Very average golf course that is pretty simple and boring but very well taken care of. Love everything else about the place.

I have to say, I was a little dissappointed in Burlingame Country Club. It was definitely a fantastic course, but I set the bar really high on this one — and it just didn’t meet my expectations. The first hole was one of my favorites, a very old, almost gothic, staircase leads you to the first tee box. The back nine was much more interesting than the front, and the layout was confusing at times. All in all, a great course — but left me hoping for a little more…

Went to a wedding here yesterday and it’s was a very beautiful setting. The venue was both romantic and whimsical. The clubhouse furniture, décor and layout gives you a sense of it’s heritage. I don’t know how long the place has been established, but there is definitely some of that old school glamor going on. I guess I wouldn’t expect any less from an exclusive country club.

I just got off the phone with them because I had a question about the club, and I was greeted by one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. He was very snobby and dismissive. Must be how they keep out new people from joining the club.

I think I jogged around the perimeter before… which is likely the closest my middle-income butt will ever get to it. Nice landscaping!

My family has been a member of this club for generations. Nice pool, well kept tennis courts and golf course. I never really played golf, and tried a bucket of balls once. The ball never went more than a foot off the ground, and traveled maybe 50 yards. I was forced to take tennis lessons as a kid, and sucked royally at that. Until I found swimming! Some sport I was good in. Anyway, this place is expensive to join. Last I saw, it was like $ 50,000 initiation, and $ 800 per month in dues… plus food. You cannot tip the wait staff either. The food is really good. GREAT cobb salad, spinach salad, and potato chips … all homemade. They used to have a men’s bar … sorry ladies, but you have nice rooms to lounge in. My grandmother would play bridge here most days. Good buffets for the holidays where the kids get involved with Easter Egg hunts, Santa Clause, etc. The only thing is some members can be a bit snooty, hence the 1 star deduction. A nice place to visit, but can’t join just yet.
