Very good burger, juicy and with a creamy special sauce, and best fries in town. My friend and I shared a medium fries, and they split them very nicely and generously between our burger baskets. Delicious!

The gravy fries were pretty good, huge portion. The milkshake was horrible though. It was super watery and had no flavor. Would go back and try other fries, definitely staying away from their milkshakes.

In my humble opinion, nothing to rave home about. 90% of the time, they get my order wrong — they forget the cheese on my fries, they’re out of veggie burgers so they substitute without asking me first, they take my order, but don’t have the same menu as in-store, etc. Overall, I almost always leave this place PO and say I will never come back again. However, my boyfriend loves their burgers so he somehow convinces me to come back time after time — so there’s the 3 stars for you. Tasty burgers, but terrible service. Dear Owner, please revisit your menus and be sure that they’re consistent.

Maybe i am missing something but i had a great experience here. Ordered the classic burger with fries and it was awesome. I loved the soft bun and bc i ordered the double it was a little sloppy but delicious. Fries were above average and thats hard to find these days. Not sure if this was a one off but i will definitely be back. I rate this place higher than bareburger.

I keep wanting to like boardwalk. It’s cheap and easy, and sometimes you just crave this kind of food. I wouldn’t even stay my standards are high for this kind of food. But every time I order something, the meat is sketchy as heck. Full of grizzle, unevenly cooked. Just overall bad quality ingredients that make you feel sick after eating.

Food is very average. Nothing special at all. Had a bad experience with delivery a while back. The bill the delivery guy handed me was a couple bucks more than the total. I thought this was a bit shady, so I never ordered from there again. Was walking by tonight and hungry, so I figured I’d give them another try. Sign on door said cash only(shady). Place looked filthy inside. Girl at counter was rude and yelling back and forth with guy in back. Food wasn’t bad but there was nothing special about it either. Don’t think this place will be around much longer.

If i could leave 0 stars I would I was really pumped to order from here after walking past it one day. Today I learned that not only was this the worst bacon cheddar cheeseburger I ever had, I also learned that the employees of this establishment can’t follow simple directions/read. Even though the order was CLEARLY printed on my recipe, I did not receive what I ordered. I payed extra for an assortment of sauces which I never received, but I would say a bag of wet soggy fries topped off my night in addition to the delivery taking an hour and fifteen minutes

Man, I wish I could say I enjoyed this place. With 5 Guys in Hoboken closing, this town is in need of a good quick burger shop. Unfortunately, this place will not be filling the void in my belly. We ate-in this place and while I don’t expect much from burger joints, this place was a bit dirty and wasn’t really welcoming, especially for a joint in its first week of operation. I’ll get to the point. We got their flagship burger(with cheese, onions, and their special sauce), a chili-cheese dog, and chili-cheese fries. I didn’t really enjoy any of it. None of it was bad, but it was all pretty lacking. The burger was dry, and the large roll caused for a really high bread: burger ratio. I also couldnt taste the special sauce(and i double checked to make sure it was there). Same problem with the chili-cheese dog — they put the thing on what seemed like a hoagie roll. And to top it off, everything came out lukewarm. The only reason this place get’s 2 stars is because the chili-cheese fries were tasty and its BYOB. Maybe this place is going through some growing pains, but that being said, they really need to step their game up if they’re gonna try to stick it out in this town.

Dear Boardwalk Fries in Hoboken, Normally I would keep my negative experience to myself and just never patronize this restaurant again. This is my first negative Unilocal review because I know how damaging it can be to a business. I still won’t ever be back, but your employees’ attitude and work ethic was so poor I can’t keep quiet. This was my first(and last) time at Boardwalk Fries in Hoboken. When I arrived there was a table of three and another man seated by himself, but no employees in sight. I glanced into the kitchen and saw a guy sitting on a box wearing a hoody and using his cell phone. I said hello and he took off his sweatshirt to come take my order. I ordered a classic burger, disco fries and a drink. I paid and stood there waiting for my cup. The cashier reminded me I didn’t need to sign my credit card receipt. I reminded him I did need my cup. Then I went to choose a table. Every single table in the restaurant was dirty. As I sat there waiting for my food I thought to myself how loud and irritating the music in this place was. When the food came out the fries were bare. I reminded the cashier, who also cooked the food, that I had ordered disco fries. He looked at me blankly for a minute before saying, «oh well I meant to ask you if you wanted that on the fries. Some people like it on the side.» Never in my life have I heard of disco fries coming plain with cheese and gravy on the side. Even if that were the case(which makes no sense) why wasn’t it served that way? I’ll tell you why… because he clearly just forgot and made up some lame excuse. I can look past the dirty tables and loud music, but I HATE a liar, which is why I’m writing. It’s a fast food restaurant, just say, «oh my bad» and put the cheese and gravy on top. Why was it necessary to make up excuses? But wait there’s more. About halfway through my meal someone turned up the music so loud it was uncomfortable to sit there. I decided to leave. After I bussed my table and as I’m walking towards the door I make eye contact with a man who I assume is the owner. I can only make this assumption as the gentleman(who is dressed in sweats) had been talking on a cordless phone about how hard it is to be a business owner. He doesn’t say anything to me. He just goes over to the table where I was sitting, brushes the crumbs onto the floor with the back of his hand and takes a seat. If you were the owner you should stop complaining and get your s**t together. Otherwise you might end up without a business to complain about in the first place.

I’m from the Jersey Shore area so I’ve had my fair share of great boardwalk food and this spot right here is no exception. The owner and chef were extremely friendly and gave me awesome recommendations. I got the Hoboken Heated Chicken Cheesesteak and in my opinion was better than some cheesesteaks I had in Philly(if you want it extra hot, make sure to let em’ know). My boy got the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and he said it was bomb. Overall awesome experience and will definitely be coming back again.

Ordered a big catering order here twice back in the summer of 2015 for my office. Manager was extremely friendly and worked with our budget and gave us some extras :) Food was delivered on time and was pretty good! Especially for sitting out and not being served the minute it came off the grill. Looking forward to ordering again soon!

The place is clean, the burgers looked great, but the milkshake was a HIT. We got the Oreo cookie milkshake(4.19) and that was delicious. They now what they are doing. If your in the neighborhood check them out. They just started using for delivering. Woahhh ;)

Heads up: PEANUTOIL, RARELYIFNEVERACCEPTSCARDBUTTHEYHAVEANATM, ALSOFORSTEVENSSTUDENTS: yeah, they take duckbills. I come here whenever I’m desperate for pretty good, sit-down-but-still-fast food burgers in Hoboken without getting blocked arteries at Five Guys or succumbing to Johnny Rockets or McDonald’s. If I wanted a GOOD, REAL burger I’d probably hit up O’Niels on 4th or Schackenburg’s or something. But I digress. The burgers are tasty and pretty wholesome for the most part. Fries? Meh. Midtown’s are better, but they give a HUGE serving of them here, which is great. I usually ask for mine extra crispy, because I’m picky and unhealthy like that. If I forget, they’re really disappointing. They have a «best burger» or «best fries» title and TRUSTME, it’s HIGHLY debatable. Milkshakes are fine, in a generic way. Sometimes they like to mix it up with fun flavors, like Fruity Pebbles, because their staff is eccentric. Yes, eccentric. Eccentric in the way that sometimes GREAT people are serving you! Friendly teens, professional adults who know customer service to the tee, funny cooks who come to the front– and then, when you least expect it, you get lazy-eyed, lazy, monotone cashiers. Ah well. At least it’s clean inside. Yep! Nice bathrooms and seating. Overall, a DECENT place to eat.

Being a huge fan of french fries — and especially«Atlantic City-style Boardwalk Fries,» I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now as it’s a fairly new edition to the dozens of eateries along Washington St. All I can say is, what a disappointment. Walked in today and — before placing my order — confirmed with the guy behind the counter they had malt vinegar. Anyone who knows anything about anything knows you can’t eat boardwalk fries w/out malt vinegar. He said they did. Great. I placed my order to go and when the fries came out, I asked the girl behind the counter for a little container of malt vinegar to go. She responded, «We’re out of malt vinegar.» Out of malt vinegar at a fries place??? That’s like being out of ketchup at McDonald’s. I asked her to double check, as the guy assured me just 2 min. before they had it. Turns out, the guy was wrong. They were out. I was this close to asking for my money back, as had the guy told me the correct answer when I asked, I would’ve come back another day. Instead, here’s a guy with 2 responsibilities — making burgers and fries — and he can’t keep track of the condiments? Not to mention, at what point does the manager re-order the vinegar for a place that serves fries as a main dish? Does he/she wait til they’re completely out? Who’s runnin’ this joint? Oh, and if you’re wondering how the actual fries are, they’re «okay.» Nowhere near as big and awesome as the thick cut potatoes you get down the shore, but better than diner fries. Overall, just a poorly run place. Sad, too, as it could be cool.

The burgers were okay; there wasn’t really anything special about them. The interior of the place was nice and clean. The front-of-house staff were loud in their conversation perhaps because there weren’t other guests at the time(It didn’t bother me at all; it was just a slight observation). Also, they don’t accept cards for some reason, though they had logos on their register of various companies like Visa and MasterCard, etc). The back-of-house cook(maybe owner too?) gave us our food and was nice. All in all, it’s a decent lil burger shop. But there wasn’t any oomph that would make me go out of my way to come back anytime soon.

Going up to four stars as the burger, fries, soda for $ 10 was spot on today, the place itself is kept very clean and the staff is super friendly. Some outdoor seating available. Great place to watch a little Sunday football(one tv) if you’re not into the bar crowd. There have been some menu updates. Owner sociable and gladly listening to opinions and thoughts. The burger competition these days is fierce and this spot is doing the right things to encourage repeat business.

I would say this it is 3.5 stars. It is a fairly average quick burger spot. It is definitely above the cut of any fast food burger and fries. I would put it on par with Five Guys but a lot less greasy which is good. It is pretty cost effective and the fries are delicious. I love how they put old bay out. The place is clean, quick and the service is friendly. They have a punch card if you buy 10 burgers you get one free. I usually prefer to create my own burger with an array of topping instead of one of their creations. If you’re really hungry get the double, if not get the single. The chicken fingers are run of the mill sysco food type, nothing to write home about. But, this place is quick, easy and pretty decent. I’d much rather go here than a Five Guys or a McDonalds when I want a quick and easy burger.

If you know anything about the city of Hoboken its that parking is horrendous. Whenever you find a spot walk on into this hamburger joint. The dining area is clean, the back of the house from what I could see was clean, and the bathrooms smelled so fresh and so clean. I ordered the avocado bacon burger. The burger along with the condiments were fresh. The burger was also juicy. But to me, the burger lacked salt. If they would’ve sprinkled some salt on there, this review would’ve garnered 5 stars. Oh, my cashier Madelin was excellent. She was attentive, professional, and did what most burger joints don’t do enough of these days, smiled. This was my first time here and if I’m ever in the neighborhood again, I wouldn’t hesitate to visit this place again. I just ask to please add some salt to the burger and if you already do, then add some more.

Def one of the best burger places I have been. You have the options to make your own burger or buy one of the preselected ones made by the burger place. The service are great. Their shakes are amazing and so is the burger. I can definitely recommend this place. Build your own burger and get a strawberry shake and ur good to go!
