What a lovely experience we had on our honeymoon at the Centennial Inn! Location is so close to the downtown area that we were able to walk almost anywhere we wanted to go while on vacation. We stayed in the MaryLou room, which was the king suite. Lovely jacuzzi tub, huge bed, and a fireplace completed the room. Owners were kind, hospitable, and willing to meet all of our needs. A light breakfast was offered every morning with fantastic muffins that we thoroughly enjoyed! Not sure about the other reviewers experience, but if you plan to check out this B&B, keep in mind that it IS a residence, there are people who live in the home. I truly feel that’s part of the bed and breakfast experience, as you get much closer customer service in this way. The only critique I would provide is possibly to upgrade the older tv’s, as they are quite old. However, it was cool for our stay because who really goes to holland, Michigan for the tv?! Do not pass this opportunity up. Check out the centennial inn, you won’t regret it!

This did not meet my expectations. I feel the price is on the high side given what you get. The positives: on site parking is easy to access. The building is old and has attractive period woodwork in the common areas. There is cable TV. There is free wifi although the signal was poor in my room on the top(third) floor. There is 24 hour access with your key. There is a breakfast. There are homey decorations. The negatives: the older lady running the place had a hard time understanding my reservation and took 10 – 15 minutes figuring out her own notes. A family lives on the first floor and is there with their door open so there is this weird feeling you are interrupting somebody’s house. The bed had only mattress and no box spring. The mattress is old and hard. The TV is a 15″ cathode ray tube with plastic flowers on top. A blinking digital clock was not re-set after the last power outtage. The windows open but there are no screens to keep out bugs. The temperature was 59 degrees out but the air conditioning was on and could not be adjusted in the room. In my bath the ceiling slopes over the toilet so a man cannot do #1 while standing. The breakfast is instant oatmeal with no milk. The pillows are polyfill. There is no dresser or drawers, nor a stand to lay open a suitcase, nor a table to write at. In all fairness, this applies only to one room; others may have more furniture. There is a small 1970s cane chair with cushions on it. Also, no shampoo or conditioner, so bring your own.
