It’s Friday and the Cadillac Cantina is banging old school party starters. The menu is filled with favorites and a few surprises. If you are exiting the train,. #chilltowncoterie #cadillaccantina

Worst food and lousy service. Came here on MMD in the afternoon, seemed to only have 1 waitress working the tables. Chips came out stale, had to order new ones. They advertised drink specials that apparently didn’t start until 4. When we complained the waitress said she can have the manager adjust our bill but at that point we just wanted to get out of there. Safe to say we won’t be coming back.

The three of us visited Friday afternoon around 2:30. It’s a holiday weekend, so no surprise that it was pretty empty. Our waitress took FOREVER to simply bring water, let alone the actual drinks we ordered. There were less than a handful of other tables, so why did an order of guacamole and chili wings take almost a half hour? Appetizers should take less than 20 minutes. We asked our waitress Jenna for share plates TWICE, to no avail. We ordered another set of wings, along with a chicken burger, empanadas, and a short rib burrito. We also asked for another round of drinks. My friend with the chicken sandwich asked for bacon and onions to be added to it. Why wasn’t it on there? Why did we still have a stack of menus on our table? Why were our glasses empty? WHERE is Jenna??? We saw her whizzing by a few times, so we knew she was around somewhere. Often times we sought assistance from the other staffers who were present, except for a hostess who ignored our calls for assistance. I’m sure she heard us, as we were the only table inside. Aside from her, the young lady with blond hair, and the food runner and busser were pleasant to interact with. At one point we asked Jenna if she were a new employee, actually offering her a sympathy card. She didn’t take it, saying she’d been with the venue for a year. I couldn’t tell she had much experience, given the disappearing acts, lack of attention, and missing items. On average, she checked on us every 35 minutes. That is unacceptable. By the time the bacon and onions came for my friend’s sandwich, the chicken was cold and needed to be reheated. I was ready to wrap up my leftovers and my other friend was nursing yet another empty glass. A manager was requested and upon being informed of the poor service we received, he reluctantly, almost unapologetically, offered a round of drinks on the house. Jenna pointed out that she was nearing the end of her shift. We closed out and in spite of it all, she was still given a tip of about 20% unreservedly so. Initially, we tried to be pleasant and joke with her, but were soon turned off by her flat responses and depressed, snail-like movement. Lunch for 3 people should not have been a 3 hour ordeal. We were not one of those annoying tables that hadn’t a clue what to order. Plus we came in with great attitudes and unfortunately were not met with the same, until the vibrant, attentive Stephanie replaced Jenna. This place would be much better with staff that cared about the quality of service. The one star was for my chicken empanadas and burrito, which I enjoyed. The chili wings were a bit on the dry side. I will not be dining here again.

They really need to get rid of the bum they hire that manages the bathroom lines. He tries to pick a fight with everyone. Now I remember why I stopped coming here.

Nice place, good service, but the restaurant may have slight identity crisis. Is it a Mexican Restaurant, Sports Bar or Night Club. All in all its a little pricey for what it is. I’d rather go to West New York and get the real deal.

Would do 0 stars if I could. Rude and forceful bouncers. Physically pushing people any time they want… Would never go back to this place.

Came here today with a couple of friends for a bite and a margarita. Hostess/waitress was nice and attentive. Margaritas were on point. The guac was good, someone had fun really smooshing is but still good. We all ordered tacos as entrees, I mean why wouldn’t you? The corn tortillas were fantastic and the steak was perfect but the pickled onions they put on their tacos KILLED it for me. No, just no. That pickled red onion concoction needs to go. Maybe it tastes better after you’ve had a few drinks. If you want a good pickled onion recipe, here it is: sliced Red onions, sliced jalapenos, let it sit in REAL lime juice from real limes. It is delicious and would be a better fit for all your tacos. Service and margaritas were the reason for the 3 star rating. Maybe next time, Cadillac Cantina.

Great Hoboken spot for the summer and happy hours!!! Right near the PATH/train station makes it easy access for alll sorts of friends. In the summer they open the roof and give you a real feeling of Mexico! They have good happy hot deals of margaritas and guac!

Came in for lunch today for Restaurant Week — i’ve been here before for drinks, but never for the food. The place was packed and they had 1 waitress for the entire restaurant. During restaurant week! Are you kidding? We waited about 15 minutes before I finally asked the bartender if he could take our order(which he did, which was nice of him). The drinks came out quickly after that, but the food took forever. We expected it because of the number of tables that were dining with(again) 1SERVER putting in all the orders, but it was still annoying. The food was pretty good, which is the only reason why I am giving this review 2 stars. I can’t even judge the service, because we literally had none other than the bartender taking our order. No one came to clean our plates, no one came and checked on if our order was right, no one asked how we were doing, or refilled our drinks. I finally had the waitress run our cards while we waited almost 20 – 25 minutes for dessert, which was quick. Then we ran out of there! Sad lunch experience :( If it’s any token, my wings were great :)

Came last week with a friend — we were seated right away. After 8 – 10 minutes, we still had not been approached by a server to take drink orders or bring water. I would have chalked this up to the fact that it was quite busy; however, another couple arrived while we were waiting and they had no sooner taken off their jackets when a server bounced up to their table to help them. It was hard to even flag her down, as it seemed like she was avoiding eye contact. About a minute later, a different server came to help us. From that point forward, service was great and she was very friendly for the entire evening. The food was unremarkable. Fairy standard Mexican food — not bad, but nothing special. The portions were very good for the prices; however, we dined during Restaurant Week. It was a great deal — $ 25 for a sangria, small appetizer, entrée, and dessert(my churros were tasty, but not warm when they arrived). I wouldn’t pay full price for the experience I had here, but I’d come back for Restaurant Week or maybe for a drink and some nibbles during happy hour.

They bar is great when you go early and find a spot for yourself in the courtyard. That being said it can get rowdy and the bouncers like the idea of making people wait in line even when the bar is empty. I would recommend someone to go here on a nice summer day and hang out at the courtyard. By any means do not go there during Santa con or St. Patrick’s day. Drinks are Hoboken priced and the bartenders are usually nice. Not the greatest bar but a visit won’t harm you.

I came here to spend my 21st birthday, got ELBOWED by this worker into a wall. Ran into the men’s bathroom to tell my boyfriend I was afraid because this man just assaulted me and I was literally just standing outside the bathroom waiting for my boyfriend to come out. He called the bouncer and got me and my boyfriend dragged out. If I could give it zero stars I would. I even tried to tell the bouncer and he just laughed at me. Not to mention the cracked out bar tenders… Horrible.

Stopped in to meet friends for some margaritas and appetizers, really loved this place! Cadillac Cantina is a really fun, bright, vibrant space with great music. We came for a few hours in the evening, but seems like it’s a great place to also hang out late or come watch a sports game. I loved the Mexican skulls all over the bar, added to the ambiance. The menu and drink menu had a lot to offer, so many different drinks. I decided to stick with just a regular margarita which was fine, it tasted a little watered down but wasn’t bad. We had dinner reservations somewhere else, so we just ordered the black bean and sausage dip. My bestie didn’t like it, but I loved it. A very heart and filling, cheesy dip. If you love black beans you will enjoy this dish. Not an overwhelming amount of sausage. Had lots of fun hanging out here, bartender was sweet. Would love to come here again!

Came during restaurant week with a large party(of 14) which was clearly a recipe for disaster. It took 30 minutes just to get our sangrias(a sign of things to come). Food came out randomly. Some people were just getting their appetizers when other people were getting entrees. Overall the wait time(for basic items off of the restaurant week menu) was INSANE. Despite the fact that the waitress«wrote everyrthing in her notepad» she messed up multiple orders. I ordered pollo asado which is «half a chicken» with sides… When my entrée did arrive it was ONE chicken breast split in half. When I attempted to address this with the waitress she told me that WAS in fact half a chicken(the manager later agreed). Hunh? Where was the leg/thigh? Where was the wing? Whatever. Overall the atmosphere and music was good(hence 2 stars instead of 1). The wait staff sucked and the food was mediocre at best. Definitely won’t come back here. Our entire party agrees.

Good spot for Happy Hour on a Friday after work… lively crowd, attentive bartenders and wait staff! Close to the PATH train and less crowded than Texas/Arizona next door. DJ just needs to add a better selection, more modern top 40 House, Hip Hop and R&B, less pop songs from the 70’s &80’s!

While I generally avoid the bar scene near the PATH, I really like Cadillac Cantina! First of all, they do a great job of managing the crowd; I never been in here when it is overly packed. Now once you get inside what do you do? Margaritas of course! If you likely spicy, go for a jalapeño margarita, so good! They will also have deals on fireball and other shots, even on weekends. Pricing is fair too; I have paid $ 60 for 7 or 8 drinks after tip. Beer selection has the usual suspects plus some common crafts. The music selection is fantastic. They have dancing in the courtyard area, which now features a roof. I wish they left it open! Back before it was installed we had an incredible night dancing in the rain. Me of all people, dancing! Its rare for me to find a place where I can enjoy doing that. I know I will be back.

The service and food is really hit or miss. Best for the bar/night life and go with groups as the crowd gets very cliquey. I’ve been multiple times, once with my boyfriend for dinner which was a complete waste of money. The sangria was so weak — we ordered a pitcher and after the whole thing just had a sugar rush. I went again separately with my girlfriend and ordered the quesadillas, tacos and quacamole and everything was amazing. I wouldn’t bank on it always being great.

Damn it Cadallac Cantina … I keep ending up here. Mostly after 10 pm and for some of your drinks. Depends who the bartender is because a few of my drinks were a hit/others a miss. It’s pretty spacious and they have about 3 bar areas but the one in the back tends to fill up the most. The place itself gets pretty crowded considering how close it is to the path. The music is pretty good and I like how you can show up with jeans and a hat here and not get yelled at by the bouncers. Overall a decent place to grab a couple of drinks with your group and listen to some good tunes while laughing at a few idiots. Omg… I’m starting to sound old! I still have to show HOB some lovin’ butttt lets be honest this isn’t for someone who wants a laid back night! And we ain’t fooling anyone with the fake Mexican food.

Just had to explain my experience. Today while at CC — I ordered nachos, and garlic wings for Appetizers. That was all good. When entrée came out —(shrimp fajitas) I noticed green mold on top of the shrimp. ! No one at my table could finish their food. Really gross ! Do better CC !
