Best baked Manapua and pork hash! Tastes better than Char Hung Sut and Royal Kitchen on Oahu! So happy to finally get some really good Manapua in Hilo.

It was ok. We came here at 1pm, but they had very limited selection. The baked manapua with Cha siu, coconut and red bean were ok, but they weren’t fresh out of oven. I would pass on the steamed manapua next time. My son had a red bean fried sesame ball — he said those were really good. No A/c. A little hard to find in a set of industrial shops

Really delicious Baked Manapua and Steamed Manapua too! I am so happy this take out place has opened in Hilo. They offer several kinds of steamed manapua, including vegetarian, as well as baked manapua filled with char sui, sweet potato, or red bean. They also have Pork Hash, and Green Onion Bread, both steamed and baked. For sweeter fare, they have a very soft and moist mochi made with Sweet Potato or Pumpkin. I tried several of the items: Baked Manapua(char sui) is huge and delicious. The bread is soft and flavorful and the filling is sweet and satisfying. Perfect for keiki lunchbox for field trips! I also tried the steamed manapua with curry chicken, the pork hash, and both the steamed and baked green onion bread… these are HUGE! I just tried a little of each to be able to share this review with you. I look forward to tonight’s Netflix and Manapua night for me and hubby. Really, everything is delicious, fresh, and nothing like the mass produced«Seven Eleven» kind of manapua. It’s made right there at Yan’s Kitchen. I want it hot for dinner, so will steam the curry manapua before serving with sweet globe grapes. It’s a no cook night at our house tonight! For my fellow Hilo locals, the location of Yan’s is «the old Sputniks» along side of Apria Healthcare, Punahele Bakery, Sweet Thunder Products, Yafuso, and Audrey Hill Salon. There is plenty of parking because most of these businesses are grab and go This place is Take Out Only Morning After Addendum: Best way to eat the steamed green onion roll is the way the owner told me: Slice(like bread… don’t worry, it won’t come apart) and toast, then eat with butter. It is like the soft part of an English muffin. Looks like I will go back today to get a couple more steamed green onion rolls.
