Great small café right outside the falls. Its hard to miss. I am not sure if tour buses let you check it out. We drove ourselves, so had time to check it out. The only place we found«Fresh Coconut Water» easily accessible. They had ice creams and homemade jams.

It was a very hot day when we visited Rainbow Falls so we needed a cold drinks. We spotted the café across the street and decided to give it a try. They have a large variety of cold drinks that include coconut, pineapple, strawberries, etc. We had to try the frozen coconut. it was very good. We didn’t eat anything but, when we go back we will certainly try them for lunch.

Cute café stop after you get a look at Rainbow Falls. We ordered the Strawberry Lemonade, tropical sun tea and a fresh chilled coconut. The lemonade was decent. As a tea drinker, I thought the sun tea was bitter. Wasn’t great but a little refreshing in the heat. Our coconut was frozen but delicious!!! Can’t beat fresh coconut!!! It was, however, $ 7…After waiting for about 15 mins and hoping for the ice to melt, she offered another free of charge. Didn’t blow me away at ALL but I believe in supporting small business.

Cute little café right across the street from Rainbow Falls. After climbing up to the edge of the waterfall, I was in desperate need of something cold. Luckily for me that they serve delicious ice cream here! Their coffee is pretty good too. Definitely come check it out. The girl working last night was really kind and even gave my niece some bubbles to play with!

I got a snack at the Rainbow Falls Café in Hilo, HI on 12/12/2014. It was my 1st time there. It’s located right across the street from Rainbow Falls. I had a hot chocolate and some chips. Libby, my server, was very friendly and helpful. My photo of her failed to download, drat!

We visited Rainbow Café after a morning at Akaka & Rainbow Waterfalls. The café is immediately across the road from the Rainbow Waterfall with ample parking. They haven’t been open that long, and look like they are still trying to get situated. There is some nice seating outside, and we really liked their Rainbow Café sign & tables. We wanted the chocolate macadamia nut ice cream, but they didn’t have any — strange that a place focused on selling mainly ice cream had run out of ice cream. We settled for a couple of cream sodas(Lilikoi & Coconut) instead, and they were both very tasty. This business is in a great location, and as long as it stays stocked with ice creams as advertised, it should do a decent job of satisfying the tourists who need a cool refreshment after hiking around the Rainbow Falls.

Amazing little coffee shop next to Rainbow Falls. Surprisingly cheap and super high quality, all of the coffee is hand-pressed and the teas are perfect.

Best coffee in Hilo! The inside is small but there’s outdoor seating. Libby is super friendly.
