Pink Ghost

Update 10/​15/​2010 Just got an e-​mail that they are closing down this location and are have a 30−70% off sale. I am not surprised that they are closing since they kinda suck but still a sale is a sale and I probably will stop by there before they are gone.

I love pink ghost!!! I’ve been buying from them for over a year now and their service online is GREAT! I always deal with Paola and Andrea online and they are so nice and they are always quick with their responses. Today, while on my way back to LA I decided to spend a few days in Fort Lauderdale and I just had to finally see one of the stores where I’ve been spending all my money online. I went in and instantly loved the layout of the store, there was a gallery in the back with converses painted on by various artists that was great to look at. I then went to the counter to pay for my toys and was shocked by Paola and Andrea, they’re sooo young and actually cute!!! I’d highly recommend this store over the more stuffy and elitist kidrobot stores where the employees feel like they’re too cool to beworking there.

Fort Lauderdale gets its own designer toy-​art-​lifestyle store right in the Riverfront Mall area — so if you dig Giant Robot, KidRobot (which recently opened in Miami), etc., you’ll like this place.
The Goods:
–The place is bright, well-​laid out, and objects are carefully curated with toys like Ugly Dolls, Tokio, and Threadless shirts etc.
–Small but nice selection of affordable art and selective art books (Tara McPherson anyone?) that I might return back for but otherwise, I think I’d stick with Tate’s Comics because its closer vicinity.
–They regularly through art shows and hold DIY art sessions that I think we need more of in Fort Lauderdale so you gotta support that! (1 extra star!).
I just wish they had more stuff and isn’t that in a way a compliment? Pink Ghost is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood.
