This place was just OK. I came here on a Saturday morning with the husband. We were drawn to it because it wasn’t super packed and we were both hungry. We each tried one of the breakfast casseroles which were small and nothing to brag about. The pumpkin muffin was pretty good. I told the lady taking our order that we had never been there before so we may be a minute and instead of making suggestions or just saying that’s fine take your time, she just acted like we were being such a pain in the a$$. I probably won’t be back. There are too many good restaurants around to come back here.

Very quaint, from the tin ceiling to comfortable seating areas throughout. I had no idea what to order for breakfast because of an egg allergy, but the staff was very helpful and gave me some great suggestions. There are lots of bagel selections & other options for breakfast. Lunch offerings range from bagel sandwiches, wraps, salad, & soups. Oh… and the coffee is good!

I’ve never had anything bad at Good Earth. The staff has always been friendly and the wait to get your food is not long. There is outside seating available when the weather is nice. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town!

We had come in before looking at the menu saying that we needed to come back, and so we did. My sister, my dad, and I came here for lunch and so my sister and I also got a coffee. I got the what might be called the honey granola latte. It was good, but the my Roast Beef BLT sandwich was just ok. The size was also kind of small. I felt like it might be what I’d consider a half sandwich size for me. The prices seem to be a bit high for the value and portion of what I got. I think there’s better sandwich options in the city. It’s a great spot for gatherings and very open and welcoming. I would just stop in for the coffee next time.

I went here yesterday morning and ordered a bagel sandwich to go. It was a toasted onion bagel with vegetable cream cheese, sliced onion, lox(smoked salmon), and capers. The service was fast and friendly. The fast service is important especially for people that go to work in the AM. Big Apple Bagel should take note, as their service is pitifully slow. The sandwich was delicious and I highly recommend it for anyone that likes lox. The salmon was super fresh and was thinly cut though they gave a liberal helping. They gave a liberal amount of capers and just the right amount of cream cheese. The onions were very thinly sliced. As a cook myself, I know these little things to be important. I mean, who wants to eat a mouthful of onion! My chief complaint involved the bagel itself. As I mentioned I ordered the sandwich on a toasted onion bagel. The bagel was not toasted properly. It was still doughy and soft. I wish the bagel was properly toasted. James Beard, a famous chef, notes that when toasting the bread should take a brownish hue and should be crisp. Neither was the case with my bagel. Nonetheless, despite my criticism, The Good Earth seems to be the better of the two options when comparing it to the The Big Apple Bagel.

Too salty. Too sticky. Too gluten-ey. For the Buzzkill, eating food can be like ramming a McRib Sandwich down a PVC pipe with a plunger handle. Both traumatic and oddly arousing. Is eating foie gras a sensual, gastronomic experience, or is it a hetero-normative act fraught with political overtones? Instead, take Buzzkill to the Good Earth Café in Holland. Serving breakfast and lunch, the café bakes their bagels from scratch. Their menu, which focuses on sweet and savory breads, wraps and soups, is highlighted by vegan-friendly . Even the Buzzkill will find something to like.

Good Earth Café is pretty good for breakfast. My picks: French Toast w/Maple Cream Cheese or Dutch Apple Bagel w/Apple Cinnamon Cream Cheese.

Sweet people. Because something is not on the menu doesn’t mean they can’t do it, so ask what’s hot. Artsy environs. An enjoyable place when you just want a decent sandwich but you have to be hip to the avant garde style this place exudes. Maybe they are more like a 3.5 but they were so upbeat and cool I enjoyed it.

Name is very misleading. Not too clean and the food is low quality. Had my hopes up that Holland may actually have a high quality, healthy eating option but I was wrong. Subway is better than this place.

hhhmmm. Riddle me this, Batman! How can a place that pushes GREEN, smell like bleach water? Fromt the moment we sat down, all I can smell is that icky dirty bleach rag the server is using everywhere… food was just OK… I’ve had better chicken salad sandwiches.

This was our second visit to Good Earth and we were pleased both times. My daughter had the mac and cheese(Yankee Doodle) and I really enjoyed the cheesy chicken salad that was served open faced. Here is the amazing part… I lost a heavy silver bracelet that Saturday & had little hope that it would be returned. I called about 8 stores asking if it had been turned in — no luck. When I got through to Good Earth on Monday(closed on Sunday), they checked and said they had it. I am back in Colorado and they are going to send it to me. It is great the the staff of Good Earth are honest and helpful.

The bagel chips are the best! I like that there’s a comfy couch to sit on while you wait for your takeout. I will sometimes eat here two days in a row. My favorite lunch here is the Green Thumb — shredded carrots, green pepper, tomatoes, cream cheese and sunflower seeds in a spinach tortilla wrap. Fair amount of other vegetarian options. Expect to pay $ 8-$ 10 for your lunch.

Good Earth has a great selection of sandwiches — what they fail to tell you is that they microwave every sandwich. When asking for your sandwich cold, the staff is less than friendly about it.

Amazing bagels, excellent coffee, wonderful décor and seating! I love this place because it has a cozy, private feeling wherever you sit and it’s a great place for just getting coffee with friends or even getting lunch! All of the food is amazing. Plus, this place doesn’t get quite as busy as the regular coffee/lunch places right on 8th street! Also, try the gourmet cookies, they’re soooo good. Downside: new minimum credit card purchase(understandable but frustrating to me!), and the staff isn’t that friendly, especially if you come near close which is at the early time of 4pm.

I’ve been to the Good Earth for breakfast and lunch a few times. The bagels are excellent, and while it’s not traditional, the hummus with dill is quite good as well. I really enjoy the bagel chips, as it’s a nice change from the usual potato chips that you get at most sandwich places. The coffee is decent, but not exceptional. Great place for lunch. While it gets busy, it never seems nearly as chaotic as some of the restaurants on 8th St.

I eat lunch here at least a couple times per week. They’ve got great soups and sandwiches. The staff may seem a little cold at first, but they are great once you get to know them.

The name is what brought my mom and I in to this place… The Good Earth is a great book so naturally a café named The Good Earth must have equally fabulous food and coffee… WRONG! For starters the interior was no clean, the place wasn’t too busy so there was no excuse for poor cleanliness. The coffee… was WEAK and so hot(burn potential) that we had to wait a good 15 minutes to try it. Beyond that I thought the decorating was bizarre… there were 3 different styles going on and it just put me off.

We went here by chance, as it was conveniently in walking distance from the City Flats hotel. There’s plenty of parking if you’re not on foot. Inside is a mix of tables, couches, and to the side is the order line. There are plenty of breakfast choices — from bagels to casseroles to wraps, as well as lunches with panini’s and salads. Lots of specials based on the season. Oh coffee and tea seem to be big sellers, my husband said the coffee was delicious. I ordered a side of hummus with a small bag of bagel chips. He had a breakfast wrap. He loved it thanks to the spinach tortilla, and wolfed it down. I started to eat my hummus but to my utter disgust it had dill and what I think was horseradish in it. I’m allergic to dill. Gag inducing allergic, and really I don’t like horseradish in my hummus. The bagel chips were good and so was my Diet Squirt. Prices were reasonable and service was efficient. Good for everyone except those who want a good hummus experience.
