This company is completely unreliable — they do not follow up or stick to their own time tables. They also do not return messages promptly or file paperwork timely. This company came out to quote my home for new windows in 2013 after we met a representative at a home show. At the time, I did not feel the quoted price was within my budget so I declined. Nearly a year later, I received a call from the owner, Josh, stating that the quote had been incorrect. Apparently he’d outsourced the quotes for a while and upon review realized they were all too high. He offered to send a guy out to re-quote us for the work. Since we’d not had anyone else come out to install windows yet, we agreed. The 2nd quote was much more reasonable and we agreed to have R&R install double-pane windows with hurricane shutters. We put down a deposit the same day(late-January) and were told that when the windows came in, they’d contact us for installation dates. We were given a 6 – 8 week range for delivery. Three months later, my husband called to follow up since we’d not heard anything yet. He was told 6 – 8 weeks was wrong and that windows are never available that quickly. He was not given a new estimate at that time. Again, three months went by and we’d not heard anything again. My husband called and after several unanswered messages was told again that the windows had not come in yet, but that R&R would be in touch. In early September, we finally received a call stating the windows had come in and scheduled installation for the 9th(nearly 8 months after we put down a deposit). The day of, one guy showed up to install 10 windows by himself. My husband ended up helping him carry/maneuver a few as they were rather heavy. It took him over 12 hours to complete the installation. He mentioned that one of the window frames had significant damage and should be repaired. He spoke to Josh(the owner) and told us Josh would be in touch with contact info for someone who could take care of it since R&R could not. The installer also mentioned that had he been informed ahead of time the size of the job, he’d have brought a 2nd worker to help out so it wouldn’t have been such a long, tough day. At the time of the quote, we were told R&R would provide paperwork for a manufacturer rebate. Instead of leaving this paperwork, I had to call and text multiple times before Josh confirmed he’d submitted it a month after installation. It is now a month later and I am still waiting for the rebate(and Josh to follow up with them) They also mentioned our electric company would likely offer a rebate. I had to repeatedly contact Josh after installation to get the specific information that Duke Energy needed as well as have him complete the paperwork. I’d had the paperwork ready and available the day of installation, but the installer didn’t feel qualified to complete it(it included ratings, measurements, and a signature). In addition, the hurricane shutters have still not been installed. A month after installation(when I’d finally gotten in touch with Josh despite numerous messages to both the cell and work numbers and text messages), he stated it was an oversight and he’d bring them by the following week. That was a month ago and I’m still following up with him to see when he will get them. Feel free to note that hurricane season is practically over at this point — luckily we haven’t needed them, but we did pay for them so that’s no excuse.
