Great place to eat reasonably priced sushi and hibachi that tastes great! Our favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. Great service!

Food is always great! But customer service is mediocre. My friend and I came in to an empty restaurant, sat & didn’t see a cook for 30 minutes. When we asked an employee about where the chef was he rudely said that you always wait this long for hibachi because the grill takes time to heat up. I have been to multiple hibachi restaurants & never waited this long for my food to start cooking. Let alone an empty one!!!

Hai-Hai has really gone down on their dining experience. I needed a restaurant that had good food, prices, & wifi, so I chose them. They have signs for wifi in their window and posted at their hostess stand. I take a seat & try to get on wifi. No go. OK, I must need their password right? Ask the server for it & he says the owner cancelled the service. Well damn. take down the signs telling customers you have it. So, no work while I eat lunch. Now my second issue. they clearly have on their menu steak lunch special $ 6.99. When my check comes it’s $ 8.49. I inform the server, and he tells me that is another lunch special. It doesn’t come with one of the sides(the salad or the soup. I forgot which one). He said I should have told him which lunch special I wanted. I told him I’m the customer and he’s the employee. I had no idea there was more than one special and it was the restaurant’s responsibility to inform the customer of differences. A $ 1.50 is not going to make or break me. It’s just the principle. Lastly, they’ve changed their ginger sauce. It tasted really watered down. Next time I want hibachi food, I’ll just go to another one of the hundreds in ATL-metro, specifically the one across the street from them!

The sushi here is not bad(not great either), and fried rice was over salted and filled with black pepper to the point I couldn’t even eat it. Anything that comes off the hibachi is so salty make sure you have lots to drink.

Really good food. Chef was amazing. Price point very good. If you thinking here or across the street I recommend here.

1. Sushi was warm, not even cold and had a funny taste. 2. I asked for Red chili sauce and the server brought me FRANKSBUFFALOSAUCE! I asked why he would bring me wing sauce in a Japanese steakhouse and he claimed that was all they had… absurd. 3. Hibachi cook had no energy, no guest interaction at all. The point of Hibachi is a show… I know its cheap but come on. 4. Our salads were swimming in dressing 5. Yum Yum sauce was warm and bland no where near what we are used too. 6. The food itself was funny tasting and flavorless. 7. The worst part of all… the server added gratuity to my check! For a party of 7 split checks that is ridiculous! I will never return again and with service and food like that… I recommend you don’t return as well.

The hibachi performance was great. Service was also very good. Those were the positives. The negatives, small hibachi setups. We had a group of 12 and three of our party members sat right in the middle of the two hibachi grill areas. Food was over cooked, my scallops were chewy. The steak was all cooked to well done. Nigiri sushi was okay. On a scale of 1 – 10, it was a 6.

Great food and price. The waiter was courteous and quick to serve our food. The chef was entertaining and kept our attention. The sushi came out quite fast. Really enjoyed the food here and would come again. On the chance you don’t want the hibachi chef, just order your food on the regular tables. Always fun to be able to interact with the sushi chef or get a good view of the tv!

Three stars feels just a bit generous. I had some sushi when I took my mom out to eat and the food was definitely not worth the price. If you want good Sushi in Hiram go to Fuji’s, next to Chicken World. I’ve had their hibachi in the past and it was also lackluster. For the price I feel every other hibachi in Kenessaw is better. I doubt I’ll be visiting there again. Perhaps if my friends drag me. I just feel like my money can go to better restaurants, you know?

Good family place for a decent price. We are accustomed to spending $ 17 per plate for a teppanyaki place so we were thrilled to find Hai Hai.($ 12 or less). The steak, chicken and/or shrimp for the teppanyaki service has always been fresh. We’ve been during the week and on the weekend. Always served by nice local wait staff. Wish they had a better wine selection but this isn’t East Cobb. I like the pepper seared ahi tuna sushi too. My kids love the YUm Yum sauce! The chefs make us laugh with their silly, whimsical fire tricks! From loyal customer since 2008.

I visited this place for the first time today during the lunch hour. I will NOT be returning! There were about 3 – 4 tables of people in the restaurant, so it wasn’t really busy. I ordered a Spider Sushi roll and a Seaweed salad. It took forever to get the order prepared. When I got the roll home, it was 6 pieces instead of 8 as advertised even though the roll was almost $ 10. For that price, it should have been a large roll. Lastly, the roll tasted horrible. The rice was thick and the shrimp that was used didn’t look very good. And even though I asked for massago on the roll, that we left off. I ended up throwing most of it away. My first and last time at this place! «Hai, Hai, BYEBYE!

I love this place and so do my kids. Their prices are good, compaired to Taki down the street. The portion sizes are good as well. It took me a while to actually go here because i heard it wasnt that good but from my experience the reviews ive heard before are wrong.

Went here after church Sunday. It wasn’t too bad. It was over priced for what you get. Our chef was good and entertaining and not pushy for table participation. I might try it at lunchtime sometime again. :)

I agree with another review, «Hai Hai bye bye». We tried this place because they were offering dinner for lunch price. We had tried to go after it first opened but thought the prices were way too high. Never again Hai Hai. Our orders were wrong and I had to request soy sauce, chopsticks and a small sauce bowl with my sushi. I had the chicken hibachi and my partner had the chicken & shrimp hibachi. The chicken was diced so small it was barely recognizable. The eel hand roll wasn’t bad, but hard to mess up something so basic.

I love this place it is usually not busy at all because I go during the week mostly around lunch time, but I love it! They have great drink specials(Mai Tai and long island) that are a great price and you get a lot of the drink in a grown up glass. The only problem I have with them is their prices for the sushi even though its alright the prices need to be a little bit cheaper… but other than that its a nice place!

Sushi in Hiram… or «bait» as my pal Jennifer of @AJCBuzz fame so cleverly noted. Whatever you want to call it, I found it here. On a Tuesday afternoon I came here and at 1:00 p.m. it wasn’t very crowded. That worked to my advantage because I was able to get control of the remote and change it from«Yo Gabba Gabba» to HLN. Not necessarily a classy thing, but appreciated all the same. I ordered lots of everything. I have no idea what the name of the sushi was. It had cream cheese, asparagus, and artificial crab. Definitely filling, but all I could taste was the cream cheese. My chicken and steak hibachi meal was actually good and I’m pretty sure they had to cook it to order since no one else was around(it could have been leftover, but I heard some pan scraping and searing as I sat). My server was nice and she had me in her corner until the very end. That’s when she took a call on her cell phone while she was getting my check. There are two other Japanese restaurants within a 5 mile radius and I think next time I’ll try another one(if I’m ever in the area again looking for bait). Hai, hai? No. Bye, bye!

Ok, i tried Hai Hai again. This time we went for my birthday dinner with the wife’s family. This place has much improved since they first opened. The sushi was fresh and served quickly and the chef that cooked our food was very fun and pretty quick. All of our food was cooked perfectly and he was very aware of the baby at the table and tried to make sure nothing scared him. He had a wonderful time by the way. who knew 10 month olds loved fire. The only problem we had this time was that our waitress was a bit slow. This was surprising as we we’re the only ones in the place on a sunday night. She seemed more interested in watching Home Alone on the several TVs scattered around the place(also very annoying, i hate TVs in non-bar resturants) than making sure our drinks were full and that we had what we needed. As far as the price goes, its a little more expensive than some other japanese steakhouses but its very good. I would definately try it again. As i said the sushi was much better this time. I think next time i’ll try just eating the sushi and see how the bar goes.
