I don’t think the pizza is very good and there’s really no excuse for having such an awesome location

Came by, had an Italian sub and it was LOADED with meat. I couldn’t finish the thing and best part of all it was under $ 10 with a drink. The restaurant is right outside of the path so it is perfect for a «before the meeting» type of meal.

Few days ago i was on my way home from work, and hungryyyyy. I was craving something italian but at the same time i was on a budget. So my bus didnt leave till an hour from then, so i decide to hit to this Pizzeria right across the bus terminal. OMGoodness i dont think ive had a better chk parmegian sandwich like this one. The bread was hot and soft(not crunchy like other places) and the chicken you could tell was fresh and not frozen. I complimented the counter chick on the food, and this is why i have to brag about this place. Hungry for a late night snack, hit up Rome’s pizzeria!!!

This was my second visit at this place & would rate it between 3.5 and 4 only because of the prices they charge. Cheap, solid pizzas . Born in EU& raised in Brooklyn makes it difficult to give it a 4. Grimaldi in Hob is a solid 4 if you want good pizza. Place is clean & from what I could pick from counter into the kitchen, looked clean too . So don’t let the negative stop you from having a slice.(I don’t know if at night if they are simply warming up left overs or they have a pizzaiolo)

Eh. Been here a few times, it’s hit or miss. Employees can be awfully rude! Pizza slices aren’t expensive and are actually very large! Conveniently located near the train station with good hours for a night out. The décor inside was pretty cool.

Good tasting pizza and sauce! Really close to the path and train station, so it’s great for a pitstop before a night out, or a late bite before you head home. Like others have said before, the inside is decorated awesomely and full with pictures of music legends.

Great Pizza!!! I love the sauce! Décor Rocks! Best Pizza in Town hands down. They won’t post this because it’s too short so I can ramble on and on about the how I didn’t like the way the guy in the corner was looking at me in a weird way or that the weather outside was windy and I heard it was suppose to rain all day tomorrow and I could take out me frustrations on this review but the simple fact remains. The pizza here is dope?!

Every single eatery needs to serve coffee! Place is cute and small. Nice girl serving told me where a coffee shop was, considering I was having a crappy day.3.75 a slice, and the slices are huge. Have one and you’re good to go with a can of coke

Came in because I wanted something different than the Manchu Wok and Sbarro food in Hoboken Terminal and had just enough time to for a bite to eat before getting the PATH train into NYC. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which was on the specials menu. I came around midday and the place was empty, completely the opposite of what it seems to have been like when reviewers were there! So, needless to say, the one young woman working there(who never once smiled and looked absolutely miserable) delivered efficient service and was at least basically polite. The food was actually pretty good. Just entirely too much, too much bread and too many cut up meatballs. I would come back and maybe try their pizza or maybe just get pasta again if they have it. The reviewers here don’t seem too thrilled with the pizza in general.

Even the worst pizza in Hoboken is still better than the best pizza in central NJ. Overall this is pretty bland, basic and boring with oily cheese and grease. The crust is thin and crisp, but if they reheat for too long it breaks and you’re left with a mess on your plate. You are supposed to be able to fold your pizza without it breaking, while the crust is still thin and light weight. This is where the pizzeria has an area of opportunity… A 2 star hoboken pizzeria. ANDSTILL, this is infinitely better than anything, I mean anything, in central New Jersey. So four stars for being you, delicious Northern New Jersey Pizza. You are passable for absorbing booze during Sunday Funday and will always be 1.5M times better than pizza in «Hillsborough, Nj». Bonus star for being close to path and having a bathroom!!!

The pizza is really good in my opinion. Lots of tasty cheese, good sauce and enough of it which seems to be a rarity these days, and tasty crust. The crust could be a tad more well done in my opinion. The. Service is just ok and not very fast but it is Hoboken. If you have a buzz on and want some slices I highly recommend it.

WARNING! make sure to ask for a receipt if you are ordering a bunch of food. I stopped in with my family after getting back from NYC. After receiving horrible service, the counter girl rang me up and added an extra $ 3 to the bill(paid cash). I only knew this because I asked for a copy of the receipt after I paid. When I saw it, she asked me «Oh did I charge you $ 36, I meant to say $ 33». Yeah right. Also — I specifically asked for salad dressing on the side. The counter girl brought out the salad for my wife with the salad dressing on the salad. I told her that was wrong and she told me that is the way I asked for it. She walked away and ignored us. I usually don’t complain, but she just ticked me off. So I approached the pizza making guy who I thought was the owner and told him to make us a new salad. He pretty much refused so I kept harassing him. He finally yelled back at me, picked up the salad, and when he got to the back kitchen I heard him throw the bowl(heard breaking glass). Never going back there again. This place is nuts.

Ugh. Just… Ugh. Stopped in here for a late night bite. That was my first mistake. I guess they were having a noise war with the DJ next door, because they were blasting heavy metal music so loud it was ear piercing even on the sidewalk. People inside were having to scream at each other, though I doubt they noticed, as it seems the majority of the clientele are completely alcohol-lobotomised kids just killing time before their trains back to where ever. It’s like Jersey Shore meets Trainspotting. The staff was appropriate to the drunken throngs at the counter and the blaring metal bands… gruff, loud and exhibiting a mild disdain for actually having to do something. I got a couple slices and hot footed it out. The pizza was serviceable, nothing special. This place might be more desirable in the pre-club hours, though I can’t say I’ll be back to find out… at least not until my ears stop bleeding from the noise.

Like most reviews state, the food is decent. It’s not mind blowing but it’s not bad either. I ordered a burger I don’t remember the name but it was stuffed with cheese and BACON. When my burger arrived it looked amazing, I couldn’t wait to give it a bite. After my blessings(of course) I took a huge bite and felt a little disappointed. Here I have this amazing picturesque dish in front of me and all I could say about the taste was EH. I ordered a medium well burger that was well done, I asked for jalepenos and I wasn’t given those(found out later they were out. No one bothered to tell me). My PIC asked for two different things that were shown on the menu neither of which were offered anymore. I guess they haven’t gotten around to updating the menu. The pasta that my pic ordered was decent as well he said it was nothing to write home about(or Unilocal about). The restaurant was clean and the staff(we only seen one guy) was friendly. I suggest if ur on a time limit just stick with the pizza, it took us over 30 mins to get our food. Next time I’ll review the pizza if we do make it back over there!

There are many Hoboken pizza places open late weekend nights to handle the Jersey Boys and Girls prowling the downtown bars. Points for Rome Pizzeria include it’s proximity to the PATH and the taxi line. Directly across the street! Grab a slice and run back to the line, and you’ll probably finish it before a taxi arrives. My friend Nathan and I came in from the cold late last weekend about 1AM. The place was warm and brightly lit, with a full house of customers, but there was not much sense of order. There was no «line» or numbering system so people just crowded the length of the counter hoping to catch the attention of a worker behind the counter. One pizza guy was making pies, but he was not fast enough for the crowd. Consequently there were few choices, and if you come around that time you probably won’t get your first selection since someone else will have grabbed the last slice before you have a chance to order. The pizzas were ok with a medium crust. Obviously the mushroom pizza used canned mushrooms. Disappointing for $ 4.50 a slice! Also, they hide the condiments and you have to ask for the specific shaker at the counter. There are so many other pizza places within a few blocks with a much greater variety. Next time I’ll probably go to those… unless I need to use the rest room since Rome has the closest one to the PATH! Then Rome is my No. 1 choice! LOL.

3.5 I’d say, but I’ll round up to 4. Good pizza within a walk you can make there and back from the PATH&NJT trains in a couple minutes. I got a chicken & broccoli slice for $ 2.75, it was larger than your average slice, crispy and tasty. Not world changing, but good pizza. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning bad service or bad management? It’s a pizza joint, grab a slice and go. Hell, I even though the cashier was too helpful and not surly enough to be working at a «real» NJ pizza joint, and I KNOW his shirt guinea-tee didn’t have enough grease stains on it to be legit.

Update is… solid 4 stars, still the best NYC style pizza I have had in the NJ. Much less inebriated this visit, and the pizza definitely holds up. Décor and vibe are not that great, but service was again very friendly. More importantly, the pizza was spot on. NY style pizza has a medium to thin style crust that is crisp on the bottom, and never soggy. This style of pizza is not my favorite, or the most flavorful, but I know a NY style slice of pizza when I eat one, and Rome Pizza is it. Get mushrooms on your slice(yes, they are the canned variety here).

Not bad pizza, not great pizza. I’ve been here a few times just because it was convenient to the path and I was hungry. It’s a decent slice, nothing special or spectacular. It’s a decent size place with indoor and outdoor seating. For whatever reason they have rock memorabilia and«flair» on the walls. ok, sure I love classic rock, don’t quite know how Jimi Hendrix ties into Rome and Pizza, but what the heck, why not? The reason it goes to 2 stars is for jacking up prices at night. Now this past weekend we went in for the first time after 2am and the slices were definitely more costly than they are during say lunch time. I can’t say I blame them, they have Teak next door so every fist pumper from Bayonne with Daddy’s credit card will pay whatever for a slice so, business wise it makes sense. For me, it will prevent me from going back, ever again. Consistency makes restaurants successful.
