When I’m in town and want to cook dinner for some friends, I usually visit this Stop & Shop for convenience. They have a pretty decent selection of wine and I can also pick up groceries at the same time.
I’m not sure if this is their store policy, but I’ve noticed that they do not accept out of state drivers licenses (I’m from NY) for their alcohol purchases.
Otherwise, I’ve found this store to be clean and have friendly employees.

I think this store has a long way to go w/​customer service. I need to use the handicapped mobility cart and this store only has 2 and most of the time 1 is broken down. The self check out never works properly and the store staff has to run from on cash out to the next and back again. HEADS up S& S … Shaws has you beaten by a mile

Stop & Shop is not usually my fave grocery store. But I stumbled across this one’s little secret — they sell alcohol! You’re hard pressed to find the few grocery stores in MA that have a license to do so. It’s not the end of the world to go without, but it’s certainly nice to have the option of one-​stop-​shopping when you’re planning a dinner or party.
