Last Thursday night, after having one too many drinks at the bar, I blacked out. The next morning I woke up in my bed with no memory of the night before, and my keys were missing. After a few days, I gave up the search and started calling local locksmiths. On my set of keys was the only ignition key to my Yamaha scooter, which was still parked in the lot of the local bar with a note begging not to be towed. My search for a locksmith began on Unilocal as does my search for most things. I needed a new key cut from my ignition, and received two quotes: $ 160 and $ 200 from two other locksmiths with great 5 star ratings. A third locksmith referred me to Sonic, and I received a quote of $ 145 via text message. At first, I decided not to go with Sonic, because I looked them up on Unilocal and saw only a 1 star review that sounded pretty ominous. But after trying, I couldn’t get the other guys to meet me when I needed them.
I decided to try Sonic after further text messages, and I was told that if he couldn’t cut the key, there would be no charge, so I figured I didn’t have much to lose. The Sonic guy, whose name I don’t recall, arrived on time in a parking lot in Wilton Manors where my scooter remained untowed. At first, it sounded like he may need to order a longer key, but he tinkered around with what he had and was able to cut my new ignition key! It took about 15 — 20 minutes. My Sonic locksmith was very polite, on time, and saved me $ 15-​$ 55! It is hard for me to imagine that he is the same guy from the bad review. Anyway, my experience was good.
