Hingham Institution For Savings

This bank keeps sending us (at an incorrect home address) material on commercial banking. I sent them a letter back with a request to remove us from their list and that we are a private single family residence. They still keep sending the same junk mail. I just returned their recent letter along with my request for a second time to be removed from their mailing list. I’m hoping they will comply this time. They might be good for certain things but they do not pay attention to their audience, or perhaps the process for removing a name from a mailing list is slow.

So frustrated with this small time bank. left hand does not talk to the right hand, and when it comes to the Operations dept, they are always on lunch and you have to leave a message. I was in NYC on a sunday when they were hacked into and turned my card off, leaving me with zero cash and card. This is about the 4^th incident where I need to call Operations. Im DONE!

Just when you’ve given up on banks as evil empires you find a place like this. It’s a local bank but now with 9 branches in addition to the original one on pretty Main Street in downtown Hingham.
There are two branches in Boston now too; one on Tremont St. in the South End and a new one Charles St. on Beacon Hill.
Hurray for growing convenience.
Here in the Hingham branch which is the one we use, you’ll find friendly service from bankers and tellers that get to know you, good hours including Saturdays and an accessible and nice bank president. When we moved to town 15 years ago this became our family bank and where we got our then mortgage.
When our dog was a puppy my husband used to bring him in here all the time. The tellers got to know him too and liked him to sit on the counter so they could pet him. If that isn’t friendly, I don’t know what is.
No headaches, no attitude nor run-​around games. Those are just a few of the pluses to using this bank.
