Smart Choice Van Lines

I have too much for the allowable character allowance, so I’ll just bullet it out:
*The moving company didn’t attempt to meet the timeline requested, the dispatcher’s only response to my arrival inquiries with «legally we have 21 days to deliver your furniture
*Kelly from Smart Choice promised to be available throughout the process but stopped responding to email/​calls/​text after my initial payment (Smart Choice takes your initial payment, then you pay the moving companies on each side the remainder in cash)
*Every box was crushed with significant damage to both my dresser and bookshelf
*As I sit here today, Unique Moving Company (the actual company that Smart Choice sub-​contracted to in my case) still hasn’t found my bed (yes my bed!, everything except for the headboard) and feet to my dresser that they lost
*I informed both parties that I needed a 2 – 3 day notice before delivery so that I can pick up a parking pass from city hall that would allow the truck to park directly in front of my house (and they confirmed that I would have the notice), well the only notification that I received was when the driver was on his way, which resulted in an additional $ 150 for having to walk over 75 feet
*The customer service lady at Unique Moving Company was just not remotely interested in being helpful throughout the process
Lastly, I see where Smart Choice has tried to negatively rebut various reviews but this isn’t my first long distance move and I have all of the email conversations and paperwork to support my claims.

do not use this company under any circumstances. i used them a couple of months back and the people they got to move my stuff were absolute scum. the girl kelly on the phone is nice, but she put me on to her manager, cant remember her name but she was useless. kept telling me theyd call the company and have her boss call the movers and call me back which never happened. my stuff eventually arrived after 3 weeks instead of 5 – 9 days and they left the stuff on the sidewalk for my girlfriend to bring
i was out of town and could not get a hold of the movers to make other arrangements. im sure theyll come back with some bs when they see this. but please take my advice. no matter how cheap they say theyll move your stuff for, do not use this company

BEWARE. They will cordially help you find a mover and charge a fee. Yes they will! And then leave you hit and dry. What is to be realized: they only BOOK your move. They, in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM, help you further. They will reroute you to some third party that will horrify you and your move and they never give you a clear contact or research the third party mover to see if they are reliable. They only take your money and let you fend for yourself. So, if you are all about giving away free money, then Smart Choice is the way to go… Don’t make a Stupid Choice.
