California Pizza Kitchen

El trato que recibimos en el Restaurant fue de maravilla. Demi, nuestra mesera, nos trató súper amablemente, nos explicó el menú y nos trajo unos nachos por parte de la casa por nuestra primer visita al Restaurant. Toda la comida estaba riquísima, la pizza margarita, los nachos y el key lime dessert. El precio es súper acuerdo a sus platos, hasta es barato para la buena calidad. Debo destacar por sobre todo la amabilidad de Demi en todo momento!
Definitivamente vamos a volver a probar las sopas de la casa!

My girlfriend and I decided to come to this CPK after a few games of bowling. As we entered our host took us to our table. Because we were only a party of two, we felt we would rather sit next to each other. Almost immediately our Server relocated us to a big ass booth. But thats not the main point. As we sat down we were greeted by Clinton. First things first, Clinton had such an amazing attitude, bringing smiles to us both. He had excellent service and treated us like royalty. Our food came promptly and he was very patient with us. As we finished up he ran over some to-​go boxes and our bill. We quickly paid the bill, and helped clear the table. He thanked us and exchanged a quick conversation. Absolutely an
A++++ server, and i cant wait to deal business with this CPK again. Thanks Clinton!

i honestly thought it was goin to be good but sadly my order was missing stuff. it defenitly wasn’t worth what i payed & i couldnt go bck because of my break time. i thought it was goin to be better but no. not ordering food from here anymoree

CPK is a safe place to eat. You will always find something to eat but don’t expect anything spectacular.
One of the best things at CPK is free — the bread. The baguettes are fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Served warm, dip these babies in the olive oil concoction and enjoy!
The Chinese chicken salad is mediocre at best. The chicken is salty and they toss it in dressing, but then put another teriyaki-​type glaze again on top. Super over-​sauced =(
This location in the Kodak theater is huge. There’s outdoor seating and bar seating as well.

I have eaten here many, many times, I always bring tourists here as Hollywood and Highland is a great place for visitors… I have ALWAYS received GREAT service and GREAT food each and every time! I had forgotten to get my parking receipt validated, and when I ran back even though they were closed the waitress came to the door took my ticket and validated it! Now THATS what I’m talking about! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I wanted to write a review specifically for the service. I’ve eaten at CPK for many years and always love the BBQ chicken salad with avocado and the pizza. The food is always good and the iced tea is my fav. The only thing is that they’ve recently changed their table bread recipe and I’m not very fond of the new one. As I said, this is a review of the service. We had Clinton as our waiter and could not be happier. The place was slammed since it is a Saturday and during the holidays but he was still nice, polite, quick and remembered everything we requested (water with no ice and the lemon, for example) He made sure to wish us a happy new year and didn’t let us walk out with getting a validation. I was very pleased with his attitude and how well he knew the menu. Excellent service, thank you Clinton!

I love this place. It never fails me. The staff is courteous, the food is great and the music is soulful!

Great place and food always consistent, My family love this place. We always come here at least 2 – 3 time a month and with menu selection for kids. They never complain if I want to come to this place. Service always good and food always great!

The pizza is delicious and the crust is amazing! Nice and crispy on the outside and chewy like rice cakes on the inside! I ordered a Hawaiian pizza and it’s One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Next time I will ask them for more onions tho! The service was really good too.

It was my first time in LA and my first time at CPK. I learned it is a chain restaurant. The pizza I had was really good. I got a special pizza of the week. A Thai pizza with chicken, bean sprouts, sweet chili sauce and more asian ingredients. I really liked it. My girlfriend had a very delicious salad with avocado and artichokes. Drinks wer ok too, price above average. I would go there again.

I was a fan of this place until the other day. I will NEVER go back in there. Our waiter approached us laughing at some inappropriate comments made with the other coworker and couldn’t even take our order right. kept saying is that it before we could finish our order!
And worst of all walked away before the last one of us placed an order.
How rude!!! Customer service is the face of your business, how can it not be a priority! I just can’t understand specially in this location.
Pizza was waiting back there for a while before we received it because again there was more talking among employees than working.
Cold pizza:

I hate cold food. I expected more. I give up on not just this location but all of them.

We found this place accidentaly in our walk exploring the area. The food was actually delicious. Don’t normally have pasta dish outside my house, however they actually brought me the pasta «al dente» as requested. Yum. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Nice location away from the madness of the boulevard. Great to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view of the Hollywood sign.

I’ve been to this location twice now and I have been pleased with my experience.
Both visits were in the afternoon at slightly off dining times (around 2pm), but we were promptly seated and greeted by an efficient server.
The food has been fresh and delicious. I am a big fan of the pizza and my husband likes the full size salads.
I would recommend visiting, especially if you don’t have a California Pizza Kitchen in your area.

The restaurant is located in the Hollywood and Highland shopping centre; perfect spot to take a photo of the Hollywood sign on level 4. Unfortunately at night time it was not lit up.
The service was great, the lady who looked after our table was amazing, polite, helpful and made sure the whole family is ok.
I bought the Salmon, it was over clocked and without skin. The corn and capsicum were nice. Over all it was an enjoyable main.
My daughter bought the crunchy Thai salad, She liked it and I liked the taste.
The kids had macaroni and cheese. Was nice too.
The over all experience was satisfactory.

You know exactly what you’re getting with CPK, but this location is a step up from others we’ve been to.
A recent renovation has done well by this place. It looks and feels modern, and (shockingly) the new ribeye steak was as good as many I’ve had in steakhouses in LA at twice the price.
But I wouldn’t have bothered to review if we hadn’t recently had an outstanding experience with a server names Abbie. She was top-​notch, definitely exceeding our expectations for service in a quick casual chain like this. Thanks so much, Abbie!

This restaurant is definitely going through a transition. It seems as if it is separating itself from the family booth style and replacing it them with reclaimed wood square tables, going for the italian and rustic feel. It’s not bad at all, it actually gives the restaurant a fancier vibe, I just miss the comfy booths (because I am lazy and like to spread out), haha. The menu has gotten fancier, now offering halibut, healthier options and other items you would not find at CPK two years ago.
Now the reason for the low rating: My husband and I got our main entrée, a BBQ chicken pizza, 45 minutes after ordering. Although our waitress was sweet, the service was super slow and the restaurant was not busy. Yeah, I know, it’s CPK. Keep your expectations to a reasonable level, Amanda… But, I mean, if you are part of a chain that mass produces these on the daily, it shouldn’t take that long for a pizza. AM I RIGHT!!!

The pizza looks more as a focaccia but not bad!
It’s on 15 $ each plus tips, it’s just small portion!

This could have easily been a one or two star experience if it hadn’t been for Steve the manager, who made sure that the wait staff corrected our order (we came with a large group and there was some confusion); he also made sure that we got our drink orders in time as well.
Outside of this, the product coming out of this kitchen was actually, surprisingly good… delicious, I’m even tempted to say… everything from the salads to the jambalaya to the pastas were outright well executed, none overseasoned, and the ingredients noticeably fresh and of good quality.
In a touristy area near the Manns Chinese theatre, this place has lots of foot traffic so don’t expect a quiet dinning experience. A good option for a sit-​down lunch or dinner if you’re visiting the area.
A big thanks again to Steve the manager for making sure our night ended on a good note.

2015 Unilocal 100 CHALLENGE — ⁰³⁶⁄₁₀₀
Not the best location I’ve been to, unfortunately. But this place is packed all the time because of the location so I guess it’s expected. I got the spicy chicken pizza which was completely soggy. My friend’s pasta was really tasteless too. And the spinach & artichoke dip came with totally stale chips. They were hard, couldn’t even bite into them!

This location at Hollywood and Highland is located right next to the Starbucks in the back. They must have changed their menu because I was looking forward to ordering a specific dish and it wasn’t on it. Oh well. My dining companion and I decided to split a half salad and a pizza. We opted for the Moroccan spiced chicken salad and the 5-​cheese and tomato pizza. We also ordered a red sangria and a Newcastle beer. The drinks arrived first, followed by the salad and pizza. Our server also brought us some plates to divide up the food. The salad was really good. It had dates, dried cranberries, spiced chicken, beets, bell pepper, spring mix lettuce, almonds, avocado, chopped eggs and butternut squash. It was one heck of a salad. It was really tasty and I really enjoyed all of the different textures. I really enjoyed the sweet and the savory combinations too. The salad gets 4 stars in my book.
The pizza was cooling as we ate our salad. It was delightful but nothing special. 3 stars. Our service was great, as we arrived when it wasn’t too busy. The host seated us on the patio as requested, and we enjoyed the warm LA weather. Luckily the restaurant was in the shade or else we would have asked to be seated inside. This is a solid place to eat at with large groups because there is something for everyone.

It was a Wednesday evening when we came to eat here. The husband and I have been to a few CPK places, and weren’t disappointed until this visit.
I know this is in a tourist area, but that being said you’d think the service would be better. It wasn’t crowded at all when we came here for dinner around 7. Our waiter didn’t really check on us, nor did he ever refill our drinks. Just took our drink orders and then food orders. There were a few times when I could see him standing with other waiters just joking around to the right of the bar. I noticed other patrons looking around a bit for their waiter as well.
Pizza we had was so-​so. Pepperoni pizza the kids ordered was super greasy. Waiter didn’t check on us to ask how our food was and after the food came out the only other time we saw him was when he brought the bill. I do try and take things into consideration when it comes to servers, but it was obvious the wait staff would rather joke around than serve the guests. Really sad.

Nach unserer Ankunft in Hollywood und einem ersten Spaziergang durch die unmittelbare Nachbarschaft zu unserem Hotel führte uns die Suche nach etwas Essbarem in diese Filiale des California Pizza Kitchen im Hollywood & Highland Center. Da wir beim ersten Mal zufrieden waren, haben wir sie danach erneut aufgesucht.

Die Pizza-​Kette mit dem roten Hut kennen wir. Im Urlaub musste es schon etwas neues sein. Auch das California Pizza Kitchen ist eine Kette und es erinnert von der Gesamtaufmachung her schon etwas an die Konkurrenz, betrachtet man die Speisekarte, unterscheidet es sich aber auf jeden Fall davon.
Am Eingang befindet sich schon im Freien ein Empfangstresen. Ist das Lokal voll, muss man einige Minuten warten bevor man aufgerufen wird, aber nie länger als 10 Minuten. Man wird von einer Servicekraft freundlich begrüßt und an den Tisch gebracht. Es gibt Sitzplätze im Freien. Wir bevorzugten den klimatisierten Innenraum, in dem man sich für ein Essen von der kalifornischen Sonne kurz erholen kann.
Das Interieur des Restaurant ist in warmen Farben (gelb, braun, orange) gestaltet. Die Sitzgelegenheiten (Bänke, Stühle) sind bequem und die Tische recht groß. An der hinteren Wand befindet sich ein Tresen hinter dem sofort die sehr saubere Küche beginnt, auf die man so einen Blick werfen kann. Am Tresen können Speisen zum Mitnehmen abgeholt werden. Lüftung und Klimaanlage im Lokal sind gut und es entstehen durch die offene Küche keine unangenehmen Essensgerüche.
Die Servicemitarbeiter waren alle sehr nett. Wer für den Tisch zuständig ist, stellt sich kurz vor und spricht auf Wunsch der Gäste Empfehlungen zur Essensauswahl aus.
Als Getränke haben wir die hausgemachten Limonaden probiert, die extrem lecker geschmeckt haben, vor allem die Sorten Pfirsich und Mango. Als Basis diente offenbar klassische, amerikanische Ztronenlimonade (Lemonade), die mit weiteren Zutaten entsprechend ergänzt wurde. Ich hätte mich glatt in einen Bottich kühle Limonade setzen und ihn austrinken können, so lecker war es. Bezahlen muss man für die Getränke nur einmal. Danach wird so oft nachgefüllt, wie man möchte.

Baja Chicken Rolls (Vorspeise)
Kleine Maisfladen mit Huhn, Bohnen, Mais und Käse gefüllt, im Pizzaofen knusprig gebacken und mit Guacamole serviert.
BBQ Chicken Pizza
Pizza belegt mit BBQ-​Sauce, Gouda, Mozzarella, BBQ Chicken und Zwiebeln. Mit Koriander gewürzt.
Mushroom Peperoni Sausage Pizza
Pizza belegt mit Pilzen, Paprika, Salami, Mozzarella und Tomatensoße.
California Club Pizza
Pizza belegt mit Bacon, Hühnchen und Mozzarella. In dieser Zusammensetzung wird die Pizza im Ofen gebacken. Anschließend werden Tomaten, Avocado-​Schnitze und Salat zusammen in Mayonnaise gewälzt und vor dem Servieren auf die Pizza gelegt. Die Kombination aus Kalt und Warm schmeckt wirklich toll. Diese Pizza ist vom Sättigungsgehalt aber auch sehr mächtig.
Neben Pizzas bietet California Pizza Kitchen auch Salate, Pasta, Tacos, Sandwiches und Desserts an. Wir konten leider nicht alles testen. Alle Speisen heben sich von der Zusammensetzung aber definitiv von Altbekanntem ab.
Wir können das California Pizza Kitchen auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Wer in Hollywood auf der Suche nach einer guten Pizza ist, der ist hier genau richtig.
