I love this store! My fiancé and I shop here regularly and I love this store. The staff is absolutely amazing! It’s small enough to feel like a small town grocery store but part of a big enough chain to have everything we need. The dames and great and the produce is ALWAYS fresh. LOVEIT!

Thursday October 29th we were in buying groceries and decided to get fried chicken. We have bought their chicken many times, even for family parties. This chicken was terrible, even worse than Kentucky fried. It was dried out and greasy. I will think hard about going there again.

Closest supermarket to my house, decent prices. Self checkout, great selection of organic foods.

I want so badly to give this place a good review, simply because it’s so close to my home. Alas, that would be deceptive because simply put, this location sucks. This is like the«ugly stepchild» location of Stracks. Whether it’s poor management or just that they don’t care how awful this particular store is because of its close proximity to another stracks(which is mediocre, at best), I’m not sure why they don’t improve. Let’s start with the parking lot: there are not near enough cart corrals, so lazy people just leave their carts everywhere. It’s like trying to dodge a landmine on a windy day out there with all the abandoned grocery carts. I usually end up parking on the side of the building, where the lazy people are too lazy to park because it’s too far away. Next, the store itself: they have a downright terrible selection of fresh produce, and what they do have is usually not very good. They also have a much smaller selection of fresh meat than other locations, and the raw chicken is almost always half-frozen, no matter what brand you’re trying to buy. This is irritating because I’m usually buy meat as I’m going to cook it, so I don’t want halfway frozen meat. So between the bad selection and the bad quality, it’s not a fun experience for someone who enjoys cooking with fresh, quality ingredients. Lastly, the checkout lanes: Just. Plain. Awful. If they have more than two cashiers, I’d be surprised. On the busiest of days, that’s all I’ve seen. They have plenty of self-checkouts, but that’s more of an inconvenience if you have more than a few items. Expect to spend a significant portion of your shopping simply waiting in line. The cashiers are nice enough; it’s not their fault they’re understaffed. I’m giving the 2nd star because it has to suck for those cashiers. This store is awful from start to finish. It seriously bothers me that I live under a mile away from a grocery store that I just can’t bring myself to shop at any longer. I’ve been going to Meijer in Portage, even though it’s significantly less convenient for me. Better selection, better prices, and better shopping experience. Get your act together, Stracks and I’ll consider shopping here again.

I miss Wiseway!!! The new management is very rude. They are over priced, and the selection of goods is terrible. As mentioned the pricing is off! I’ve been over charged more than once. One more thing is what is with all the self check out? When it was Wiseway the counters were always manned with people that had been working there for ages. Now you may have 2 teens, and 3 «managers» wandering the store. Get up front and ring people up for goodness sake! If it wasn’t for the fact that I live down the block, and walk down for odds and ends, I would never go in. I now make the drive to Portage for my major shopping.

They get a star for just for being there, I guess :) Let me jut say that the day when Wiseway conceded being Wiseway to becoming yet another mediocre Stracks, was a sad day. The selection Stracks offers would best satisfy the cravings of a 14 year old irresponsible junk food eater who’s got the munchies. There is very little for a discerning grown up shopper to pick from. Taking into account that the organics section is getting smaller as we speak, and the produce section features an array of rotten onions — at least the last time I had the misfortune of stopping in — we are left with aisles of frozen and canned foods. But the most offensive practice is this: consistent ringing up of higher price than what is marked on the shelf. This has happened every single time I’ve shopped at three different Stracks locations. Each time, a manager casually strolls over and tells them to change the price to whatever is listed on the shelf. They don’t argue, they don’t act surprised, they just promptly change the price. When this happened again last week, I inquired why these mistakes kept happening. To my inquiry I simply got a disinterested shrug and blank stare from the manager. Mistake? Time and time again? Let me just say this: if I ran a business where my POS consistently rung up the wrong price, I would fix it. I wonder how many customers paid a higher price for something listed as being on sale, without catching it. Watch what you’re being charged if you happen to shop there, and better yet, AVOID shopping there altogether and head to Meijer that just opened in Portage. Not only are their prices better, but so is their selection!
