A perfect piece of beef. The steak is awesome and so is the price. It is very VERY casual, but you will find an amazing piece of beef(two very good sides… except for the onion rings, they are home made, but that is the only thing that doesn’t do it for me on the menu)… a nice glass of vino; all at an attractive price. So if you are looking for a good steak, this is the place… if your looking for ambience and a over-priced moment on the town… then stick with the Capital grill. PS– All steak cuts come in two sizes… the large is HUGE!

Prime rib, cooked to perfection. Buttery, rich mashed potatoes, sautéed button mushrooms with garlic and butter, and spinach with cheese which was divine and I hate spinach Chef Jack knows how to cook, and his staff definitely knows their job

Reasonable price, good selection of steak, my steak cooked perfect and served hot. Vey busy dueling season, and they don’t take reservation. Almost non appetizer only salad and one kind of soup. Good desert. Been here many times, so far the small town favorite place to eat for me. Strongly recommend

I was surprised at how good this place was! Great food, the service was pretty good, and the prices were decent. Don’t be a wine snob here, and I think they must have gotten their chairs from a burned out Denny’s up in Stuart… the chairs a cheap and they suck to sit in for any length of time.

My husband and I visited Kodi’s Steakhouse for the first time today. We arrived 15 minutes before it opened. There is a pleasant seating area outside with several padded benches; a TV plays. A middle-aged woman waiting with her family told us Kodi’s has the best steak she’s ever had and we would love it. If only. When the front door was unlocked, names were taken and we were seated at a small table for two in a corner after larger parties that arrived after us were seated first. The dining room is small, with loud conversations around the room easily heard.(The older fellow next to us(table of 6) chatted loudly about dismembering pigs or something while I tried to eat my food.) And then you had to hear the waitress describe in detail(same verbiage) the night’s specials — annoyingly robotic. The décor was surprisingly dismal and nondescript. We were given two dinner rolls with butter. They were okay — nothing I’d go out of my way for; not very tasteful. Salad or soup is not included with the entrée. I ordered the wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon bits($ 1 extra). The lettuce was presented plain with three small slices of tomatoes and cucumbers. It seemed dry but it was okay once mixed together. That was $ 8 with the bacon bits. Our entrees were okay as well. I ordered Surf & Turf — the special. The lobster was a bit tough and rubbery(although we were told it was from Maine & was sweet). The little four ounces of filet mignon meat was prepared perfectly medium and was tasty AFTER I added salt(which I rarely do). The scalloped potatoes were dry and were not that tasty until the end when I found more sauce. The potatoes were presented in an oblong shape. The other side I ordered was the garlic spinach which was overpowered with way too much garlic and it was too oily. My husband ordered the Prime Rib of Beef. The waitress informed us it was freshly prepared and looked good. It was a generous portion served with a dipping sauce I felt was heavy and thick; not the au jus sauce I was expecting. We both agreed we had better. His sides were the sweet potato(and the cinnamon butter does makes it good!) and the mac and cheese — which was some sort of curly noodle with disappointingly bland sauce. Since it was a rare ‘date’ night for us and the month of our anniversary, we splurged and tried the apple crisp(gasp — not crispy or cinnamony) and coffee. $ 86 poorer — he spoke what I was thinking as we walked out the front door. «I won’t be back.»

Oh Kodi’s how I wanted to love you!!! I arrived on a Saturday night with a party of four. We had to wait a little over an hour. No problem. We sat outside and ordered wine and beer. Very relaxing. If we had wanted to sit at the bar, we would have been seated in less than 30 mins. Everyone in my party ordered the 8oz filet mignon. The two sides I chose were scalloped potatoes and creamed spinach. My filet was grilled to my liking which is medium. Don’t shoot the messenger but it was… very tough. So many people swear by this place but I was so disappointed. All the filets at my table were rough to cut. The scalloped potatoes were awesome!!! The creamed spinach was not good. It tasted funny. Staff was awesome and attentive. I’m going to give them another try because the service was great. I hope my filet is not tough the next time. :-(

Kodi’s is a very small place on US1 in Hobe Sound. Since we pass it every day and it’s always packed at dinner time we felt like we had to try it out. It was very busy at 7pm on a Wednesday but we were lucky to get two seats at the bar with no wait. Because of the size of the place and how busy it was, it was very loud, so it wouldn’t be high on my list for an intimate or romantic dinner — too chatty. Complimentary rolls were served after we ordered our drinks: a Pinot noir off of a short but reasonable and respectable wine list for a place this size. The rolls were tasty, warm and crusty and topped with herbs. The salads were generous, although my Caesar salad was a little drenched with dressing. Our steaks(a 12−14oz prime rib for me and 12oz strip steak for my wife) were perfectly cooked. The au jus with the prime rib was thick and rich, almost like a steak sauce, not the watery stuff you get at chain restaurants. For sides, the mac and cheese was hearty and served in a heaping portion; the baked potato was a little plain, served with butter and sour cream on the side; and the onion rings were hand cut and battered but just a little on the oily side. The cinnamon butter accompanying the sweet potato was heavenly, according to my wife. Over all, dinner and drinks for two rang up to $ 80, plus tip, which makes Kodi’s on the high side of affordable, but the quality of the food definitely makes it worth the trip.

OK. My final update. We’re tired of going there(two of us) and being treated like we are not as important as groups of four or more. If there is two or three in your party, you wait. You don’t get a table that seats four, even if there is one available. They want to give you a small high-top in the bar area where, when you finally do get seated, you have all the other people that are waiting for a table hanging around your table. Well, these steaks are not worth waiting an hour or more for. Oh, and they are too special to take reservations. There are many other choices to eat in this area. We’ll go somewhere that appreciates our business a bit more.

First time at this restaurant, and I was really impressed. Both my friend and I had steak – ribeye and prime rib – and both were excellent, cooked just as ordered. The prime rib came with au jus that was perfect. We also ordered the port sauce with mushrooms, which was also very good. They were out of Bearnaise, and there was also a choice of blackened with bleu cheese or garlic and oil. Sides were just as good if not better. The scalloped potatoes in particular were the best I had had out in years. Broccoli was also perfectly done, not too hard, not too mushy. I actually started the meal with the spinach salad with bacon dressing and again it was the best I’ve had out in years. Wine list is a bit limited, but they had a pinot noir I recognized, so we had that. Service was exceptional. The place is small and quiet – an excellent choice for a good dinner conversation. It’s done up very simply and has a pleasant, cozy feel to it. For the quality of the food, the prices are very low, and the wine is also reasonably priced. This one is definitely a winner.

Great steaks, great sides, good wines and beers, friendly service and the best value in southeast Florida. 16 oz. sirloin strip with 2 sides for $ 21 is about the most expensive dinner. The actual facility is small and the quality is outstanding. The owner Jack has a very impressive history in the restaurant business and it shows in the food. TREATYOURSELF!
