We spend over $ 100 a week at Panera and this is not our favorite location. Bad attitude by staff that takes orders. Ordered a hot tea to go and got a lecture for asking for a large cup. Never happens at any other Panera I visit– they just give you a large cup. Hello it’s water– it’s free. We only use 1 tea bag. They have no idea how to provide service that makes people want to return. Lots of other Paneras nearby– go there!

I think Panera is a great place to stop by for a little snack or brunch. I had the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich which was A-OK. My only complaint is that I love bacon and I was expecting to be at least three or four pieces in my sandwich, but there were only 2 small pieces. I would come back. I also saw a lot of things that kids would like on the menu. The staff acted nice and the building was clean, I think there is something for everyone there, Good job Panera. bon appétit Kidkritic

A spacious and clean Panera. The staff is pretty friendly. Today I was helped by Olivia, and she was super sweet, smiley, and helpful. She brought my bagel over to me, which was so especially helpful since I had my baby with me.

I find it difficult to return here. I probably will eventually, on my way home from work one night but it’s not going to be a happy visit and I won’t spend more than the bare minimum, no impulse cookie buys! I can only write my review based on the morning visits I’ve made here, on my way out to work. I really like their online ordering app, I could easily place my morning meeting order, pick it up and be on my way in less than 5 minutes. At least I could until I started coming here instead of my prior Panera haunts. First visit– the two people behind the counter — they seem to be there every day early morning — found it inexplicably difficult to end their personal conversation to wait on the person in front of me. While we waited for them, six people piled up behind me, at least three of who seemed to be familiar with the two counter people, if the comments that I overheard about them were any indication. That was a 15 minute trek that should have been a five minute order. Second visit– I placed the order online. When I went to pick up the order, instead of one bag with my order in it, there was a bag, a smaller bag and a small pastry box. I think seeing all that made me check the order, which I never do. The sandwich was correct, there was a chocolate chip cookie, no chocolate chip muffie, no brownie and there was one blueberry muffin instead of two. When I brought it to their unwilling attention, I got a mutual eye roll and was told, «well, there’s no brownie because we’re out of them!» Uh huh. So, the phone number in the order is meaningless? You couldn’t call me to tell me that and make a replacement? So, instead you just charged me for what I ordered but gave me what you had on hand, a stale cookie instead of a brownie? Then he had the gall to tell me, with a big smile, to «keep the cookie, no charge!» No charge? I paid for a brownie, not a cookie and the cc muffies that I ordered & paid for are sitting right there in the case, not in my bag as I ordered. Tried twice to reason with him, pointless to argue. Third visit, yesterday morning — I walked out the door, forgetting to place the order beforehand and cursed myself repeatedly! Once inside, there were two people in line, one girl desperately trying to put an order together and about 4 people wandering about fairly aimlesslyand making no eye contact, including the two who are usually there. By the time there were about 8 of us in line, the manager came out, chastised the poor girl for not calling her for help, but said nothing to the others. To her slight credit, the manager did immediately walk behind a register and started the line moving. The girl moved to the register and the zombies? they kept on wandering back & forth, avoiding eye contact. Come on! Are you telling me this is the best you can staff your store with? Really??? A large chain has one way to stand out and it’s the level of customer service they provide, which these employees completely lack. I formerly spent about $ 100/week at Panera between personal and office purchases. The $ 15 I spent at Derby Street the other day is going to be it for me for a while. Maybe I’ll try the Shipyard, but I’m not expecting much better service as I’m told they’re part of the same franchise group. I’d rather stop at Whole Foods and pick up treats. It takes longer but at least I’m not overcharged along with a side of attitude.

Panera has really gone downhill through the years. I used to rely on it for a big gourmet sandwich wrapped nicely with a pickle. Now it’s just a step above Subway! I went two days ago and the person taking my order looked completely unhappy and confused and told me to slow down when all I said was lettuce and tomato… I wanted turkey, avocado lettuce and tomato. Got all the way home with it and found no avocado. Their bread isn’t crusty anymore It’s more like a Subway roll, the turkey is tasteless and the amount and freshness of vegetables is sad. I give up!

Panera is one of my favorite places to eat breakfast or lunch, and specially to get coffee, drinks, or just relax and/or get a treat for kids. Soup in a bread bowl is great! Any soup is a a major value which includes a hot bread product, like a roll, or baguette. It’s way more filling & flavorful than a typical fast food joint. Salads are also good! A bagel + coffee is one of my favorite breakfasts, especially Asiago or multi-grain. I do, however, miss very much the free sample tables they used to have back in the GW Bush Era, in which they often would lay out several kinds of breads, sometimes other things, often with flavored olive oils, or dips, dressings, or cheese, because it was a great way to try stuff I otherwise wouldn’t have known about, or new or seasonal foods, sometimes little samples of soup in a small cup. They also used to have a pizza product called something like a Crispini, or something. I even got a free one, once. Don’t know what happened with those, but they were good.

I really enjoy using Panera’s app to order and pick up. It is always ready when you need it to be. Love their salads, sandwiches and ooo that green tea! Flat bread sandwiches are a good side for a salad if you need something filling. This location tends to get crowded quick so use the app to order !

I had a really bad experience today at the Derby Street Shops, Hingham, MA location. The manager was extremely rude. I tried placing a rapid pick up order on-line(at 8:00 a.m.)which didn’t process correctly. I called the location and was told by the manager that they did not have my order. He was extremely, extremely rude from the start of the conversation and acted like he did not want to be bothered taking my order over the phone. The clencher was when I arrived at 8:40, my order had not been placed at all! I asked to speak to the manager and lo and behold the manager was the same person I spoke to on the phone. He never once apologized for not placing my order… was nasty, rude and totally uncooperative. This has really put a bad taste in my mouth(no pun intended) for Panera Bread. And as I was on my way to work… no food in my mouth for lunch either.

There’s just no love. No attention to any detail. You can order the same sandwich and get it made differently every time. It’s always very messy behind the counter and I’ve yet to walk out with everything I needed at once. Always running back in to get the flavor cream cheese I ordered, a missing knife, napkins… minor things but when you’re dashing out to work, you don’t have time to make two trips. Always seems to be understaffed. That said there are several women in the shop that seem concerned and engaged. Doesn’t seem to be anyone in charge though.

People seriously complain about the pettiest things. This Panera is great! I have never had a bad experience with the food, staff, or just the restaurant itself. Being at Derby street, it’s obvious that this place will be busy, so don’t come during typical«busy» hours and complain about it being busy. I’ve tried a large amount of the menu and every single item has been delicious. The wildberry smoothies are delicious and refreshing on a summer day, while the chai lattes are perfect on a snowy winter evening. All ingredients are fresh, so whether you get a salad, a sandwhich, a soup, anything– it will be as fresh as can be! The treats are made fresh every morning and the day’s left overs are never sold the following day. The dining area is always clean and there is always at least one staff member out in the dining area to make sure it stays clean. During the busier peak hours, staff members can always be seen busting their hump to keep the dining room looking spiffy. Not sure how anyone can seriously complain about this place!

They always run out of coffee in the morning, so you either have to go back and tell someone and wait 10 more minutes, or mix two different blends. The register is also understaffed in the morning, so even with just 3 people in line it can take 10 minutes just to get an empty cup. However the service and food is great. Just understaffed.

Never again! EVER! Breakfast stops at 10:30am. Yes, I am that petty to never to return to a Panera again. Management doesn’t care, Corporate doesn’t care. the cashier instructs everyone after 10:3o to complain to management about breakfast. So not only does breakfast stop but the staff is miserable too. So… I walked across the street to the Whole Foods Market and had a great breakfast with a much better staff.

I love Panera. However this location is very disorganized. The tables are never clean and the registers have like ten people ordering at once. Very confusing. I always feel so stressed at this location! Braintree location has it more together.

Hmmmmm let me write a review for a corporate restaurant that has relatively the same quality of service and food, no matter where you are in the world. Surprise: They have free wi-fi. Surprise: I ordered the same thing I always order(‘Pick Two’). Surprise: It was the same as it is every time and place I order it. Surprise: Ill be back again.

I am a HUGE fan of Panera, and I frequent the Braintree Panera several times a month. We went to the Panera at Derby Shoppes to grab some dinner. After we ordered, we were summoned to the pick-up station because they ran out of ciabatta bread for one of our sandwiches. I have no clue about breads, but they just stared at me blankly while trying to decide a substitute. The employee didn’t give me any good alternatives, or helpful hints for what would work best with the sandwich. So that put me off. When we went to sit, the dining tables were gross, so I had to wipe all of the crumbs/smudges off. My sandwich ended up being kinda burnt in the end, so it wasn’t very tasty.

This place was absolutely packed on a Saturday for lunch. I love the Derby Shoppes, but man is the parking lot a shit show. They should think about doing a parking garage to help remedy the lack of spots and the traffic in general. Anyways, I think Panera’s as a brand are okay. I love the soups, especially the Brocolli Cheddar, but the sandwiches and salads are meh at best. I tried the salmon salad and it was okay, nothing special, and it was expensive. Love the iced green tea though.

Everybody«almost» knows my name! I like coming here in the morning before work when there’s not an endless line out the door during lunch. The staff here are great and I noticed that they do remember some of the patron’s names which makes the visit a bit more personal. As for their food… most of the time it’s consistent and I don’t think a food review of Panera is that necessary. However, one thing I’ll say(and I hope the owners take note) is… please do something about the breakfast sandwiches! Since the eggs are cooked ahead of time and are left in a bucket of water… every time I get a sandwich its soggy or I feel tiny bursts of cold water every time I take a bite. At least pat them down or something… gee wiz! I also like the Panera card so thanks for the perks! However, I think I’ve submitted over a thousand of those damn«Panera survey $ 2,000 sweepstakes» entries online and always come up dry. Come on, help a brother out!

So, Panera has an excellent balance between not being too expensive(just barely) to price me out and managing to seem like a ‘higher end’ product. Especially compared to, say, Dunkin Donuts. This Panera is near my work and I manage to stop here once a month for coffee and a bagel and, on occasion, a sandwich to save for lunch. I love the Bacon Turkey Bravo. The food is consistently good and the coffee fresh. I have never been to a Panera that has failed me in any capacity. Pass
