A pipe burst in our apartment and flooded the first and second floors with about 2″ of water. The Servpro guys were there about 12 hours later (this is shy they get one star — because they were quick.) They set up dehumidifiers in each room. Those dehumidifiers ran 24 hours a day for 7 days. Then they used a moisture probe to check to see if the floors and walls were dry. I was told very confidently that everything was dry. A week later we pulled up the hard woods and all of the plywood subfloor was wet and moldy. Plus, the mold was creeping up the walls behind the baseboards. So their machines and their moisture probes didn’t work AT ALL.

I am the owner of a popular Downtown Jersey City barbershop which underwent significant flood damage this past weekend. We came into the shop in the morning to find abut 2 inches of water on the floor, a result of a neighboring business’s sump pump shorting overnight. I called ServePro and they were there promptly with what seemed an army of a crew dressed in green. They attacked my barbershop, were very careful not to damage anything (further) and kept me posted on every step of the process. Steve, the crew chief, was very friendly and informative and, despite having done another emergency job until 3am the night before, worked hard and made sure all the right steps were taken. I can honestly say that the shop now looks cleaner than the first day we opened. Thank you ServoPro of Hoboken! Although I hope to never need your services again, you are on top of the go-​to list!

A month ago, my washer overflowed and there was water everywhere in my apartment. The next morning, I called Servpro of Hoboken/​Union City and by one in the afternoon, they already had a crew at my apartment assessing the damage. Since they work directly with my insurance company, they were able to start the work right away. Before the end of the day, they have already placed dehumidifiers and blowers all over the place to make sure everything was properly dried. Since the floors and baseboards needed to be replaced, they removed all the floors and took all the debris with them. They came to the apartment every day to assess the situation and had me well informed about their progress.
The Servpro team was extremely professional. I have never been on a situation like this before, but they were very good at explaining and setting up my expectations about what needed to be done and the time it will take to complete it. They even recommended some local contractors who also worked with my insurance and could come and install the new floors.
They did charge the 125 estimate fee but it was reinbursed 100% once I hired them. I think it is fair for them to do that and filter out people who were not serious about hiring Servpro. Specially after Sandy. The damage in my apartment was done with relatively clean water and they had to use multiple machines to fix my place. I can’t imagine what was needed at places with dirty water from the Hudson.
Their service was excellent. I was impressed by how propfessional the ir team was and by how well kept their equipment and their cars are. I think that says a lot about how well run the company is. I definitely recommend them.

I own a business located in one of the worst flooding areas of Hoboken and «sadly» have had to use Servpro of Hoboken/​Union City quite a few times. In fact, for Irene, they even did the rebuild for me. I can’t say enough good things about them. For Sandy, my landlord thought it was a good idea to have them there when the inspector came and they had no problem when I called and asked them to come. I have recommended them to a couple of my customers and friends and they were pretty happy with them as well.
All I can say is Thank You for being so responsive and helpful in getting me up and running in no time.

Regarding restoration work after hurricane Sandy. I just wanted to let everyone know that Servpro told me they introduced a $ 125 fee to come round and give a quote, and that this fee was introduced after hurricane Sandy hit.

Servpro of Hoboken & Union City were great! We had an HVAC pipe snap and flooded our kitchen very bad with contaminated water. Servpro was able to come immediately. They cleaned everything up and used machines to dry out the walls.
Very professional and intelligent. The workers were sympathetic as well, allowing us to relax.
If you live in the area, I would keep this number in your phone in case something was to happen!
