We have been to a lot of Chinese buffets and this one has the worst service of all! First, when we walked in, we were met with a snarled look by one of the wait staff. We should have sensed the non-verbal cue that our experience here will not be pleasant. We picked this restaurant thinking we still have around 2 hours before they close. The sign on the door clearly says they’re open till 10PM. We were shocked the employees started disassembling the buffet at 8:45PM. The manager turned off the TVs and a large section of the lights. By 9:30, she went around and demand payments from the customers. We questioned the sign on the door and she insist they close at 9:30, not 10PM. We felt sorry for the family who just walked in not too long and she allowed them in only to push them to hurry up and leave. A lot of the food on the buffet are mislabeled. Better items that should have been there were missed. Food quality is not the best. There are many restaurants in the area, you can skip this one!

If you don’t mind little kids with out there parents getting plates of food. Blowing the steam from under the spit guard. Parents keep your kids at the table and get there food. For that the food is ok. I’d rather go to China Inn. The day I was there the food was cold.

The booths are too big I have to sit up. the raw stuff is always kind of messy. But the food is good and at a great price. can’t go wrong with a buffet..

Large buffet with a very friendly staff. Sushi is ok for a Buffet. Taco bar and stir fry bar are very good. Food selections include duck, roast, peel shrimp, ribs and even oysters. Deserts, salad and ice cream also included. You won’t leave hungry!

Food is old on the Buffet as they don’t replenish or replace often. Dry, plain tasting, and wondering if they know what sauces are used in the orient.

I’ve post the photo(which appears to have been removed) of their cooks, wearing maroon shirts with their aprons on, inside the garbage dumpster out back, with Waverley Ave clearly in the back ground. There are no other restaurants in that sort of «strip mall» that would use that dumpster, it is unmistakeable. I used to eat here often when it first opened before I moved north a bit, and I would say at that time it was the best buffet in Holland. Just be warned, this is a point of severe concern. Feel free to contact me if you would like the see the photo for yourself.

Large buffet with a lot to choose from. Decent quality meat. They also have Sushi and an hibachi grill. It was packed. Price was very reasonable. For lunch with drink was $ 9.01. The only annoying think was that they cleared my drink when I went up for dessert. You will find Chinese dishes as well as American dishes here. There is also a soft serve machine.

Great variety, but not so great quality. Went after 1pm and I think everything had been left out since they opened. It’s edible, but don’t expect anything super tasty. It’s fine for the price. I didn’t try the hibachi, but I imagine that would be better than what’s on the buffet.

this was a weird visit. we walked in because the open sign was on, only to be told they don’t open until 11am(it was 10:30) I asked if we could grab a seat and get our drinks while we wait… he said no, non of the servers could get us drinks for 30 minutes. so no big deal we left and came back at 11:05. We were then told it would be 20 minutes to wait but we could grab a booth. so we sat there, we could see that there was hot steaming delicious smelling food ready at the buffet. then we sat and watched as servers went and got plates of food, sat down and started eating. Finally we decided to just go get food, since no one ever told us it was ready. Despite the annoying and unusual wait 20 – 25 minutes after the open time, the food was awesome, especially for a buffet. The bourbon chicken was fantastic!!!

You gotta love a place that opens at 11, sits 5 tables of people, and tells every table that the food won’t be ready for 10 – 15 minutes. We can clearly see the food sitting there waiting for us. I don’t care that the salad bar isn’t ready, I plan on stuffing an EXHORBINATE amount of food down my gullet, and I can guarantee that nobody else here waiting cares about salad either. Other than that, the food was good.

It’s hard to please everyone when your traveling. We found this place to be good for the entire family. They even brought me a fresh banana when asked.

Not bad but not great. Some dishes were very hot, some were luke warm. Decent variety. Most dishes were quite greasy. The wall next to my booth was very dirty which got me thinking what the kitchen might look like and after that I couldn’t possibly give it more than 3 stars. If you are staying at the Doubletree across the street, you’re hungry and you don’t have a car it will do.

I drove by this place about 20 times feeling very skeptical about whether or not to give it a try. However, after hear about a dozen positive reviews from people in town I decided to give it a shot. I was impressed. The food was hot, the variety was good, it was clean, and the food was as fresh you’ll get from a buffet. I put this place to the test and ate sushi, clams, shrimps, prawns, and just about everything else. No hint of feeling bad at all! Only downside was dated décor that was a bit aged and it doesn’t look like much from outside.

There’s a large variety of food. The buffet area, especially the Mongolian Barbecue area was unkempt. Food everywhere! Much of the food I tried was dried and tasted like it was sitting out all day and maybe it was. The place was busy but it had a lot of seating. I would have enjoyed it more if it was cleaner.

Finally… Kuge can REVIEW… Grand King Buffet. It’s shame that whenever Kuge visits Michigan, and more specifically, Holland, that their aren’t many other Unilocalers who review places. Luckily, your savior has arrived in the form of a 25 year old man whose race is pretty ambiguous. Kuge is strictly speaking from the heart when he says that even after moving to Las Vegas, Grand King Buffet is hands down THEBEST All You Can Eat(AYCE) Chinese buffet that he’s ever been to. They have a superb Chinese cuisine menu that covers all of The Great One’s favorite foods. They have a pretty decent(smallish) amount of American food as well a tacos, fajitas, salads, sushi, etc. Most other AYCE places that The People’s Champ has been to always look like a warzone, some food is luke warm, service is meh. With Grand King it is spacious, the staff is always friendly, everything is always fresh and hot(which still amazed Kuge on how that is even possible). Kuge loves just about everything they have available to eat, and on top of that they have FREEICECREAM! Many other AYCE places have poorer selections, warm food(not hot) and do cost 2x+ the price of Grand King. Kuge honestly doesn’t know how they pull it off with such great execution. Normally with the quality of food(above average, not the best but still good Chinese) by itself this would be 4 rock bottoms out of 5. But with the value, experience, feel, selection, and comparatively with other AYCE’s, or other Chinese food establishments in General in Holland and probably the greater West Michigan Area. This place gets 5 rock bottoms out of 5 and for Pete’s sake, if you haven’t been here yet. GONOW or I’ll personally check you into the Smackdown Hotel myself! If ya SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLL… what Kuge… is cookin…

All You can Eat Buffet, mainly Chinese, with smatterings of other Asian and American cuisine. You can eat everything from Sushi to General Tso Chicken, Cinnamon rolls, and even Cottage Cheese. It’s a fun place, and strangely enough probably some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in Holland. It’s kinda far from downtown, so unfortunately it probably doesn’t make it onto many peoples’ radars. It was nice hearing Faye Wong playing. The Cantonese that the staff was speaking was also music to my SF ears.
