Whatta pie! Stopped in for a slice, left with a huge pie topped with a sweet and spicy italian sausage, savory meatballs, fresh onion, and mounds of cheese. Out of the way for me, but well worth the trip.

Solid Italian food. The food is always freshly prepared and the menu is extensive. I ordered a side of broccoli with my eggplant parmesan and even that was seasoned well. It’s not a fancy place, but the prices are not cheap. They are generous with portions, so I guess it works out. I like that it has a community feel. Everyone coming in seems to have a relationship with the owner. My bf told me it’s a staple of the community. I’ve been here a few times now and will continue to frequent this establishment. I’d like to try the pizza and the calzones in the future.

All I can say this is the place I’ve been looking for. The real deal. It reminds me of my Brooklyn childhood. The pizza– fugetaboutit! Crust with crunch and chew, sauce NOT sweet, perfect balance of cheese. I can’t wait to come back. Just thinking Abt the pizza — I may have to go get a slice!

This is the best pizza around. The sauce is always fresh and delicious. Mr Vitto makes a mean soup too.

Love the pizza and the wings. This is my «go-to» take out pizza place. I soooo wish they delivered! Parking is pain.

I have been coming to this place since I was in 4th grade and still cannot find a place that is as good. The pizza both regular and Sicilian are excellent, sauce and toppings are great! I have tried almost everything on the menu there and I have never been disappointed. I have read some other reviews especially the ones talking about the owner Vito. I have to say that while he can be a bit to the gruff side, he tells you like it is and if you are being stupid he will flat out tell you that. However, after you go there a few times and really get to hang out in the place you can understand why! M&Ms is the best pizza joint in hillside and probably in union county.

Was looking for a place that was near the airport and found this place through Unilocal Was not disappointed Small and homey as well as quick Not sure if Vito is the owner but he was the guy behind the counter Extremely friendly and was on a first name basis with everyone who walked through the door Pizza was great and I look forward to another visit

I come here a few times a month. I’ve never had a bad plate in the 25 years I’ve been eating here. Eat in, take out, good prices, nice crispy pizza with lots of sauce. Pasta is always good, salads are huge, sandwiches are always made well. They have bottled coke which is nice. Also nice fountain selections. Nothing bad to say, they even open on Sundays.

M&M is some great pizza. I agree with the other reviews… Vito(other than making great pizza) is some damn fine entertainment. He’s a great guy that makes some great food. Get yourself a slice. You won’t regret it!

Old school pizza and ambiance. If you grew up Italian and know what real Italian food is supposed to taste like you will be in heaven. If you don’t know what real Italian food is supposed to taste like, this is the place to come and find out! Vito’s food is delicious, priced right and a stones throw from Newark Airport. WELL worth the trip if you are craving chicken parm, good pizza and an espresso. 5 stars across the board!

Went here based on the near perfect rating expecting to have good pizza. But this pizza is just simple pizza. Tastes like any generic pizzeria’s pizza. Nothing special here. I would have given it 3 stars but I ordered a half plain and half olive&mushroom pie and what I got was a ¾ olive&mushroom pie. So now I’m still hungry. Maybe I’ll buy some actual good pizza.

First time getting take-out from M&M. Pizza was«good»…not great. It definitely could have been cooked a little more but was definitely made with fresh, home-made ingredients. We also ordered tortellini in a vodka sauce… it was just ok. Tortellini was a bit over-cooked and the«vodka sauce» was really more of a marinara. To be honest, I haven’t found my «go to» take-out pizza/Italian joint in Union yet… bummer. Wish I could give 2.5 stars…

The pizza here is rockin! It’s more expensive than the run of the mill franchise pjzza BUT it’s worth the price. You won’t get bored waiting on your food Vito will keep you entertained. One of the few remaining Pizzerias that has a real Italian working there.

If you want good old fashioned and ITALIAN pizza… This is the place to go. It has that pizza place vibe from when I was a kid and it very very closely resembles my favorite pizza place in the town I grew up as a kid. Living near Union, I now have found my local pizza hands down!

High marks from a family from California. Vito and his crew of magicians in the kitchen whipped up an amazing meal for us when we landed in New Jersey on the first day of our East Coast vacation. For the record, there are five of us including my wife and three boys, 16, 14, and 12. I checked the Unilocal app when we reached our hotel as we were in the mood for pizza. We found M&M ll in a search of the area nearby. We drove over(3.1 mi.) to the suburb of Hillside and walked into this small, clean place that took us back to the old days of pizza parlors. It was like a set right from the movie Goodfellas, one of my favorites. We looked at the menu and knew it was going to have to be a family style dinner and nothing less… So we ordered a large pizza, an order of meat lasagna, an order of spaghetti and meatballs, an eggplant parmigiana sandwich, and an antipasto salad… Did I say a family of five??? Well appetite wise maybe a family of 6 – 7! ;). We ordered a half pepperoni, half sausage pizza. Wow, the fresh cheese and sauce over the hand thrown,(right before our eyes) thin crust dough was amazing. So hot right out of the oven it was hard to wait for it too cool because it smelled so good. yes, my middle son couldn’t wait so he burned the roof of his mouth.dork. :) Next came the antipasto salad and again it surpassed our expectations. Large portions of rolled meats and cheeses over lettuce, peppers, onions and olives, topped with a zesty Italian dressing. Yummy. The large plate of steaming hot spaghetti was topped with a nice tomato sauce and two fist sized meat balls. Vito helped by professionally dishing out the goodness on to our plates. we enjoyed the service from such a friendly and welcoming host. The dish was outstanding from the first to the last bite. oh, I should say the last drop because Vito kept heating up home made rolls for us to sop up the juices from each of the plates. The several layer meat lasagna was thick and tasty, it was cooked to perfection with the cheese dripping over the sides, and the hot portions of ground beef sauce simmering inside. My wife is the eggplant aficionado and she told me it’s the best she’s ever had, the tasty eggplant was coated in a light layer of flour so there was not a fried coating to take away from the savoriness of the natural flavors inside. The roll was crispy on the outside and warm and soft in the inside. Another treat for the tastebuds! Overall our experience at M&M ll was one we will not forget. The food was amazing and the ambiance and homey welcome provided by Vito and his crew was the perfect beginning to our East Coast visit! Or those who are price conscious, the large two topping pizza, a serious sized pie, was just over $ 12. A more than fair price for this homemade goodness. We so enjoyed our time at M&M ll that we took a picture with Vito while standing behind the same counter he has manned for the last 32 years. M If you find yourself near the Newark Airport, and in need of a hearty meal or simply a single slice of pie, come to M&M ll. I believe you will enjoy the experience. I only hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

The BEST! The pizza, sandwiches, Stromboli’s, calzones, salad, everything. Vito knows what he is doing! Tell him what you like and he will make all your dreams come true! Best find!!! Trust me if you are in this section of the world, clean and healthy eating is hard to come by. Obviously his pizza and stuff isn’t healthy but his veggie pie is to die for — he also makes so many wonderful dishes! He plays with lots and lots of veggies — and I love that. So glad I work so close by!

I’d give the pizza 5 stars BUT Vito is a pain to deal with. I used to come pick up tons of pizza’s for my job. I always order my pies well done or they are a little to loose in the center for me. I worked in a Pizzeria for 5 years and I know a perfect pie. We used to say«it should be red when it comes out» for it to be red at M&M you have to ask for it well done. The flavors are definitely there. Good sauce good cheese nice crust. None of this is my problem. My problem is that when I order 10 pizza pies with various toppings you shouldn’t break my chops about how many paper plates I need. Seriously once he asked me how many I needed… I said«it’s like 10 pies I don’t know 20 maybe 25» he literally counted out 20 plates… we ran out. I do see alot of regulars in M&M. Usually a flock of school kids after 2:30 and alot of the Hillside police eat here. At first I figured it was my first time so it was whatever but when it was the 10th time and he was still ball breaking over plates I said forget it. Now I take my large order down to Domonics… they are glad to give me plates/napkins/sides of crushed red and bring the pies out to my car for me. My staff doesn’t even realize I switched places. I almost forgot. Once my girlfriend went to M&M for 2 slices and a coke… used her credit card… no problem… I walk in a hour later and order the same thing. I hand over my credit card and he refuses it without a $ 10 minimum. I get it pretty girl no problem, dude who regularly picks up 10 pies at a time only coming in for 2 slices and a coke… BIGPROBLEM. Had to eat somewhere else that day.

I love Vito. I love when I call in my order that he’s curt and to the point. He’s comes across as a curmudgeon but he’s a sweetheart. Knows the locals and its not uncommon for him to be with someone when you get there. I love his eggplant rollatini. Food is cooked fresh to order and piping hot on arrival. I love the small pizza shop. Its not easy to find these kinds of shops anymore. From the wood chairs to the checked red tablecloths. It’s authentic and the ideal pizza joint.
