I’ve been a shopper and friend of the owners for years now! The new store manager, Kelsey, is awesome. I haven’t seen her for a couple of years but she is ALWAYS so so sweet and loves all people. She’s extremely unique and has a one of a kind sense of style that any one could admire! I want to stop in soon and shop around. The lovely thing about visiting this store is you absolutely feel welcome, and are urged to stay (with or without a purchase being made) which is RARE. The atmosphere there is unlike ANY store in the Hollywood area (Sunset and Highland) and is fucking punk rock. You can’t help but fall in love with the place and the people who work there. Every one is so genuine and awesome. Truly! This store has been around for 10 years or more, and started out as Beauty is Pain Boutique — and in the last year or so it has just lifted off onto a whole new plateau of success. it’s awesome to see!
Now for the store itself! EVERYTHING IS UNIQUE. THE OWNER MAKES AMAZING CLOTHING, THE OWNERS ALSO HAVE A RECORD LABEL. ITS JUST ALL AROUND FUCKING BITCHING. GO IN. Reading this hardly does justice.

Great place for shows and cool clothing.

Probably the weirdest and coolest place I’ve ever shopped. Great art work and after hours music shows. No snobbiness and really unique cheap items! I actually kind if don’t want you to know about this place because I want to buy it all for myself!

Nicest shop assistant ever!!! He took care about my bag while i was at a concert. There are also very cool clothes. Love my t-​Shirt that i bought there!!!

Amazing store, full of novelties, down to earth, good prices. A must visit if you come to Hollywood. Great people to bump into.

Cool little boutique with everything from rare & hard to find vinyl records to metaphysical crystals handmade into fashionable jewelry… Awesome deathrock band t-​shirts and leather jackets too! Also, check out the awesome art gallery upstairs called the Rat Factory. Local artists are able to utilize this space for exhibition events and gatherings. Really amazing art with truly unique individuals/​creators themselves. All around great store in a prime location right in the heart of Hollywood. The owners are really awesome & very knowledgable of their items for sale too. The overall theme of modern fashion with a punk/d.i.y sensibility sets this space apart from a any other store within a 20 mile radius. The owners/​couple and Glitter Death itself are very reminiscent to World’s End & the SEX boutique and it’s owners/​couple Vivienne Westwood & Malcolm McLaren… the creator of the «punk» look and the original manager/​organizer of the most famous «punk» band. Pretty awesome!

I never or rarely go to malls or department stores nor do i make days out just to go shopping, but I do however love fashion! (Surprising) I enjoy finding clothes that I can be sure that nobody within a 50 mile radius will have an exact copy of. One night i happened to be walking around Hollywood on my own trying to find my way home when I see a rack of 5 $ clothing outside. This to me is a magical find! Not only were these clothes in my budget but everything on the rack was exactly the kind of style i like. Funky, colorful, full of texture and the character of being previously owned. I got myself one of my favorite pieces of clothing that night, a green velour vest with buttons that are like little charms you can switch up and clip on. When I entered the store to purchase is when they really got me. The décor! The accessories ! The posters! I love the atmosphere of this place. The guy at the front even went so far as to have me completely mesmerized by complimenting my sense of fashion hitting it right on the nose as a Hendrix/​AfroHippie trip. Take an awesome trip into another era where you wished you were alive and be happy this place exists!

My boyfriend was playing a show here for free yet the store was charging $ 5 per head to get in. His band brought in a BUNCH of people, (doesn’t take much to fill up that tiny store. it’s about as big as my closet) who paid yet they wouldn’t even allow him to bring in one guest. Like i want to pay $ 5 to stand shoulder to shoulder in an UN-​airconditioned room smaller than my closet. On top of that the guy who was running it was an extreme dick as he was trying to block my view from the outside window lol. Would not recommend for any band offered to play in this shack. OH– and of course there is no parking! So you have to lug in all your equipment from blocks away!

This place is amazing. A teeny version of what I had HOPED Hollywood would be like when I 1^st moved out here. Mani & Rio are some of the nicest people ever, and the products @ BIP are f’n rad.

Awesome rock shop! There are no others quite like it in Hollywood or anywhere for that matter. Where else can you find such a creative collection of rare old school vinyl, contemporary art, edgy custom fashion & clothing designs, vintage punk rock shirts, friendly rockers, and an awesome pug! B is P is one of the only real rock n roll shops left in Hollywood, so do yourself a favor and check it out!

I’m glad places like Beauty is Pain are still around. In an increasingly corporate and dehumanizing world, there needs to be more places like this boutique. There are all kinds of cool clothes, records dvds, art… everything from ultra rare gems, to the outrageously upsurd collectables that you couldn’t find anywhere else. The people who run this store are great, they throw affordable shows with local and touring bands. Its great to know that there still is some culture left in Hollywood. If you’ve never been; check this spot out. If you want to have a good time, go to a show here

i came here for my friends show and was impressed with this space. it is small, but jam packed with the awesome and random. i picked up two records from the section labeled «weird» and they ended up being some of my best random record purchases i have made in a long time. i got a percussive jazz record that has seriously changed my musical life. i appreciate that they have bands play here and the shop is definitely worth checking out either way.

I’m born and raised in Hollywood. The Hollywood and Highland mall going up was almost as shocking as women getting the right to vote. It was exciting, and then the rest of the area became gentrified and now it is a breeding ground for the worst scumbags on the planet… aka any one proud of being from the 909.
So one night I decided to go to the Silent Film Theater for the Punk Film Fest to escape house music and top 40 trying to shatter my windows. I was promoting my friend’s webseries
, when I came across a fantastic girl named Rio! She owns this lovely boutique (obviously…Beauty is Pain) with her boyfriend Manuel.
What a GEM!!! What a sensation!!! This is such a great haven and getaway for those who miss what Hollywood used to be! Well priced, great choices in clothing, accessories, and records!
And SHOWS! Live music!?? For free? In Hollywood! It’s sensational!
CAN I FORGET THAT THEY HAVE THE BEST PUG ON THE PLANET??? If you have a pug, you will be upset that you didn’t get their amazing pug, Auto, who actually does their taxes (Auto Goldstein to be precise…)
Anyways, this is one of my favorite places. Rio and Manuel are fantastic and kind spirited people, and it’s sensational that they have kept so true to what they love and believe in.

I love vintage clothing and this store has a great mix of vintage and new clothing. I can always find a gem when I come in, one item I bought a year ago and still wear almost every week is a cool corset cover-​let top which goes over dresses and tops and makes any outfit look more edgy and high-​fashion. Make sure to check out the accessories selection, a real cool mix of up coming designers
