Good place. Usually has open beds and pretty clean. The only thing lacking is customer service but what do you expect at a tanning salon. Overall a nice spot and convenient to Hoboken.

Agree with another reviewer about why you should never give them your credit card information. They incorrectly charged my credit card around $ 350 and are dragging their feet on refunding me the false charges to my card when they’ve admitted they’re in the wrong; they’re just poorly organized and badly managed. Already had to report them to the BBB in NJ.
Never go here they steal your credit card information and leave you with a headache not worth the convenience of the location.

I’ve been going for level 1 tanning here for a few months & it’s great if that’s all you’re looking for. I bought a 3 month package and the price was very reasonable. I also bought a lotion that was on a half price special. There are coupons on their website so be sure to print those out.

This place is right down the street from NYSC, which is convenient for those that engage in a workout/​tan or tan/​workout routine. The rooms are standard. There’s always a fresh towel left for use, which is nice. They don’t have any hooks for you to hang your clothes (at least in the rooms I’ve occupied). The other Planet Sun on Washington St. in Hoboken has hooks to hang your belongings.
The beds seems to newer and the bulbs appear to be pretty strong for the most part. I think they beds are usually clean but I do find some stray hairs left behind on occasion and that’s GROSS. More than anything, the beds being 100% clean at all times should be the priority. I see the girls go in and clean sometimes, they maybe spend all of 10 seconds in there. That’s not acceptable… beds should be thoroughly sprayed and wiped down.

I go to the 14^th street location usually, but have also been to the Washington & 4^th street location, too. This review is for both
14^th street is fairly small, but clean and there’s hardly ever a wait. I like that it’s only $ 19.99/mo for a level 1 membership. Also, just found out that Sundays are half price so I got an upgrade to a level 2 bed for $ 1.76!
The 4^th street location is very large and they have a lot of options so if you are looking for one of their unique beds, I’d go there.
The girls working are always friendly and have no problem recommending lotions. I told them I wasn’t interested in an expensive lotion and they helped me find one that’s fairly cheap (for indoor tanning lotion) and didn’t make me feel guilty about not considering a pricier option.

Dirty and UNTRUTHFUL!!!
Do not sign up for a package… They will sneak and charge you an extra month.
The place is dirty. They are all smiles until they take your credit card. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. RUN to any of the other tanning salons.

I hadn’t gone to planet sun in years but now that the new location is a couple of blocks away from my job I decided to stop in and check it out. Whoever the blonde girl with the glasses is she’s AWWSOME! She made sure I was well informed about EVERYTHING, prices, lotions, beds, etc. and really went out of her way to make sure I was a happy client. I took the recommendations she made and was very pleased with my experience. Being a seasoned tanner, I do look for certain things when I go tanning and planet sun definitely has maintained a great reputation in hoboken. I will forewarn, since it’s a new location all of the equipment is new therefore the bulbs are brand new and very strong so make sure you ask for just a few minutes to start off or you might burn while you’re trying to build up your tan. Also, join their crazy sun club, $ 50/​month for unlimited tanning on all levels and 50% discount on products, it’s THEE best deal I’ve ever found at a tanning salon!

I hate to admit that I still fake and bake but. I do. I like to keep a nice glow going all year long.
I used to go to the Planet Sun in Rutherford when I lived back home, but now that I am a JC resident — the not one but TWO locations in hoboken are really convenient. The 14^th St. location is by far the best of the two and has lots of beds, friendly staff, and is clean clean clean which is vital when dealing with plastic beds everyone puts their bare sweaty behind on.
They offered me a deal of unlimited monthly tanning for $ 20 (22.09 with tax) which is equivalent to two tans but I can go all day errrr day if I wanted to LOL obviously would not but if I at least go 2x a month, I get my money’s worth.

Spoke to the owner and he corrected the problem and needless to say he was not happy that his customer was treated that way. That’s the way to treat customers correct the issue and work with your customers!

Nice place and very fair deals on membership! The staff has not impressed me as they always seem to be chatting with each other or just dont pay attention to what I say (sometimes I upgrade to a different type of tanning bed and 3 times out of 5 they dont listen but automatically put me to my regular)
But you know, it’s all good. The place is still always clean, prices are cheap and there is no wait time on the beds (mostly).
