The Roman Gourmet

I love this place. Their arugula pizza is fresh, healthy, and delicious. Their vegetarian chile is out of this world and something you can’t find elsewhere. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the prices are reasonable. I drive from Franklin Park all the way here for the chile. Highly recommended.

Hands down… my favorite pizzeria in town. The staff is always super friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. My fiancé and I love stopping in for a quick meal because we know we’ll always leave happy. Their pesto slices are incredible and I can always count on them to have a variety of different speciality pies whenever I want to try something new. Their rice balls are awesome too!

**Gluten Free Options**
We’ve ordered from here multiple times, most recently this past weekend. Props to their gluten-​free pizza option! I have had many different gluten-​free pizza crusts over time (including ones at other pizzerias in town), and this crust is by far the tastiest. It’s so good that a friend also orders their gluten-​free pizza because he likes the taste, not for health reasons. I would consider this pizza size a large personal size. It’s bigger than your standard individual pizza, but not quite big enough to share for a dinner. I easily ate the whole thing, it was that good!
Also, when we picked up the pizza (take-​out), the man behind the counter excused himself to wash the pizza wheel sitting on the counter before cutting my pizza. :)

We order and eat her all the time last two times haven’t been great but this takes the cake. I asked for a white pizza with extra ricotta I have gotten it here three other times. Usually it’s about a dollop of ricotta in the middle of each slice. We get our food home and this is what my pizza looks like. Gross and not eatable couldn’t even pick it up its was soup. So disappointing. Our dinners here are done.

Best pizza in NJ… thin crust & so many to choose from with fresh toppings (truly gourmet pizza but even their regular pizza is great!). A must try if you’re in Hillsborough!

Good place to come in for a couple of slices. Nice friendly staff and the place is pretty clean. They have a large selection and everything looks fresh. I’ve been in a couple of times now will be back to try some of their other offerings.

I love this place and the staff so much. Food is great and they are always welcoming. Great place to go with kids! The staff is awesome and kind. They make you feel like family.

Fantastic garlic knots, best I’ve had in a long time. A lot of pizzerias go cheap with the marinara but the sauce at Roman Gourmet was good enough to eat on its own. Very friendly owner and staff, I’ll definitely be back with my wife to try the pizza some night.

Standard pizzeria, by the slice. Pizza is OK. Usually a good variety of options as far as slices. Very friendly employees, and prices are very reasonable. Conveniently located in Nelsons corner by Shoprite.

Very good pizza. Stopped here for quick slice and found many creative options to choose from. Shared an arugula mozzarella balsamic on whole wheat, a thin crust «Sicilian style» with pesto and a Capri style slice with my husband. For slices, they tasted pretty fresh (it was after 8pm when we got there).

They also had some kind of «slurpee» drinks in several flavor a that I’m sure would be a big hit for kids.
Will probably come back and try some of their sandwiches. Nice menu.

I just had the biggest wrap ever. Unbelievable, fed me and my daughter. And healthy! YOU ALL ROCK!!! This sandwich is a wrap. literally a spinach wrap. Nice to find a place that is not making your dish smaller and the price higher. 6^th time there, pizza is also magnificent! The Roman Gourmet, Hillsborough nj… yee haa!!!

Very good and very fresh pizza. We get this for takeout often. Not very exciting atmosphere for dining in. We like to choose our own slices too from the selection of made up pizzas. Employees are nice too.

Very impressed. A slice, as it were, above the usual Hillsborough fare. And they deliver.

Not a great pie, but better than the average pie you’ll get at any NJ pizzeria. The pies from their sister location in Maplewood seemed a lot better.

The Pizza was good, fresh, etc as it should be. I do think, however, they are over priced for Hillsborough — I would expect a medium pie at $ 17.10 even for a specialty one to be priced at this point in Princeton — not Hillsborough.

Hands down our new favorite pizzeria in the area! My son loves the chicken parm slice and my favorite is the broccoli on white slice. The staff is very friendly and the place is spotless! We definitely recommend this place and will visit again soon!
