Get the wings appetizer and pecan chocolate pie! If I were to choose stars based solely on my tomato pie entrée it’d be a 3. Warning: the wings are fried. The tomato pie was basically a fat fluffy quiche and the corn bread was pretty dry, but the wings and dessert really were delicious enough to bump me up. This seems like a real hit or miss dish type place, so I would take a look at pictures here to see what the dish is like.

Tried Annie O’s for the first and only time. Fried chicken tender but not much flavor. Meat loaf bland and boring. Jiffy mix like cornbread dense and not really warm. Started with chicken wings starter…3 over fried chicken wings with a small cup of honey and a small cup of cup hot sauce. No seasoning or toss at all… $ 8.45. Mac n cheese mushy(no taste). Nice wait staff, slow service(not very busy either). Next time we’ll wait in line at Sea Shack or A Low Country Backyard…

We walked in right when they opened, so service was a little slow but picked right up in a few minutes. Friendly server, never let our tea glass reach the bottom. Sweet tea is just right, not too sweet. Deviled eggs were just like you’d find at home. Nothing fancy, comfort food… my 10 yr old proclaimed them«amazing!» I ordered the catch of the day, blackened shrimp on a biscuit w/blue cheese sauce(or something like that.) So good! The shrimp were cooked just right and the blackened seasoning was flavorful but not spicy. The biscuit was light, not too dense the way some can be. The fried chicken was ok. 10yr old said it was 2.5 out of 5. I have to agree. Meat was watery(not juicy) when we bit into it. The meat had an unusual taste, if it was local(as opposed to mass produced) that would explain it. Macaroni and cheese was good, not great. A bit bland. Would eat here again.

Y’all Come! We are Commin’ back for sure! Great Southern home cookin’… Hidden away so you know you have found a gem! We started with yummy fried green tomatoes! Then batter dipped, finger lickin good Fried chicken and fried catfish with peach BBQ sauce served over cheese grits. Shrimp and grits are great too. Our favorite Sides were collard greens, cauliflower mashers, cabbage and tomatoes and the vinegar slaw. Our server was naturally friendly and helpful. We want them to open a restaurant in SF or Portland or both.

OMG this place was awesome! We started with the deviled eggs. Yum! Then I had the fried chicken, greens, Mac n cheese. The chicken was soaked in buttermilk and hot sauce and was fried to perfection! You could taste the hot sauce which was so good. My hubby had the shrimp and grits. He said they were the best he has ever had, and he tries them everywhere we go! The food was delicious, friendly staff and great service! The Devore was really cute as well! We will definitely be recommending this place to others as well as coming back!

Fantastic find! Another great place located in an unassuming strip mall. We were greeted and seated right away. I opted for an ice cold bud long neck and my wife had a berry moonshine cocktail. We had the deviled eggs as a starter which were great. For our entrées my wife chose the roasted port shoulder with potatoes and a giant slab of cornbread. I had the fried chicken with a side of grits and black eyed peas. Both entrées were excellent and of a generous serving. For deseret my wife had the coconut cream pie and I the chocolate chip pecan pie, both were out of this world. Our server was great and the bill was very reasonable also. If you enjoy down home sothern cooking stop in!

Annie O’s is classic example of what a great Southern Restaurant should be: Sharp but simple modern décor with 5 Star food. All he classics cooked to perfection. Mouth watering fried green tomatoes, scrumptious and heavenly shrimp and cheese grits, light and heavenly meatloaf with perfect collard greens and mashed potatoes and gravy, and nightly special flounder over cheese grits which couldn’t have tasted fresher. A must visit when on Hilton Head Island. Heather, our waitress, couldn’t have been sweeter or more informative because this was our first visit to HH Island. And the prices were excellent and the portions were huge.

This is a down home, hole in the wall restaurant. The food is truly southern, so expect chicken livers, shrimp and grits, pork etc. the prices are very affordable and the staff is glad to see you. Be careful, it is difficult to spot at night since the shopping center owner has not yet heard of electric lighting. The parking lot is quite dim.

Yummy homemade pimiento cheese and biscuits. Shrimp & Grits was good. Owner & bartender are really nice guys. Intrigued by the tomato pie, but too full to try it! Nice little place in an out-of-the-way spot.

Yes, now this is some good southern cooking. I really appreciate when I finish a meal an everything tastes exactly like it should. Great fried chicken, great fried green tomatoes. This is a simple good place to eat, and great prices too. Nothing fancy, the art on the walls prominently feature fowls(chicken paintings), and a few antiques. Enjoy, I did.

Good comfort food here… the wait staff was great(especially dealing with our party) and the bar staff did well for us. The food was all delicious and the chef/owner came out to talk to us and hooked us up with free drink coozies. Biscuits… awesome…fried green tomato… awesome…fried chicken… mouthwatering. No wonder we had to wait so long to get a table. This was a highlight of our vacation meals.

The fried chicken was pretty good. The Mac ‘n cheese was very mushy and not much flavor. Best dish was the shrimp and grits.

How do I aptly describe perfection on a plate?! My New England muffin top has been waiting a life time to enjoy a meal like this. Maybe you think I have no business reviewing southern cooking and maybe I don’t. But I can tell you this fried chicken was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Ever. The collared greens and mac and cheese were simply incredible as well. My husband had the meatloaf and said it was better than his… mother’s.(Oh the nerve!) We went with our three sons, and I have never seen my ten year old eat so much. The best part is two of my kids have food allergies so I was hesitant to try a random restaurant at first. But our lovely server(so mad I didn’t get her name – she told us she is originally from Buffalo — that one!) could not have been more careful about it and my son was able to eat the fried chicken because they don’t fry in peanut oil. Might not seem like a big deal to most but it was huge to us. I thought he was going to lick the plate and I could not have blamed him! The server told us the owner went to culinary school and had worked in upscale restaurants on the island, but wanted to bring people good solid cooking at a fair price so he opened this place three years ago. He has more than succeeded! Awesome food at a great price. I would go back to Hillton Head for vacation next year if only to eat at this place. Really. (NO, really.) What are you waiting for? Go!

Friendly staff. Lots of menu choices. Everything were a hit too salty for my taste. The best was the wings with waffles. OMG they were the best. The buttermilk fried chicken were good too but just too salty. Did not care at all for the pimento cheese and biscuits.

Delicious fried chicken, had take-out. Perfectly seasoned, crispy fried chicken, three generous pieces. Huge serving of delicious collard greens and fried green tomatoes, a specialty. This was a wonderful dinner, true Southern style. For dessert, the cream of coconut pie was exquisite, crust flaky and tender, the filling perfectly light and delicious, not cloyingly sweet as is often the case with homemade coconut cream pie. Would definitely eat here again often if we lived in this area. Wish there had been an umbrella outside table since we had doggy with us, in which case this would have rated five stars from us. Very good southern cooking! A winner!

Besides the food being amazing, EVERYONE there was so nice! We came from the Rockys so we don’t get Southern food very often. My husband said his shrimp and grits were the best he has ever had. I had the fried catfish which was delicious as was the grits and sauce it came with. We loved how quiet and quaint it was, not overly expensive and great food!

This is a hidden gem that only a tourist would find from Unilocal or other Internet source. Located on Arrow Rd in a shopping center for locals to find. Very clean and friendly atmosphere from the hostess to the waiter and the bar tender. Full bar available. Very reasonable prices, and there is something for everyone. Recommend the egg rolls, Mommas fried chicken dinner, with a sweet tea on the side. Definitely will return and recommend try eat what the locals eat!
