I went here with a friend. Patron shots were served in plastic shot cups though which was a little lame. If I’m paying for top shelf, present it as such. Saw a dude with a man bun with two bottles of open beer in his back pockets. Needless to say it’s a good crowd, super high energy.

Came on a Thursday night. Not on the immediate Hoboken strip. Big space that is well situated. Two bars. When we went there was a bunch of people there from a kickball league so it was active. They have beer pong available. DJ had a good playlist running all night. There was no cover but I heard there is one some nights. Drinks weren’t too rough. $ 16 for a Whiskey Sour and Ginger Jameson.

Tries to be an «upscale» location, but just fails miserably mainly because of the cover charge. Look at what happened to Bahama Mama and you can see it happening to West Five(hell I’ve been hearing it’s supposed to close down, but idk how true that it). Go with a big group, there’s a HUGE dance floor, but music is okay. It doesn’t help that it’s pretty far from the other places, so this is one of those you might have to commit to staying at. $ 30 open bar isn’t bad Hit or miss with bartenders, one does a great job, but one is just okay at best.

Pretty cool place away from the congested bars along Washington and near the path. Reasonably priced, awesome décor and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend visiting if you want a fun night in Hoboken without the big crowds.

Just wow. I was concerned about getting a cab back from this place to the train station to catch the late night train home. I called ahead and spoke with the manager asking him several questions, as he assured me the bouncers would find me a ride no problem though the shuttle would not take me there. When leaving the place and needing a cab, I asked the bouncers to get me one and they told me to stand on the corner and hail one myself. I did not see any cabs in sight and was so far from the train station that I had to run to try to catch my train. I missed this last train home, as I was counting on having a ride and not having to run in heels. I had to take the path to NYC to catch a train back. This place forced me to travel unsafely late at night when I tried to get details upfront and the manager assured me there were plenty of cabs and I’d be fine – horrible experience.

This place is Certified Wack-sauce Had fun cuz of the people we went with… But this place is meh Its the typical hoboken crowd with the typical dj who manages to turn every song into a techno song . The bartender white boy ginger had my tab open all night yet still asked me my name everytime. Even tho thebar was empty lol. Wouldnt really go back … Not into the bland crowds in hoboken. Just take an extra 15 min and go into the city Bouncers look like pill heads if you know what i mean

$ 10 cover at 1:30 in the morning? F that! Wouldn’t have done it if the rest of my group didn’t insist. Why do strangers think it’s okay to touch? One dude literally grabbed my ass 3 times, and I told him if he did it again, I’d grab twist and pull. Don’t touch me, you weirdos! Creepy predatory Patrick Bateman vibe happening here. Couldn’t leave fast enough. Fist pump elsewhere.

Was here for their New Year’s eve bash and the place got really out of hand(far beyond the typical chaos), lots of broken glass and people getting hurt, lots of fights breaking out and the staff did little to nothing about it. Very very disappointing; at the minimum I would’ve expected the bouncers to get involved. Wouldn’t return here; it was really nice inside, really good music, and the food was good, but the over-intoxicated, violent crowd inside, the facility maintenance(ie glass EVERYWHERE, spills EVERYWHERE, and unfortunately a horrific bathroom), and the staff conduct could not be outweighed. Could not really enjoy myself in a place where I’m constantly afraid I’m gonna get hit by the errant fist of one of the drunken patrons. Wish this place would look out for its customers a little more, they didn’t seem to care about the lawlessness, just about covering their butts. I saw them push a girl who’d gotten hurt inside(by the glass on the floor and by another patron) right out the door instead of addressing her issue and maybe helping her get medical attention, or even removing her drunken attacker. Any sort of accident like that should be addressed with immense amounts of care and immediate attention. Witnessing that sort of interaction really skeeved me out, made the place seem super cold and dangerous, I couldn’t wait to get out of there, really hope they work on these issues, for safety’s sake.

Nice little place off the beaten path from the main bars. A much more mellow experience the anything over on washing They have a few good beers on tap and the typical cheap beers. The dance floor is great the lounge style area is really great and has a very chill vibe, with comfy seats, good DJ and dancing without being packed in shoulder to shoulder, not a lot of the young clubber types which is a huge plus id says mostly 24+ on weekends. Very friendly staff too. The down side is for a place calling itself a supper club the food is not very good, the went here with a large group of people and for several other trips there for events and every time everyone has been pretty disappointed, either they were missing some portion of what it was supposed to be made with or include, it was grossly under cooked or slightly burnt, one time is fluke, two times is bad luck, but 3 times is a pattern . Also for a more mellow place they really crank the music, its a bit too loud, on a Saturday night late into the evening that’s ok but for other things and events it makes having a conversation there a bit too hard. P.S they have a shuttle service too which is really awesome of them! But be warned when the dude says he will be there in 5 minutes, you will be getting that same answer for like 25 minutes.

So to begin, West Five Supper Club is a weird name for anyplace let alone a bar. It does have a decent amount of space especially for Zogsports Cornhole and beer games. It gets a little messy at those times — midweek nights — so locals and visitors beware. The beer on tap is decent although generally limited, they often run out of those labels I like but… they do have a bar in the front and the back. Short, Hispanic bartender is nice(back usually) and encourages anyone willing to shoot a ping pong ball into a glass in an attempt to get a free shot. And generally staff is nice. Bathroom is a bit worn and the women’s layout is extremely tight — one stall’s door opens a crack, only a super skinny woman could fit through. The music is alright, not exactly my favorite mix but occasionally I’m surprised. Biggest issue is that its extremely LOUD! They do have a shuttle service available so make sure you call and ask, especially for groups.

This is my second time coming here. Unfortunately it was just as lame as the first time. Let me start by saying this place is really nice. I see they have done some construction since last time i was here by adding many more VIP tables in the back by the dance floor. The music was great, i got some parmesan cheese covered fries cause i was starving and they were fantastic. Overall no complaints with the atmosphere or food. My problem was the drinks. I paid $ 40 for open bar because it seemed like a reasonably cheap idea. I drank 8 gin & tonics and i was sober. If they put 1oz of gin in each drink id be surprised. Im kind of pissed i paid for the open bar, its not really worth it. Maybe i should have just gotten beers. Also all the girls here are coming here for«girls night out» or they are here with their boyfriends. Plan on bringing girls because finding them will be difficult… Don’t get me wrong, they are all beautiful because this place is nice, but they are all taken or standing in a circle of 8 other girls hiding from any dude that looks in their direction. Nice spot overall, but bring girls and pregame HARD.

I enjoy coming to the West Five. It is away from Washington street but they provide free shuttle service which is amazing especially if you are wearing heels and hate walking in them(me). I feel like bouncers are typically arrogant and it doesn’t change here. They do have a coat check area. The place is pretty big but it gets crowded fast and you can either get your drinks in the front bar or in the back room(dance area). Either way you kind of have to slide your way through a few people to get the bartenders attention. But once you do, you get your drink(s) fast. The drinks are good and the DJs are great… they make sure to keep the entire back room dancing all night.

So, we gave this place a second chance last night for a Halloween/birthday party and had a much better experience. We came with a large group of about 25 people and did the open bar again. The place was super packed but the bartenders did great. I never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a drink at both bars(the front and back). As usual, their drinks were pretty strong, in tall cups and not watered down. I still think some of their bouncers are jerks. I get that they’re probably jaded from dealing with drunk idiots every weekend but they could be more respectful to the customers. The bartenders are cool though and so was the coat check girl she was such a sweetheart. The dance floor is still sticky and not easy to dance on. The manager said this is because they put a special wax coating down so people don’t slip, fall or die which makes sense because of all the drunk white girls in high heels. But it does make it kind of difficult to dance with your shoes sticking. All in all, I think I would come back here even though I’m not a club person. It’s spacious, fun atmosphere, beautiful interior and excellent drinks. So, if you like clubs, West Five is for you.

I originally reviewed for new years eve event here which was awesome. So i got an email from this place for a deal to thank me for spending new years there. The deal was 3 shared dishes and 2 drinks for $ 25(for 2 people). SO I took them up on their offer. The place is very nice. Our sever was also really nice and Thursday night they had zog sports in the back playing beer pong. Cocktails were yummy and good quantity. We ordered the shrimp, rib eye sliders, and mac and cheese. The dishes were a very good size and presented well. The mac and cheese was really cheesy and not just crap mac and cheese, it was good mac and cheese. However, there was some kind of leaf in the mac and cheese that gave it a tiny hint of something weird. I cant describe the hint i got in the after taste that I wasn’t too fond of. I really wanted to eat the mac & cheese because it just looked so good and cheesy but the after taste kept getting to me. The rib eye sliders were really good. 4 in a dish. I was really looking forward to the caramelized onions. The beef was really tasty but the bun had a tiny bit of a sauce on it that was over powering. It made the slider almost too tasty. My friend had the shrimp and she was really fond of the dish and finished the whole thing. I’d be interested in trying other dishes. I wasn’t expecting a meal deal from the restaurant so that was a big plus and speaks well of their marketing strategies and customer service. Lastly, on their facebook page there was a # for their free shuttle which i tried to call since live on the opposite side of town but the # wasn’t working. Having a shuttle for people to get picked up is awesome for a place to do but I hope they actually offer it rather than just say they do and the phone is never answered. I saw the shuttle in front waiting to take people home but being picked up would also be amazing.

There are many bars in Hoboken, NJ as we all know. The West Five Supper Club is away from the regular Washington Street hustle and bustle and worth the walk in. The prices are right, bartenders/bouncers are nice, and the atmosphere is different from your average Hoboken bar. It is a nice change. To top it off, they provide transportation to the bar with their own mini-van. I wish I knew about this service before taking a cab to the bar, but will definitely be taking advantage of this mini-van in the future.

Went for a friends birthday party, they were great with setting it up. It was kind of expensive though and got very very crowded later at night. The bartenders DID get to everyone very fast, and I never had to wait much, the music was good, and the coat check was easy — huge kudos to the girl at the coat check who told me to take a pic of my tag in case I lost it(I’m sure that happens a lot but I had never heard it before and thought it was pretty genius) Sorry only 3 starts because I have been to hoboken a lot to visit friends and I think there are cheaper and less crowded places that are just as fun.

The West Five Supper Club is a little bit far from the main part of Hoboken, so prepare yourself for a little walk to find this place! Recently, I had a poor experience here. I’m just glad my friend the birthday boy had a great time! The line situation was kind of long– a lot of people in front of me left because they were waiting for around 30 or so minutes. I personally wasn’t too thrilled with the way some of the bouncers handled themselves… under no circumstance, especially if the patron isn’t drunk, should the bouncer ever put their hands on someone… especially a girl. but hey, what can you do? However, what makes this place stand out that Chris from The West Five Supper Club took the time to reach out to me about my recent poor experience here– it was greatly appreciated. If my friends and I do drop by, we will be sure to ask for him.

So after my 3rd visit here, I’ve decided this place is due for an upgrade from me. All of my issues from my first visit have been remedied and then some. Service? All over it. Actual glass cups for drinks? Check. Silverware without having to ask. Oh yeah. And for good measure, they now have an amuse bouche with the meal(tonight was a generous shot glass of Cream of Mushroom Soup with Truffle Oil). The change the menu every season, and I’ve now had the summer menu twice and been happy both times. Here is the run down of the dishes: Special Item of Thai Spare Ribs — these were a special for the night(also apparently on the Sunday /Monday football menu)… 8 tender, fall off the bone ribs in a sweet and spicy sauce for $ 12. 8 awesome ribs for $ 12? Are you kidding me? Get this, and get it again when you are done. Buffalo Sliders with Goat Cheese — good… nothing magical here, but certainly works if you are in the mood for a burger. Chicken Dumplings — these came out fried with a thick, slightly spicy, Asian type sauce. While I was not expecting these to be fried, they were super tasty. I found myself using the chopped scallion garnish on the plate to try and soak up the sauce. Recommend this one for sure. Mussels — this was probably my least favorite item I’ve had here. They were ok, but after a few trips to Flex Mussels, anything else is bound to disappoint. Philly Cheese Steak Empanadas — unique and tasty, and comes with a thick cheese dipping sauce. Now… these are generously filled with the cheese, so you end up dipping your cheese filled fried dough in more cheese? Apparently so. These are good but woudl be better served with a not-cheese dipping sauce. Mac and Cheese — I really enjoyed their older version of this with the smoked gouda, but I guess when you sub that out for truffle oil and pork belly, you would be a fool to complain. This is an excellent dish, and a generous portion as well. Chicken Spring Rolls — fried, and yet light. The truffle honey mustard is basically a truffle honey(which is one of the best ingredients on earth) with a large grain mustard seed. Not gonna lie… I don’t exactly think the honey mustard is the perfect complienet to the spring rolls, but damn is it tasty. It took all the restraint I had not to take a spoon to eat the sauce on its own. Arrancini — fried cheese and rice balls with a marianra dipping sauce. Pretty standard for what it is… good, but normal. This place seems to have a quarterly habit of offering groupons /Living Social coupons for $ 25 to get you 3 plates and 2 drinks, which I cannot help but get every time. The plates are generous for the price(8 ribs for $ 12!!!), and most have bold and unique flavors. The service has grown into an attentive and friendly level that they should be proud of. I’m happy to add this to my list of must-go-to places in Hoboken.

You not have heard of this place since its in the back end of Hoboken. Well fear not, they have a shuttle to pick you up! Just don’t be oblivious like me and forget to tip. As soon as you walk in you will see improvements from the last place. The décor is a lot cleaner and swankier(is that a word?). The back room is still the dance/lounge room and the front area features seating. Don’t expect large dinners but instead a wide range of delicious tapas. I especially recommend the crab tostada. As far as drinks go, ladies get some freebies early Friday and guys shell out $ 2. I appreciate that guys don’t get left in the dust. Grab the shuttle and give it a go. Its worth a shot.
