Daddios Carry Out

Tried for the first time today. OMG, SO MUCH FOOD!!! Got the rib dinner; that included 3 sides and corn bread. I choose collard greens, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. Ribs were slathered in finger-​licking homemade new sauce that SO delicious I wanted to lick my container! I have never had collard greens before and regret to inform I am not a fan, but I think they were done right. There was lots of flavor on top on flavor in those greens and there was turkey in them. Mac and cheese was good with the noodles cooked perfect al Dante with a real simple creamy cheese sauce (way better than Hog Wild’s). The baked beans reminded my of my grandma’s Brown sugar and molasses baked beans as a kid. The cornbread was classic, not too sweet, baked to perfection with a crispy crust.
Ladies at the counter were friendly. Super cute inside — almost too cute eat messy ribs in:)
I’m going back to try the fried chicken and more!

Our first visit to Daddios was yesterday and we are totally on board. We had the chicken and shrimp as well as mac n cheese, collard greens, corn, mashed potatoes and green beans. Simply put, this place must be on your «go to» list for sure. Comfort food at its finest. Kudos to the owners and staff!

This place is definitely a gem in a town full of mediocrity. Chelle and her husband always treat me like family. The catfish is fried to order and tastes amazing, as do the ribs. The greens are awesome. So much flavor. Stop in this place now!

O.M.G i love this place, it brings the soul to Holland MI, the food is great, the prices are great and they have a new dine in comming soon… i will be there faithfully because it doesnt get better than home cooked fresh foods, my favorite its the Rib dinner with greens, mac & cheese, and butternut squash.- 5 star all day long.

Good down home cooking and generous portions. Very strange and sometimes extremely rude service. I used to love this place and have recommended it to all my friends. The first few times I picked up food from there the owner was incredibly nice. But the last 2 times I’ve been there, the owner was so incredibly rude I was completely taken aback. I can’t pinpoint anything I said or did to make her treat me with such disrespect. My roommate said she’ll never go back based on the way I was treated. Too bad because it is the best place to get southern style greens.

We used to come here almost every week to get some of that delicious fried chicken… But recently had to stop because of the rudeness, lack of customer service, & spoiled side dishes from letting it set out all day long. We have even tried a couple times to order ahead to be told that food would be ready in an hour, we arrive, food still isn’t done, & we are greeted with rudeness. Sometimes we are told, «too bad, that’s all we have» or «hurry up its time for me to get outta here». She (the owner) is sometimes so rude, I had to ask my fiancé if he knows her personally cuz of the way she talks to him & no he doesn’t. There is no set menu. What u see, is what u get… we won’t be returning to this place anytime soon.

Wow. Everything we ate was beyond delicious. And the owners are such lovely people. If I lived here I would eat here all the time! We had the rib tip dinner and catfish with collard greens, gumbo, yams and Mac & cheese.

Absolutely fantastic, just excellent food and the owner is very sweet. Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable meal that reminded of eating at my grandma’s house. I really think its one of the best if not the best restaurants in Holland.

I absolutely love this place! It’s is very small in size huge in flavor and hospitality.
My favorite dish is the catfish dinner… so crispy and delicious. The portions here are well worth the price. The people who own and run Daddio’s are super nice and will help you decide if you are confused.
Don’t go here if you are looking for fancy only if you are looking for great food.

Few places are worth driving out of the way on a road trip but this is worth the extra miles. We discovered Daddio’s Carry Out when trying to find a unique place for lunch a few years back.
The hospitality is wonderful as the former Chicagoans offer suggestions. For this visit, we brought our kids. Our family of four chose three meats and six sides to share. We chose catfish, ribs and chicken with collard greens, gumbo, Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, green beans and broccoli and cheese. While we waited for our food, we sat outside in the newly added tables and chairs.
The fried chicken has a delicious seasoning and perfect crispness, the catfish was my husbands favorite and the ribs were tender with the right amount of sauce. Collard greens and gumbo were our favorite sides. We all ate well and had some left over for $ 31.

Love this place!
As soon as I walked in I felt like I was home. The lady that helped me I would be proud to call mom. The food was excellent, hot, and fresh. Chicken was crispy and perfectly done. I tried collard greens for the first time, now I’m a fan.

Found this place on Unilocal while passing through Holland at supper time. It’s a little off the beaten path, but well worth it. My family and I enjoyed it.
I had the Rib Dinner and it was excellent. The ribs were slow cooked and smothered in a barbecue sauce that had sweetness and fire that worked together brilliantly.
While it did take a little for our order to come together, we got a chance to get to know the people that own this business and they are some of the best people you will meet. They even offered samples of some of their food to make the ordering process more interesting.
The prices seem a little high at first blush, but they make up for it with monstrous portions that provide enough for another meal. They even offered us a little extra food before we left.
If you are ever in Holland, I recommend stopping by. You will not be sorry.

I was staying somewhere nearby and drove by this place. The name was funny so I pointed it out to my girlfriend who said «We HAVE to go there.» I would have been skeptical but it turned out to be the best meal I’ve had in a while. The fried chicken was amazing. The sides were all wonderful. The people were friendly and funny and the prices very reasonable. They were also more than generous with helpings, patient while we figured out what we wanted, and they offered to let us taste samples of anything. I’m pretty sure she gave me the shrimp and grits for free, too, because I said I had never had them before but was wowed by them. Definitely a find!

I found this place through Unilocal while at a softball tournament in Holland, MI. It was less than a mile from the ballpark (Matt Urban Sports Complex). The girls were in between games and needed some lunch. They all wanted the spaghetti side and the woman suggested I order the fried chicken meal with 3 sides of spaghetti (to help me save $ 10!). The woman threw in 3 roles to round out the meal for me and the kids. The kids loved their spaghetti and the fried chicken was the best I’ve had in a long time — in particular the chicken leg. Just the right amount of crisp, saltiness and tender meat. Yum! I can’t wait to go back and try the ribs and the po’ boy.

I love their ribs. The flavor is fantastic. And they have the BEST greens with smoked turkey, a little spicy. Hours can be a little sporadic, so if you’re in the neighborhood, hungry and they’re open, stop in!

I have eaten here a few times. The place is tiny, in fact you pretty much have to get your food carry out. But if you taste the food, you won’t care! They make the best catfish I have had north of the Mason Dixon. :D
They specialize in southern food, and all of it is amazing. They have a shrimp poor boy that is great, amazing cole slaw, good chicken.
The people who own it are just wonderfully friendly.
I only wish it was bigger, and that they made burgers, too.

Fantastic Barbecue sauce! The owners are extremely nice and friendly. The chicken is yummy and everything is home made. They have great veggie wraps and specials. The collared greens are amazing, so are the red beans and rice. The prices are also fantastic, very inexpensive for a lot of food. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Holland.
