Traveling from out of state and stopped by for lunch. Extremely wonderful spot to have in central Pennsylvania(a gem in a food desert I would say). The menu has lots of options– not too many vegetarian/vegan options but the staff is happy to accommodate any special requests for people with food restrictions. The portions are large and for the most part seem to be pretty high quality ingredients.(Hard to be picky in Central PA but I would suggest upgrading to unbleached flour for your crêpe batter) The restaurant only had one waiter on staff and they have an extremely goofy menu system set up with iPads on the tables that made the experience feel very chaotic and slow. We were under the impression that this restaurant had just opened by inexperienced feel of the operation. The waiter was nice but overly complicated with his verbiage, and confusing which made the whole communication slow/drawn out/and annoying. I hope that this restaurant thrives because like I said– amazing resource in central PABUT they definitely need to improve there wait staff and I would suggest switching to paper menus for a MUCH smoother operation overall. If this restaurant was in a different location with other good food options I would certainly skip ever going here again but in an area with little options for something decent I would probably give it a try again.

Good food and selection. I do not like ordering via an IPAD, but that is a personal preferance.

I’ve tried so hard to like this place and just can’t. The Crêpes are closer to a burrito, too much filling, soft, not browned, completely devoid of flavor despite being filled with ingredients, criminally under seasoned. When that’s your name sake, it needs to be done right. Their home made yogurt is a gem, however. And the back garden is lovely. But those cant really make up for shaming a classic French street food.

This place is amazing. Great atmosphere, amazing service and the food is ridiculous. Beef Wellington was a special entrée this weekend and it was perfectly prepared. Can’t go wrong at this place. Def recommend saving room for dessert.

This place is wonderful! The best part is the server, James, who is the best, most attentive person I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. The food is absolutely decadent, and on point every time. Would eat there every day if my waistline would allow it.

Really loved this place for breakfast. Had a fruit and yogurt crêpe and it was packed with fruit and deliciously creamy yogurt. Service was a little slow but the food made it worth it.

The iPad ordering system was super easy to use and was really convenient for ordering and paying the bill. I’ve never seen an iPad system before this but I think more restaurants should do it! The hot chocolate was treated like an art form– it was delicious and beautiful! The bruleed French toast was absolutely fantastic and the crêpe dishes we ordered were pretty tasty too! would definitely go again.

I visit H-burg every 5 or 10 years for high school reunions. This time was for the 50th. After a long drive I had a hankering for Panera, but found this place on Allegheny Street and decided to try it out. I was really impressed with the menu and the quality of the food ingredients and preparation. I had the dinner salad with greens, cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, almonds and grilled chicken. Also a piece of fresh zucchini bread. All was delish and the people were very nice. If I lived in H-burg I would be here often. Also a nice informal environment to just hang out and have a cup of coffee. As the reviewer said below«A true gem of a restaurant.»

I LOVEALLEGHENYCREAMERY&CREPES! Granted, I’ve only been there once, and wished I was staying in town longer to go back for a second meal the next day; or that I actually lived in Altoona so I could eat there more often! Seriously, though. The coffee and the quality fo the food was EXCELLENT. The service was impeccable. I ordered a traditional egg/meat/potatoes breakfast and was served so much food, I could not finish the meal. We also ordered the nutella crêpe and it was DELICIOUS! That crêpe did not last long on the plate! I like espresso, and the coffee here was really good(we had three cups each). Server was attentive and overall a good experience! Best yet? Their fabulous courtyard and bistro seating out front. They have live music once a week and it’s BYOB til they ge their liquor license. Everyone around us had huge portions and great looking dishes — salivating over the food the entire time we were there! Will go back!

Very good meal! Reasonably priced. Even messed up order, made it right and sent us home with the extra anyway.

Ordered the Allegheny Eggs Florentine. Try it; it’s fantastic. Exceptional customer service. This place is easily one of the best stops in the Altoona area.

I dined here for the first time on Sunday with some friends. We had a table outside in the courtyard which was very lovely. They use an iPad ordering system which was a bit cumbersome. We waited 45 minutes for our food and when it was finally delivered it was very cold. We had to track down a server… no one ever came to check in on us. We asked for drink refills and the wrong items were sent. We then asked to speak to a manager and expressed our disappointment in the wait, service and food quality. He was not very apologetic and said that they would have new meals prepared. He never offered to comp any part of the bill. I thought this was unusual given the many facets of failure. I will not be dining here again.

I was driving thru HWY99 and stumbled on a cute antique style restaurant with and modern twist. Staff is very friendly and the food is very diverse and all looks so so good, I couldn’t just pick one. So I didn’t, I picked 2 dishes(pulled pork crêpe and under the sea Benedict) as the iPad menu showed, is was as delicious as the pictures. I recommend trying all the dishes… thanks Unilocal

Don’t get me wrong, I love the food. It’s everything else that I don’t like. They’ve recently switched to a E-menu for every table. So, every table has one(1) iPad to order from. So the ordering experience is fragmented; while I order, you wait. Be careful not to move the menu too much, the sensors under the table might lose signal and erase your entire cart before the last person completes the order. The message showed up as «your table has been changed to 6» or something along those lines. I asked if we could just order from one of the waitresses instead but she said no. I pride myself on being a tech person. I love technology, but when it is used incorrectly it can be horrible. I agree with previous reviewer Rob B: this WILL be worth going back after they resolve this issue. If you’re a frequent flier it’s the same type of system they have in front of every seat bolted down to the table at the busy hubs, like ATL. Great system for one person. I suggest this place call up eTouchMenu and ask what they can do to help serve larger tables and not lose table assignments so easily. I do understand why they tried to go to a system like this, they have spread out seating and they want to improve things, so they do care. The devil is in the details…

I stopped in here for lunch in search of something a little less fast food and a little more hidden gem while I was in town. I considered a chicken crêpe but said«The heck with healthy! They have a fudge brownie crêpe!» I ordered my fudge brownie crêpe a la mode. It was a little piece of heaven in a small Pennsylvania town. It was so incredibly delicious and decadent. I was incredibly pleased with my decision to let the kid in me live that afternoon!

This is the one place that I always want to go for breakfast when I am home. I unfortunately have never been for dinner, so I cannot provide a review for dinner. The breakfast is incredible. I would much rather eat breakfast here than any of the breakfast locations in Arlington, Va/DC. When you are here, you don’t feel like you are in Blair County anymore. It’s a nice, small atmosphere. The fresh fruit crêpe is amazing. They also have good coffee. I highly recommend for breakfast.

Probably the best French onion soup I’ve ever had, even better than what I’ve tried in Paris. The panini and creeps were also very good. One of the best parts is the atmosphere. You can clearly see the passion in what they do. They are excited to tell you about the specials and new recipes they’ve created and the expansion project underway. This is the type of place you know they are thinking about local seasonal products and a menu that reflects it. Definitely worth going out of your way to try.
