The weather was absolutely perfect for the apple fest today! They had a lot across from Tops to park in and shuttle, because Hilton is a small town and parking is limited. You could also have parked in the Quest Elementary Lot. We did that, and it was really difficult getting out of it. If we go next year, the shuttle is the better option. The festival has lots of food stands, from sausages, burgers, pizza logs, beef on wick, etc. I got a pint of freshly made apple cider from Zarpentine farms for $ 1.50. They had various sizes for you to take home. Two farms were selling pecks of apples in various quantities. I grabbed a quarter peck of honey crisps(about 8 apples) for $ 3. The inside of the festival had lots of festival arts and craft stuff, fudges, candy apples, homemade sauces, etc. I had to get a large cinnamon fried dough knot to go with the cider. It was freshly made, and taken right out of the fryer. This is a great family event, with live music and lots to eat.
