Fairly descent food but shockingly unprofessional staff behind the bar(where most staff congregated). Treated to much undesirable chatter about personal lives while we ate. Many choices in HH. Will not be back here.

We ate here and had the Early Bird specials. It included a drink for each of us. We had a choice of wine or lemonade or tea. We chose tea and lemonade. We had a choice of soup or salad besides our entrée which was included in the price. We choice house salad. We had grilled salmon with vegetables(zucchini, yellow squash & carrots). Everything was delicious and when we come back here we will visit Red Fish again. This was a great find!

We were a party of 14 on a Friday night around 6:30pm in june. We had already been told there was a 2 ½ hour wait at another seafood restaurant and I called Red Fish to be told by a wonderfully sweet young lady that they would be happy to seat our party immediately! We arrived and were pleasantly greatly by the same Young lady and seated immediately to find menus(as well as kids menus) set up at a table for us. We were seated and almost immediately brought water and asked for our drink orders. I also asked for 3 separate checks as we were 3 families and was told it would be no problem by our lovely waitress Betsy. She handles our large boisterous group impeccably and was full of information regarding the menu. Our meal was to say the least, delicious! The sea bass was probably the best I’ve ever had and several of our party had the Cajun shrimp and lobster burger which was phenomenal! The side of maple cured bacon grits were to die for! Everything was amazing! We can’t wait to return next summer and visit again! I can only wish they would open a restaurant in Orlando so I could visit more often!

We usually enjoy RedFish. Sadly our latest visit will make it unlikely we return. At this price point our meals needed to be much better. Almost $ 300 with tip. 2 adults, 2 girl teens. I had the special. Locally caught fish. Came out almost cold. No flavor to speak of. I expected it to be very mild, but not flavorless. Calamari appetizer was far too heavily breaded. Our fault I guess for even ordering. Daughter’s entrée(shrimp & grits) was smothered in a cream sauce that was far too heavy. Also arrived room temp. Service was much too fast. We tried to slow them down but to no avail. Wine was not as recommended. Requested dry white Sauvignon blanc. Received sweet. In their defense server was nice and both deserts(choc chip cheesecake and blueberry tart) were very good. Sad to say but there are now several good restaurants that we will visit long before visiting RF again.

Fabulous venue; good atmosphere to sit among hundreds of wine bottles; food(specials) were creative and delicious; waitstaff were very attentive. Refilled water and took care of our empty drink glasses many times. We celebrated my friend’s birthday and were surprised to have our delicious dessert comped. Definitely a 5 star experience. 4 guys came in dressed as though they had just come off their boat or the beach and were shabby but… it is a laid back island, so we accept the dress code is non existent. Highly highly recommend this restaurant and order something«different»(not your normal fare) and you will not be disappointed.

My family and I come here every time were on the island because it’s so hard to find quality food! The food never disappoints in taste or quality and the service is great! I’ve sat both inside(romantic atmosphere) and outside(some places get very cockroachy at night but Red Fish never seems to) and would recommend either. They are known for their extensive wine menu and the waitstaff is educated and able to answer questions when it comes to drinks. When I am on island time I like to indulge in seafood 24/7, and this place has a great selection of seafood to really fulfill my mood — my favorite is their Cajun Grilled Mahi Mahi with apricot chipotle glaze! For meat lovers, their rack of ribs is quite appetizing as well and smothered in a really nice bbq sauce. To top it off they’ve got a dessert menu that allows for anyone to find something appetizing to have — I recommend the blueberry pecan tart! All in all, I think this is a great restaurant for seafood, drinks, lovely ambiance and great service for a reasonable price considering its dressy nature!

If you’re looking for a fancy place to have dinner, this is the place. The low lighting is romantic and gives the place great ambiance. The menu has a wide range of choices, especially seafood. The restaurant offers a long list of wine and also has a full bar. The service is friendly and efficient, and the food is delicious(with good sized portions, too). I would definitely go back to try different items on the menu. I should note that the night I was there, there were lots of small children around. I wouldn’t recommend bringing kids to this nice of a place, and I definitely would have had a better experience if I didn’t have to listen to crying babies or watch Thomas the Tank from the table next to us.

Visited recently. This place is more of a dinner spot. Seafood is specialty but has other tastes. There is seating in and outside. Large wine selection with full bar. I had the special which was Grouper and they allowed substitutions for other sides. Fish was fresh and tasty. The best part was the coconut cream pie, which was layered with yellow cake. Very good. Service was very attentive, others besides my server checked to see if everything was ok or they could bring something.

This place was recommended by the bartender at the Tiki Hut. We just happene d to skip lunch that day, so went for an early dinner arriving at 5. Seated outside, it was a beautiful evening. We were offered the ‘early bird’ specials(from 5 – 5:45) and the selections were great. I had the coconut shrimp – extra large, perfectly cooked with steamed vegetables and rice. My husband got the sirloin steak which looked and tasted more like tenderloin. Free glass of wine with dinner and our bill came to less than $ 50.

We went for lunch and were one of two tables. Arrived at opening of the restaurant for lunch. We were seated in the wine area. Service was great and food was exceptional. Everything is very FRESH. We started with the Blue Crab dip appetizer. It came with fresh tortilla chips and delicious Cuban Bread. I could have taken that home with us. There were three of for lunch. I got the Southwestern Fish Wrap, It was blackened mahi mahi, fresh avocado, roasted corn and tomato salsa. Highly recommend. One person got the Red Fish Quesadilla. You could get with beef, chicken or shrimp with avocado mango salsa, sour cream and Pico de gallo. The special of the day was blacken salmon. My husband got that with a bowl of potato and bacon soup. Very tasty. The décor is very contemporary. Loved looking at all of the wine bottles.

I have been here twice, about 10 years apart, and both meals were wonderful & memorable. Pricey, but worth it. Online reservations make getting a table simple. The staff is very friendly & knowledgable.

YUM. The best food I had during my stay on HHI. The sea bass was absolutely amazing. It’s one of their specialities and it shows. My friend and had scallops and lobster mac and cheese which was also delicious. From the bread to the entrees to dessert — it was all fantastic. Service was quick and friendly. What also made this place unique was the ability to choose your own wine from their retail store right in the restaurant; what a great idea. Red Fish is a must hit in HH.

It almost feels unfair to rate restaurants in other cities because of the quality restaurants available all over Charleston. I felt that Red Fish missed the mark completely. Other diners may think it’s top notch, but I invite them to try any restaurant in Charleston. As an aside, this was my first and only trip to Red Fish. After scouring the limited Hilton Head Unilocal reviews, I decided on either Vine or Red Fish. Vine seemed a little too uppity and fancy for a weeknight dinner, so Red Fish it was! We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and she acknowledged our OpenTable booth request. The restaurant is huge, but doesn’t have booths. Not a big deal. It had a nice outdoor patio dining area, a wine room and bar right when you walk in, and dining areas on either side. The restaurant was pretty empty for a Wednesday night. We were sat near a few other seated tables which I always find uncomfortable when the dining area is large with multiple vacant tables — although I get it’s for the waiter’s convenience. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls to start. They came out fast, I assume because the table behind us had previously put in an order as well. Our dishes came out almost simultaneously. It was great. I loved the chutney and basil oil combo. Unfortunately, this was my favorite dish. The table bread was great. It came with butter and a pesto mixture. Very good. I ordered the scallop entrée which came with lobster mac & cheese and asparagus. The scallops were rubbery. The lobster mac & cheese had one small piece of lobster. The dish was listed at market price which came to $ 34. Unacceptable IMHO. My bf ordered the Kansas City Strip. It wasn’t thick like one would normally see on that cut of meat. It came with spinach, fries, and blue cheese fondue. We couldn’t tell what the fondue was supposed to compliment, so I just plunged the fries into it. The fries were outstanding. The spinach was good. The steak was meh. This entrée was $ 39. We passed on dessert. The service was fine, the ambiance okay for a weeknight. For the quality of the food, it’s not worth the price tag. If I feel like spending good money on a meal in HHI, I’ll be getting reservations at Vine next time.

We had a delicious meal tonight! A couple of us ordered salmon, some had the grouper special and others had shrimp. Every dish was excellent. Great service and live music at 7:30.

The wife and I come to Hilton Head annually, and we usually eat at Red Fish once or twice in the week. It is our favorite restaurant here. We keep trying to find other restaurants as good, but so far RF is the best. From the service to the atmosphere, but especially the food, it is 5 star every time. We usually go during the early bird special time, and even though the early bird menu is limited, it is consistently excellent, and such a deal! I don’t know why we go elsewhere.

I was in Hilton head for the first time with my wife for vacation and went to Red Fish based on recommendations from friends. The service was great, the food was fresh, the wine list was ample, and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend this to anyone looking for great seafood in a nice atmosphere that is still casual.

This place was recommend to us by friends, family, and random strangers on the island so we had to check it out. Decent sized wine list, and perfect menu selections. We had the lobster mac and cheese as an appetizer and it was delicious. Lump lobster meat with a light cheese sauce, not too creamy or heavy. I ordered the Latin ribs. A FULLRACK! Huge portion. I had sweet potato fries and sweet and tangy slaw with it. My fiancé had the glazes pork shop with bacon grits and broccolini. Everything was melt in mouth. We did not have any room for dessert. Our severe was every changing. One girl took our order. Another delivered our food, a third checked on us, and it seemed like a fourth asked us about dessert and brought our check. Ambiance was warm and romantic. A much bigger dining area than I expected with lots of out for seating.

We literally stumbled upon this place when we pulled into a parking lot to turn around. We didn’t have a specific location in mind but had seen their ad. When we realized it was the same place we decided to try it. Being vegan — it’s not always easy to find substantial meals, especially at non-vegan restaurants. Our server(Chelsea!) helped us navigate our options and I must say, they were a home run. Normally you might get a watered down version of vegetables and some bread, but they have an outstanding hummus, hearty salads and a massive, well prepared vegetable plate. It was delicious — as I would guess all their dishes to be. The atmosphere was lively and the décor was very interesting. The wine selection is the best we’ve ever seen. Chelsea is a fantastic server — knowledgable, friendly and attentive. The support staff — equally great. The whole experience was high quality. We’d definitely go back!

Food was delicious here! The chef was very accommodating for my wife who has celiacs and was able to make a gluten free option for everything we requested. Service was a little off, but the art gallery and wine displays made for a beautiful ambiance! The blue crab dip was a tasty appetizer, while the bacon avocado toast was out of this world good! The seared ahi poke was also extremely enjoyable. I had the Cajun shrimp and lobster burger which did not disappoint; full of flavor and generous chunks of lobster and shrimp. The pan seared foie gras over cheesy grits was a delight, as well! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great date night with light and refreshing food.

I’m somewhat biased because I don’t eat fish so the only other option is chicken here. I did get the boneless chicken here however it was was okay it wasn’t boneless well it was on the bone still but bone still attached. I felt the chicken was a little dry. The salads were good and the dessert was great. We came here for a private party/event. The servers were nice, the bartenders were great but the appetizers/food I wasn’t too impressed with. Great ambience and service but food was average.
