Ed has been cutting my hair since he was working in Carmel. Great guy, professional and mellow. I don’t mind driving the hour drive to Hollister for my appointments with him.

Tim, the owner of DeLux, has been «doing» my hair for nearly 20 years. I came to him after another salon in Hollister had accidentally turned by hair Peach colored… not good!!!
Tim expertly fixed the problem and helped me to discover what is now my signature «Ruby Slippers» Red Hair color.
DeLux is clean and professionally run and really stands out, especially in Hollister, where in my five years here before meeting Tim, I had more botched haircuts, eyebrows, colors and perms than I care to admit.
For my job I frequently have European visitors who need emergency hair care by Tim. They, also, are always impressed with Tim’s expertise and professionalism.
Besides Tim there are several other stylists in the salon that offer a wide variety of services including women & mens cuts, colors and perms, and other cool services like eyelash extensions, spray tan, wedding do’s & hair extensions.

I must say that I recommend Delux salon to anyone and everyone. Especially because of Gloria. The whole staff is really nice and pleasant to be around. Tim the owner is very attentive and you can tell he loves his business. Lori always has a smile on her face and Gloria has been taking care of my beauty needs since 2005. She is a very talented, caring, and dedicated woman to her work. I have never left her once with a feeling other than complete satisfaction. I always go in there knowing that she will take my idea and make it 100 x better. Gloria was born to be in this business and I HIGHLY recommend her to everyone!!!

tim (owner) is Mr Hollister he is has been living in that town his whole his life. He has been cutting my hair since I was a little girl I’ve never had any complaints however he is constantly busy and never has any time to do my hair anymore so I see gloria now and she does an absolutely wonderful job the overall atmosphere of this salon is very cool very edgy overall I feel that this salon is a place that you can go for the rest of your life tim Gloria and Lori are great hair stylists.

Lori has been my stylist for many many years. wait ! not too many.lol. She is not only an expert in her field but is truly a beautiful person inside and out. make your appointment way in advance due to her schedule is always weeks out… she is a master colorist and stylist. up to date on all the latest styles and has a serious passion for what she does…

This review is specifically for Kayla. I learned about her from a friend (which of course is the only way to go when you’re talking about your hair!). She did an excellent job with the cut and color for my friend. She’s young (and not that long out of beauty school), but don’t let that deter you. She is more talented and reliable than most seasoned hair dressers I’ve used. She respects the fact that I keep my hair long (too many people cut too much off) and as long as I speak up, she listens to my specific requests and asks good questions if she’s not clear.
As far as the salon. It’s small, but doesn’t give a crowded feel and the furniture is comfortable. It’s always been clean for my visits. Although the somewhat full-​length mirrors add a nice look to the décor (and probably part of the reason it feels more spacious than it is), it’s a drawback for me as I’m not looking my best while sitting in a hair-​dressers chair and the last thing I want to see is that in full-​length. Ugh. But that’s just me — and of course that’s being picky when everything else is very nice. The few times I’ve observed other hairdressers — they are also young and they do seem to show that in how they act. I’ve yet to be there when someone hasn’t borrowed some of Kayla’s equipment.
If you go to Kayla, make sure you’re clear in what you want and remind her each time you go. Don’t be shy. She is a very laid-​back person and will not take offense if you start telling her what to do (many hair dressers get a little put out if you try to «tell them how to do their job») — Kayla is open to whatever makes the customer happy.
For a cut and blow dry she is well-​priced. Although I don’t color my hair so I can’t say for sure, but her price for coloring seems a bit on the higher-​end (for average salons). From my perspective, that might be just because she takes the time necessary to do the job right to give it a natural look. I believe if you’re having just one shade, the cost goes down.

I just had my hair done by Kayla, cut, color, and blow out!!! OMG I love it! She did an awesome job, I have had so many compliments, Thanks Kayla!

Love the folks at DeLux Hair Salon! Tim has been doing my hair for close to 30 years, and I’ve never been disappointed! He’s honest with me, knows how much time I’m willing to spend on my hair, and let’s me know why or more importantly, why I won’t like a certain cut or color. Would not hesitate to go to one of the other stylists in the Salon if Tim was not available for some reason– they know the latest styles, trends and are wonderful with color, extensions or any other service you can think of. Highly recommend!

Tim Borges is a great guy. Lots of good stories and always a smile on his face. Nice shop, clean, been there about a year. Great haircuts at a reasonable price. I keep going back!
