL of our money refunded in cash and the manager told us no. We asked for all of the receipts and she told us she threw them away. At this point we called the police. A report had to be filed and now a bill of almost $ 200 was charged to us due to poor management and lack of attention to detail from the staff. Do NOT make the mistake we did by dining here! It was their mistake not ours! They completely took advantage of us! The only mistake we made was dining here!

The food was amazing, and authentic. Even better, the service, for a party of 10, was great from reservations to separate checks. We loved it.

Based on a lunch and a dinner, I will say uneven. Luckily I was in good company, but service went from good at lunch time to mediocre in the evening. I had pasta both times and I was satisfied, but would have liked them better hit instead of lukewarm. The bread served was good and fresh for lunch but was a bit stale later. It was served with tapenade, which is crushed olives in olive oil, and that goes down really well while you’re waiting for your main course to arrive. At lunch, our waiter was attentive to our needs and worked hard to please us, where in the evening, our waiter took the order and delivered the check. Not much work.

Where to begin. On vacation we were staying at the Loews Hollywood hotel & figured this would be worth a shot. Firstly 2 other tables that arrived after us received their food before us & then one of our group of six received their food a good 20 minutes before the rest of the group. Once we asked where our food was it arrived about 5 minutes later. Now for the food. The soup was bland. I ordered a pizza, light cheese. It did not have light cheese on it, was super greasy & left my stomach in knots after eating just half of it. The upside? I never have to eat here again.

Location is nice, food is just okay. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again. Waiter kept on forgetting the drinks we ordered and the restaurant was very slow the night I went. Beef lasagna looked like it was in the freezer and warmed up.

I’m so used to eating good food generally everywhere I go in LA, that it’s always a bit dismaying to be flat out underwhelmed. Am I biased? Probably. I usually don’t like mall/restaurant combinations. But the decorum isn’t too bad. Simple, but at minimum you can see there was effort put into it. I came here for valentines dinner. Plates are a bit more expensive, but compared to nicer establishments it’s still relatively cheaper. Was my spaghetti pollete worth $ 18? I don’t think so. Seasoning seemed a bit out of sync. Like some slapdash combination was tried, only to come out a bit wonky. No distinct tomato flavor. More herbal, if you will. Caprese? Cheese seemed a bit wilted. I love a good cheese as well, so I was a bit disappointed there especially. And while this certainly isn’t the worst I’ve had. It’s actually quite passable compared to a lot of Italian restaurants. But my standards for Italian are high, so ultimately a 3 will do.

SALTY! SALTY! SALTY! The bread and olive tapenade was average, the caprese was good and the carbonara was way too salty which the chef blamed on the cheese. However, there was at least a cup of bacon in the dish which my friend and I ended up leaving in the bowl. If you know the cheese is salty and you know the dish has bacon(TOOMUCH actually) than you need to not salt the sauce so much. This place is mediocre at best. The waiter did try to make-up for it with a free dessert, however, upon leaving the restaurant the woman manager and our server didn’t acknowledge us at all which took my 2 star experience to a 1. I will not return here.

Ate here for the first and only time. Was in the mood for Italian and while this looked like a place that would have knock it out of the park food, I couldn’t be more wrong. Sat outside on their«patio» overlooking the Hollywood/Highland center. Server was attentive. They served the requisite bread/tapenade, nothing special here. My friend and I split Carbonara and Caprese. The Carbonara was equivalent to a salt lick… sodium overload… way way way too much bacon(yes there is such a thing) combined with the Reggiano made this almost inedible. We ended up picking out the pasta and just eating that. The Caprese wasn’t anything special. As our server was ready to get us our check we told him our problems with the Carbonara. To his credit he did tell us we could have sent it back to the kitchen and had the chef prepare us a new dish. Well I’ve heard enough stories from people that work in food service that I would never send a dish back asking for something new. You just never know how upset the chef might be. They did offer us a crème brûlée on the house… again nothing special. This place isn’t exactly inexpensive. The food definitely was not worth what we paid for it.

It is decent. I ordered something that wasn’t on the menu and they were accommodating. The wine list is sparse, but there are a couple of Italian offerings. The customer service was good and it was nice to sit outside and look out on to the color changing fountain thing. Better than the Olive Garden, not quite authentic Italian either. I lived in Italy and was never offered mashed potatoes with any meal. French fries would have been more authentic.

Pizza pizza time! Well what can I say, I entered this restaurant expecting exactly what I experienced. An average restaurant. The ambience is quiet and bright and the view is absolutely amazing because it’s on the top floor of the Kodak Theater. Pretty clean overall and very well decorated. The customer service could use some work, however, we waited quiet a bit to order our food and although it came out in decent time we also waited a while to get our checks and even had to ask the hostess for our server. The food was decent but the pizza I got was soggy towards the end and just fell apart, which really disappointed me and was hard to eat. Given that they get a consistent customer base since it’s right in Hollywood, they should try to please the customers with their meals a little more… especially for the price. So where are we? 1 out of 1 star for ambience. 0 out of 1 star for customer service. 1 out of 1 star for cleanliness. 1 out of 2 stars for food. Not bad, so-so, you’re good ol’ average restaurant. I’m not sure I’ll return, but at least I know it’s there. With that, cheers everyone! Till next time!

Overpriced, oversalted, slow. But let me justify the two starts– great view if you are by the balcony(people watching, etc), great pesto olive oil for bread. I wouldn’t really come back unless it’s the last place open and I am starving.

Who serves tea in bags and brings a cup of hot water!!! Villagers! Bread was good, but it always is, only one kind though. Olive spread was served in a dish on a napkins. Why?

Average meal with a great patio view of the happenings in Hollywood & Highland. We came here recently during a lunch break from a conference at the Dolby. We all had salads — the grilled shrimp salad. It was good, not the best, not the worst. Service was a little shotty once the crowd filled the restaurant. It felt understaffed and you could see people from tables searching for the waiter for the bill, etc. We ordered a dessert that promised to be ready in 8 minutes and it took 20 – 30. thankfully, the restaurant comped it as we were running back to our conference.

Came here for dinner last night with my girlfriends for a bachelorette celebration. I’ve walked by this place many times while at Hollywood and Highland, but this was my first time eating here. It’s conveniently located on the 4th floor of the plaza, and is a really nice open space with both indoor and patio seating. We sat at a table kind of in the back inside, and I felt like we received really slow service as a result. Nobody really came by, and we kept having to flag someone to get things we needed, which was kind of annoying if we’re at a nice, pricy restaurant. The plates are about $ 20-$ 30 each, which is kind of expensive for food a notch above mediocre and pretty slow service, but it’s Hollywood so I guess we are paying for location above everything. That being said, I did enjoy the warm bread and olive oil/olive paste spread brought out to the table. I had a bite of the caprese salad and it was good. The crab cake on the specials menu was good, but one large sized crab cake was a little more than $ 20, and it just sat on a bed of sauce with some lettuce on top. The taglitatelle bolognese was a generous portion for $ 19 and tasty, but a bit on the dry side. The seafood special pasta for $ 27 that a couple of the girls ordered looked great. Don’t forget to have your parking ticket validated here. I believe it was $ 2 for the first two hours with validation. This place is pretty good, but will cost you and you have to be patient with the service. It’s a good option if you’re in the Hollywood and Highland plaza, and looking for a sit down Italian meal. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here(definitely not for a long while at least), but it was nice to finally check it out.

Overpriced, but tastes alright. Not clean from my experience. We primarily came to try the pizza. The Prosciutto Pizza was a simple pizza with quality ingredients. I, however, thought it wasn’t justified for the price of $ 16+. We also shared a simple bolognese pasta. It had a warm meaty sauce which was perfect with the free bread. The waiters were extremely friendly, but don’t trust them. My plate was not washed well; there was some dried residue on it. I asked for a new plate and he came over in under a minute with a «new» plate. I looked at the same spot… the dried residue was gone, but there was still the stain from it. Not happy about that. Outdoor seating was great for people watching. Unfortunately, Trastevere is next to a BBQ place so I thought it was a clash of atmosphere. Sitting inside avoids this though. The inside atmosphere was sophisticated and there is also a small bar seating area. Trastevere is in the Hollywood Plaza so park in the Dolby parking lot. Go up 3 floors.

My husband and I were in Los Angeles last week for a business trip, and after a long flight and drive from the airport to Hollywood Blvd, the first and only thing we wanted was FOOD. We decided on Trastevere for convenience sake only, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the day(other than the café mochas at Ghirardelli — hard to beat that!). We didn’t want to stuff ourselves since our dinner reservation was only 5 hours away. So we got a couple cocktails and appetizers just to curve the hunger a bit. Here’s what we got: COCKTAILS — Limoncello Martini — this was wonderfully refreshing! Sweet sugary rim, tart lemon flavor, perfectly balanced flavor. I would have drank lots of these if they weren’t so alchoholic. One of the best drinks of the weeks hands down. My husband tried the House drink called Trastevere(fittingly) which he enjoyed as well. I did not try it since it was more of a manly, whiskey type drink. APPETIZER — Shrimp Cocktail(Cocktail di Gamberi) — You get 6 marinated grilled shrimp served with a spicy yogurt sauce. The shrimp were cooked perfect and had a wonderful herbed seasoning. These were warm not cold, which I prefer. The sauce was very good, but I didn’t get much spice out of it. Kind of reminded me of ranch or a mayonnaise-based dip. I liked it a lot despite the lack of spice. Ended up dipping bread in the leftovers. APPETIZER — Meatballs(Polpette della Nonna) — Now these were yummy! I can’t remember how many you get, maybe 5, but they were just delicious. Sitting in this fabulous savory marinara sauce. There were a nice size and very filling. Loved. Aside from that, we got very good bread with pesto-style spread when we first sat down. It was all just very very delicious and made us both extremely happy. Service was good. There was nothing at all to complain about. Of course, we are not locals, but if we were I know we’d be back again.
