The crepes are good. My issue is with the over all cleanliness of the dinning room. There were stains on the walls and a dingy over all feeling inside. Other than that the food was fresh and tasted great!

This is a place you must visit if you pass through Hilo in your travels across the pacific. Thirty-some years ago Jimmy Webb wrote a song called Paul Gaughin in the South Pacific. Sit here and eat your crepes and listen to the piano player and you will be transported into the song. Excellent fresh food and a fine non tourist atmosphere at the edge of downtown

My daughter wanted to eat somewhere else originally but then she saw a crêpe place and was so excited. We stopped in and she bought a chocolate banana crêpe. I walked down to a different restaurant to eat and she happily started to eat away at her crêpe. I looked at her crêpe because I saw a hair in it and thought it washer own hair touching the crêpe. When I moved away her hair she was like no it’s not a hair. I said yes it is and she pulled it and it wouldn’t come out because it was cooked into the batter!!! OMG how disgusting! What unsanitary dirty restaurant would make that??? I walked back to the crêpe shop and showed the manager the crêpe. She said oh no it must have been cooked in the batter. I’m so sorry I will make her a new one with new batter and void out her payment. Then she handed me the new crêpe and I asked her where the receipt was for the voided transaction. She lied and told me she wasn’t going to refund it anymore. I told her to call the manager. She said she was the manager. I said then call the owner. I am the customer and you need to make this right. She acted like she was calling someone and then quickly turned to me and said she’s not going to do anything. The crepes are very small and not worth paying for. Regardless you shouldn’t come here because I bet they fail inspections. Dirty place and nasty rude manager. With no ethics and no customer service!

Went here for breakfast one morning, and the crepes were delicious! Incredibly friendly staff, quick service. It seems that it is one of the places in Hilo that still hasn’t attracted much [deserved] attention. One of the best places to get breakfast in Hilo for sure. Also, excellent ambience with nice music and décor fit for the area. Highly recommend, will definitely return again!

We stopped in here right at closing time at the Maku’u Farmer’s Market. She was so courteous and everything looked delicious, so we asked her for HER recommendation. Chef did not disappoint! We got the alaskan and shared it. ITWASPLENTY! It is one of the best crepes I have ever had. But better than that, the combinations of ingredients was fabulous! Salmon, onion, spinach, tomato, artichoke, sauce, feta cheese… I want to go back but I go home Friday! She will be one of our next stops the first Sunday we are in next time! Excellent!

Found out this place by chance. Absolutely loved it. Great service. Good food. And live music. This is one of the few places that have vegan crepes and don’t miss their dessert crepes. Their wine is quite nice too!

Great local spot in Hilo for breakfast. Very friendly service. Ingredients are delicious. Not overfilling just right. The menu has a wide variety of choices and is very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend coming here if in Hilo. Even has 2 outside tables.

The meal I had here was good but a tad off– kilter. I started with a Ceasar salad: Dressing was great but the lettuce was rather limp. Next up was what they call a Russian beef stroganoff crêpe, a thin, delicate crêpe wrapped around a beef filling that bore absolutely no resemblance to beef stroganoff(for the record, I make a pretty mean beef stroganoff myself). It consisted of shredded beef seasoned with a healthy dose of garlic and what seemed to be mozzarella cheese. The only stroganoff –like element was a drizzle of sour cream on the outside — but not enough to impact the flavor. Also, the filling wasn’t exactly plentiful, and since there were no accompaniments it really wasn’t enough for dinner. Some simple steamed vegetables alongside it would have helped a lot. So, still hungry, I ordered dessert. And the surprises continued. The menu described the dessert crepes as being half-sized, which would make sense. But my chocolate volcano crêpe was immense. To my disappointment, the only chocolate was in the crêpe batter. This chocolate crêpe was draped artfully over a mound of vanilla ice cream, accompanied by strawberries, a banana and lots of whipped cream. It was good, and massively more food than my supposed main course. Overall it wasn’t bad, but as I said, off-kilter and out of proportion. It was also the most expensive meal I had in Hilo. The 3 star rating I gave errs on the side of optimism.

Interesting little French café in Hilo. Very Parisian atmosphere. The menu is very focused on crepes, obviously a specialty here. It’s a perfect place to catch a late breakfast like we did after flying in from Oahu. I had eggs, hash browns, polish sausage and toast. It was all excellent and cooked fresh right when we ordered. Hashbrows were perfectly crispy and the sausage was great. Hard to go wrong with a classic breakfast. My wife had a ham and cheese crêpe and it looked large and delicious. She was pleased and especially liked her mimosa with passion fruit juice. Too bad I won’t be in Hilo for long or I would try the desert crepes. Only minor issue was that there was only one server and one chef. They were great but it took a good chunk of time to get our food. She was very attentive but there were about 4 other parties during our time and she had to take care of all of them. No knock on her, they could perhaps use another server at times.

Best breakfast on the island. Been here a week and traveling around the island. This is THEBEST breakfast yet. Crepes are magic. 1. Waimea Strawberry crêpe 5 2. Alaska salmon crêpe with artichoke spinach cheese. 4+ 3. Polish crêpe spinach artichoke polish sausage. 5 4. Benedict crêpe with no cheese. 4 The 4 are just the picky eaters. Definitely visit. Hole in the wall. Clean. Great service.

Delicious! Came here 2x during our trip to the Big Island — once for breakfast and once for dessert. Breakfast /lunch crepes are large and served with good amounts of their fillings(mine was mostly shrimp, avocado and some others) and the dessert crepes were light, sweet and enjoyable. We had both the strawberry banana and the lilikoi cream cheese ones and loved both. Setting: modern, chic, Parisian with some French and American classics playing lightly in the background. It’s a wide, open space. Restrooms were clean. Service was fantastic for both the day and night crews we encountered. Enjoy a crêpe here today!

The only magic that happens here occurs as you watch your money disappear in exchange for mediocre food and painstakingly slow service. We waited 45 minutes for over salted French Onion Soup and a knotty chicken crêpe(there were bones). Our server was courteous and kind, always refreshing our water. However, she couldn’t make up for the overall experience.

This place was simply amazing. We had both the onion soup(best I’ve ever had) and the soup of the day. They had breakfast, lunch and dessert crepes and also salads. The Greek crêpe’s fresh ingredients were to die for and we finished off with the Italian crêpe for dessert(Nutella and bananas). The service, staff and food were exceptionally terrific!

This place is spectacular! Food is great. Service is awesome! Tons of options. Portions are quite large so get your bang for your buck! Got the half and half salad and crêpe. Lilikoi crêpe for dessert. Very delicious. It was so good we ate it less than a minute! lol. Free two hour parking across the street.

I am about to bring the stars given to this place way down. I always give 3 strikes before concluding a review but I was so turned off in just half a day I needed to get this review out… my first negative review but I am just telling it like it is. I am in Hilo weekly and had every intention of trying this place and it meeting my expectations. So it was the perfect opportunity when my friend(and fellow Unilocaler) wanted to go for breakfast. Strike 1: We saw a pic posted of their hours on Unilocal opening at 7:30am for breakfast. So we arrive at 8am and saw their new sign opening at 8:30. So we wait. Strike 2: When they opened their doors promptly at 8:30am, they said their cook hasn’t arrived so we should go elsewhere if we were in a hurry… which we needed to get to work of course. So we didn’t get to try their crepes. People run late, I get it, but too bad it was on this particular day. Strike 3: My client coincidently ordered lunch from them so I was looking forward to trying their food. When I pick up the order, they have the nerve to ASK for a tip in a very stern way like I was being schooled before they gave me the receipt to sign. In my 8+ years of conducting business lunches doing take out, I have never been asked to leave a tip from any restaurant no matter the size of the order when doing take out. I usually leave $ 5 if it was an order exceeding 8 items, but this was 4 salads and 2 crepes. You didn’t do anything above and beyond in terms of service to warrant a tip. So I felt obligated to leave them a 15% tip which they totally did not deserve. You got my business on this day, but that’s where it ends. The shrimp salad I ordered was good, nothing special, but no matter how much I am craving crepes, I will get on Oahu. Get off your high horse and maybe a smile will get you voluntary tips next time.
