Lame, the security wouldn’t let my guy friend in for wearing shorts but let’s girls in that had shorts on?!? Wow! Really upscale sexist place here thanks for the rejection!

Went here a few days ago to hear a terrific singer. The setting was reminiscent of the I Dream of Jeannie bottle. The stage is near the center of the room, with the bar area behind a wall, behind the stage. There’s lots of tile & brick & large beams that probably should have produced a lot of echo. Nope, performance was good, sound was good, overall experience was good.

Classy place, went to see my friends friend perform & it was awesome, we had front stage seating, drinks are delicious, the place is beautiful. Great people, pricy, but worth it.

***beware of card and bank issues if you use a debit or credit card. If you must come here, I recommend bringing cash. If you use a card they will temporarily charge you $ 20 for EACHDRINK. Even if you keep your tab open. I’ve even asked the bartenders(who are nice enough) about this. I was never given a clear answer. Every time I go I just deal with it and watch the charges drop after 24hrs. But tonight my card was shut off after leaving Bardot, due to suspected«fraudulent activity» I had one charge of $ 10, a charge of $ 20, and another for $ 20. I spent no more than $ 25 after tip. I’d be inclined to give this place a better review if the bulk of my experience wasn’t remembering having my card shut off. I feel like it’s a simple fix and hope management makes an improvement to their«temporary charge» system. I’ve never experienced temporary charges this high ever. This place is quantity of quality. They don’t need to give a great experience when hundreds of people are spending a lot of money every evening. The place is clean, and the house staff is decent. Bartenders are fine, they deal with a lot of people and still take care of you in a quick amount of time. Bands are usually good, as is the sound(even though the room isn’t really designing to hold bands). While it does sound good, it’s a tight room and I’d recommend ear plugs as «it might get loud»

In the early stages of planning our«law prom» here but it’s been amazing nonetheless. Leslie has been so accommodating and helpful. Five people wanted to see the space and all five of us got it. When we wanted to taste the food for our tray pass options, Leslie quickly set up a tasting, let us pick 8 options and we got to choose 4. All the items were delicious and it was extremely difficult to choose only 4 — hats off to the chef. Our event is in late February but being able to plan this far ahead has been helpful to our stressful lives. The venue is also very accommodating with our budget. When we did the walk through we weren’t able to see exactly how the space would look but we will have an opportunity to see it prior to the event. I also mentioned to Leslie another type of event that we put on and she was really excited about helping us with that too. I’m looking forward to seeing the turn out and how people respond to the venue. With the collaboration between my team and Bardot, this event will be the best my school has seen in years. Can’t wait to start promoting it in January! Oh, definitely can’t forget that there is parking right next to the venue and across the street. Parking next to the venue may be free(Bardot might compensate you) and $ 15 across the street. I’ll update my review after the event!

What a great place to see your favorite bands play. It’s so up close and personal and never a bad seat in the house. If you want to sit upfront then you either have to reserve a table or get there early for first come first serve seating. Atmosphere is pretty chill and has a mixture of people. Drinks are a tad bit pricey and water is $ 5. Didn’t really bother me since the concert was free. Negatives: I can’t stand the cigarette smoke that’s allowed indoors because technically the establishment is outdoors. The roof is like a canopy, so I’m guessing that’s why it’s allowed. But it feels like everyone is smoking in enclosed building and it made me sick. I’m allergic to smoke so that’s why I have more of a problem with it but for those who don’t care then it won’t bother you. The couches/reserved seating are so gross looking. I don’t even want to know what they look like with the lights on. Just from being on them in the dark, they looked filthy, nasty and stained. That didn’t deter me from seeing my favorite band and I’m sure it’ll be the same for you.

Awesome venue, ESPECIALLY for the area, which is notoriously frothing with cunts. The vibe here is great, with a couple different rooms to check out. When I went here, there was a DJ upstairs(who really sucked, actually) and a band in the downstairs room who was REALLY good… surprisingly good, actually. I think they were called Of Limbo. There’s a dance floor in the top room, and people use the area around the stage on the bottom floor as a makeshift dancing area. The drinks here are expensive, but it makes sense when you factor in the ambiance and loads of attractive people everywhere. The bar tender actually messed up my first drink order, and I brought it up to her without being an entitled bitch about it. She owned up to it and gave me a couple free shots – apology accepted! The crowd here isn’t the hippest, but as I mentioned before, there is plenty of eye candy for guys and gals alike. This venue does cater to the kind of twat-waffle who walks around with their phone held out in front of them, Parascoping, Snapchatting, or recording whatever’s going on, doing anything but living in the moment, which is always kind of a buzzkill for me to see. I did meet some cool people here, though, so I can’t complain too much. I haven’t been here on their infamous«school night», but I’m looking forward to checking it out!

Walked over to Bardot from the W Hotel with 6 of my friends on a Monday for a second round of birthday drinks. So happy to have chosen this place because the music on School Night was awesome! A live band was playing downstairs and a DJ was spinning upstairs. There was a ton of seating upstairs around midnight. Didn’t worry about parking because I never drive myself to Hollywood(hello, Über?). Drinks were decently priced according to my friends. The bouncer up front made a huge deal out of my birthday which was cute. I had a great time.

Bardot is a trendy open air lounge located on Vine St. in the heart of Hollywood. I came here for a live record release party for one of my favorite artist. Bardot has a chic ambiance in an intimate setting. Warm lighting and many little side rooms filled with plush couches and chairs to lounge in while listening to the live music. The main stage is personal, as you are nearly face to face with the artist as they perform. I appreciated the free performance, but was not excited to pay $ 20 for the adjacent parking. Next time I will look at the alternative parking down the street for less. The drinks were good, and the price is what you would expect for being in the heart of Hollywood. I paid about $ 12 for a Red Bull and Vodka. The open air ceiling was very pretty, but it also means you are allowed to smoke. That didn’t bother me; it seemed the smokers still hung out in their own section regardless. The attire for most seemed trendy casual, and the age was mid 20’s with sprinkles of people ranging to their late 40’s. It made for great for people watching and conversation with other creative minds. I look forward to going back another time.

Pretty much Avalon, but if you’re facing the building, the entrance to Bardot is off to the right closest to the parking lot. Parking is expensive here. $ 20 in the lot right next to it. You’re pretty much paying for convenience. My friends parked at a lot a couple blocks down for $ 10, but this lot right next to Bardot was convenient. Entry was easy. Check your ID and you make your way up a couple flights of stairs. There’s two areas to this place. When you enter, there’s one room. Another room if you keep going as well. The bar was shady. Early in the night, a round consisting of 3 drinks was $ 25. Towards the end of the night, the same amount of drinks and the same kind of drinks was like $ 50. What? This place price gauges in some way knowing people are inebriated towards the end of the night and will just swipe away and sign on the dotted line. Would I come here out of my way? Nope. My friend had a show here and we were out to support him. Otherwise, this place looks really rundown and the drinks are ridiculously expensive towards the end of the night. Actually not even towards the end of the night. It was before midnight.

This place is one of my favorite gems of Los Angeles. Located in the back of Avalon, the Bardot is the club’s back bar and Monday nights are free with live bands. Check who is playing on (they also have the same music nights in NY too). It’s free admission if you rsvp online at the site(I’ve been coming here for two years and noticed they have been checking at the doors the past year especially so make sure you do that!). I’ve been to many of these events and each time I’ve had a blast! This venue has cool décor and its small so it’s very intimate. I’ve seen a wide range of people from all over the world(some I’ve been jamming to for a while, and others I just discovered that night) including Elliphant, Alex Vargas(who does vocals for tracks for Above and Beyond), Broods, Jack Garratt, Charlotte OC, The Flavr Blue, and many more local bands and international peeps! This review is getting pretty lengthy but I love the Bardot too much so I’ll just leave this with saying spending a Monday night with live bands and fellow music lovers definitely helps beat the Monday blues!

Bardot is my new go-to spot when I have friends visiting in LA. I went there last night for«School night,» an amazing FREE night of music with live acts and(later on) KCRWDJ’s. We only stayed for the first two acts, but the my spicy margarita really hit the spot while I was standing in their faux-courtyard underneath the stars(no roof – hard to explain, you just have to see it.) A really great vibe for date night, tres romantique. We did not stay for dancing, but I would love to come back another night when I’m less tired and have more time to spend. Yes, drinks are a bit pricey. But the vibe is worth it. Note: DORSVP on their guest list.

MONDAYSCHOOLNIGHTS! Dig their School Nights on Mondays where you usually have some awesome music artists come by and play a free show! It’s basically the top part of Avalon, lots of winding around to visit different rooms with several bars. Not too hard to get a drink WEIRD crowd ranging from like 18−50… 3.5 stars for location(a bit crowded) but 4 stars for School Nights! Check it out here:

Monday’s best night in LA for live musical discoveries. Where I first saw Hozier and Eagle Rock Gospel Singers. RSVP at School Nights KCRW. Arrive early. $ 10 parking. Bring $ to get band’s goodies and support honest music. DJs are good, sometimes ok, I still feel people could dance more in LA. Venga VengaDJing at school night is my dream, maybe one day my brazilian boys spin some records here.

I’ve been here twice now– once for an evening concert and today for a Sunday burlesque and jazz brunch. The space is really lovely, with a good number of tables and couch seating available. During the concert the place really filled up– but never to the point that it felt uncomfortably crowded. The band playing was quite good, though the acoustics were not the best on that particular night. Also, a lot of people were smoking– the venue allows smoking indoors(yuck) so a lot of the night was spent dodging secondhand smoke. The burlesque brunch, however, was fantastic– this was the first one they have hosted and it was so impressive and fun. Great jazz(and acoustics), great singers, and lovely, talented dancers. Small crowd, which was nice because everyone had a good seat. If they do more burlesque brunches I would strongly recommend them. Perfect for a birthday or a date with an open minded person! Parking sucks– it is Hollywood, after all.

Came here for an after party on a Saturday. Drinks were moderately priced I got a vodka cran double for $ 12 and every sip was like taking a shot. The venue is really nice, they have sofas and arm chairs. Really nice place to chill. They also have a DJ dance area with couches surrounding it if you just want to drink and people watch.

Dear I fear we’re facing a problem because this venue feels like it was stolen from the 1996 version of Romeo and Juliet. Came here on a Monday night for«School Night» and arrived at 7:30PM. We felt like groupies because we were probably the 5th or 6th people waiting in line. If you don’t want to pay for parking you should get there early. I was lucky enough to find parking on Argyle and Vine. There’s a lot of street parking on Vine, you just have to read the signs for when the rules of the meters do not apply. If you’re really into music, the venue is across the street from the Captiol Records building. You honestly don’t need to RSVP to their«School Night», it really is first come first serve. Crowd is pretty diverse. I had the pleasure of standing next to a girl who still looked like she was in high school and kept getting«massages». It does get crowded standing in the audience. I find it annoying how smoking is allowed in the venue. Beers were $ 7 — they ran out of Stella. The main band does not perform until 11:30, so really there is no point in going THAT early. I recommend sitting on the couches and then squeezing your way to the front when the band you want to see performs.

Small and intimate venue — Barely any room for standing, they had put some seating areas and maybe a foot or two between the sofas and the stage. The«stage» was a raised platform for the bands. I came for Monday night for what is dubbed«School night» and saw one of the coolest bands — Six60 from New Zealand. It’s hard to describe their music, but really awesome stuff. Bardot is located upstairs of the Avalon. There are is one entrance in the front for the Avalon, and Bardot’s entrance is on the side, right by the parking lot. I think this was what was known as the Spider Room a while back. Now it’s a venue for shows or independent bands. If you come before 10, I believe there is no guestlist. The security just checks your ID, slaps on a wristband and sends you on your merry way upstairs. There is no cover, guestlist or not. Suggestion — possibly getting rid of the seating areas and it gives more standing room for people that want to see the bands. Weak drinks, expensive. Also, you can smoke in venue. Ugh, apparently since it’s a makeshift patio area and there’s «ventilation» it’s ok to smoke. It gets über smokey. Not cool. really not cool. FYI, it’s hipster heaven there. AND omg, they had the heat lamps on? WHY? I understand its cold outside, but when you pack 100+ people PLUS bands and their equipment and booze, it gets HOT and hot, stuffy, smokey it gets. Parking close by is $ 5 – 15 depending which lot. However, there is plenty street parking that is free after 8pm — on Vine, Sunset, Gower, Hollywood. I don’t mind walking a few blocks, especially after coming out of the hot and stuffy club. It kinda clears your mind. There’s nothing special about the venue — just something special with some of the bands that come and play here.

I remember all the promoters eventually left ‘Blues in Green’ over at Green Door on Tuesdays and moved north above Sunset… to Bardot. Similar vibe/aura to Green Door, but with more pronounced red velvet décor, the dress code remained basically the same, and so did the crowd, initially. Again, it was nice seeing a familiar face at door(Joe) and we were quickly ushered upstairs to the club. Same concept with the open-air=smoking area, but there were side rooms to tuck away into as you could grab a seat and enjoy a drink/people watch. This was also where the musical acts set up to perform. Mark, one of the hosts from Green Door also transferred over here, and Jarod Carey was the manager at the time. There was also another Mark M. who was in charge, and he did everything he could to make sure your night was an enjoyable one. I never really got into Bardot as it seemed to become so much more crowded than Green Door once was, due primarily to the location with Avalon and such. Look like it’s still holding up 5 years later, so that says something. Would I return? If I was out with a group in that area and that was one of our pit stops, I would be willing to give it another shot.
