We just happened to run into this place while we were driving through the town and starving. It looked like a very small mom and pop hole in the wall kind of place. We walked in and didn’t even think they were open. A guy came out from the back and took our order at the counter and then turned around and cooked it and then served it. Even though there was only one person the service was amazing! He was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Aside from all that the food was fabulous! We ordered fajitas and an enchilada style burrito which were amazing. I don’t normally finish my whole plate but we both finished our plates and would have licked them clean if we weren’t in public! Definitely coming back to this place!

Came here on my lunch break and I have to say I was very pleased and full after dining here. Food was delicious, came with complimentary Chips and salsa while the wait, food came pretty fast and was made fresh. Young man was very helpful and respectful with everything, thank you! Will be back again!

I was expecting authentic Mexican when I stepped foot in here being that the décor is made up of sombreros hanging on the walls. I ordered a carnitas pork burrito and it was ready in a matter of minutes. As I waited, an agitated customer came in to exchange his order which was apparently wrong, he got all the way home before making his discovery. My burrito was on the oily side and lacked any real flavor, I had to pour Cholula on this thing after each bite just to give it some flavor. As I was eating it, the oil kept leaking onto the plate. I had quite a puddle on my plate by the time I was done. I like my pork to be somewhat moist with some crispy pieces mixed in, but this was just way too greasy, a little disappointed with my experience here.

Mexican food once again hits Hillsborough in the form of Paisas. Offering the standard fare of burritos/tacos/quesadillas, one can also find slightly more exotic Tortas, Memalitas and Tostadas. All of the food thus far has been very good and way surpasses the quality of standard Mexican fast food and even most stand out chains such as Chipotle. As they are newly opened, service can still be a tad spotty but overall they have outperformed many other new restaurants I’ve frequented. Delivery service is prompt and the food always hot. Finally, the pricing is about on par with Chinese take out so Paisas offers a nice addition to the Chinese or Pizza delivery options in town. Paisas gets a thumbs up from me.

I only knew this restaurant existed from people raving about it on social media. While I was visiting my parents I decided to stop by and try it. My parents told me beforehand they had been and were not impressed. As many mentioned, the décor is sparse, if not non existent, and they don’t even have exterior signage with the restaurants name, it just says«Gourmet». We found it by following the crowd. The staff was a bunch of teenage boys, there were very friendly and provided good service. The food was out on the table after being ordered within what seemed like minutes. The menu is very basic and meat heavy. I ordered fajitas with just veggies and they served me the meal with shrimp. The waiter quickly took it back and a new meal was provided. Both my fiancé and I were underwhelmed with the food. It wasn’t bad but nothing worth driving 30 minutes for. I far prefer La Costenita if in this area.

New discovery for me. I truly enjoyed their food. Not your usual offerings a laTaco Bell! Authentic and delicious. The menu offered items I had never tried before. They are on Grub Hut too. Looking forward to working my way through the menu!

Great little spot, especially for take out. Everytime I’ve called an order in, it’s ready on 10 minutes without fail. The food, while not the most traditional around, is really quite tasty. And the portions are generous. Especially love their Taquitos and Nachos. For those that dine in, the décor leaves something to be desired. But they are byob, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Glad to have them close by! They make for a great option when you want something delicious, fast, and very fairly priced

Not bad for a local joint. Had the burritos and nachos which were pretty tasty. Worth a try but definitely not a place to eat at with any ambiance. We took our food to go :)

My husband and I were happy to hear a new authentic Mexican place had opened up a few minutes from our house. We heard good things, so we checked it out. It did not disappoint! Even though the ambiance was definitely lacking, the overall experience was excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and interacted with our 1 ½ yo. We were given free chips and salsa(unlike the other authentic Mexican restaurant nearby). I ordered beef tacos and my husband ordered a burrito. Our meals came out quickly! Now, I am not new to amazing authentic beef tacos. I would order them frequently from a Mexican food truck where we lived previously. I liked Paisas’ tacos even better! The quality of the beef was excellent along with the seasoning, but yet it wasn’t as greasy as I was used to which was a huge plus for me! My husband loved his burrito. They were very accommodating to what we had ordered for our daughter. Can’t beat the price for our all around positive experience. We will definitely be back many times when we are craving authentic Mexican!

Ordered takeout yesterday. All items were available and EXCELLENT! Empanadas were moist and savory, pozole soup was the best I’ve had, nicely spiced, guacamole was freshly made to order as well as the homemade chips! All portions for all the dishes were plentiful and fair to price. I clearly have enough for 2 – 3 meals including the chocolate cake for dessert… all of this for $ 25! Needless to say, I will be back. Paisas I wish you luck to remain here for a long time!

I ordered delivery from here for the first time a few weeks ago on GrubHub, and myself and my coworkers have ordered from here at least once every week since! The nachos are hands-down AMAZING and are an incredible value for the price-it’s easily enough for two to share and still be stuffed. The tortilla chips are so delicious and look home-made, and the toppings are generously portioned and super tasty! I’ve also heard great things from co-workers about the quesadillas and the burritos, although the taquitos are not quite as good of a value.

We went here for the first time today there was three of us. We ordered the queso dip for an appetizer. It was really good huge portion definitely enough for five people maybe more. I ordered the taquitos they were great! The price point is really affordable the bill for three meals and three drink plus an app was around $ 38. Nice casual environment. I loved the food would absolutely go back again!

Great little(new) Mexican joint. The enchiladas were wonderfully authentic. Chips and mole salsa were addictive(and free)! Will definitely come back. I read the other reviews which primarily gave negative reviews based upon decorations(or lack thereof). That’s true so if you are looking to be immersed in culture to make your meal then go elsewhere– at least until they’ve been open long enough to decorate. The important thing to my wife and was the quality and variety of the food. We found they hit the mark on that. Give them the benefit of time and give them a try!

Paisas has GREAT comfort food at a Reasonable Price. We had some items on the menu we never had before. We had a Great experience at a very informal place. Nothing fancy but, a very casual place to bring your own bottle and spend a relaxed evening with your friends. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you want food to go they have take out as well. Give it a shot!

My boyfriend and I have been ordering from here since they opened and have liked there food. We ordered lunch, carnitas tacos and a cheese quesadilla 5 days ago and when my boyfriend opened his tacos, he noticed they changed them. Today we ordered the same things again for lunch and his tacos were changed again and now my cheese quesadilla had spicy veggies in it. While some people might enjoy that, I simply wanted a cheese only quesadilla and was not informed when ordering that it had anything but cheese in it. I do not like spicy and therefore, I had to go back and return the quesadilla for one that is cheese only. They explained that they are changing stuff around to see what people like, but I simply do not think a new place should be changing their food around so frequently. However, I was thankful they remade my quesadilla for me, free of charge. Once I got home, I realized the one they remade HADCHICKENINIT! How hard is a cheese quesadilla??? That’s the point where I basically gave up. I wasn’t going to go back again. My boyfriend called just to let them know they screwed up again and the woman on the phone kinda laughed about it and said next time we would get a discount. Maybe my boyfriend can use that discount, but after that ordeal, I don’t see myself ordering from there again. If they would just stick to one way of making their food, so people aren’t confused/get what the ordered and wanted, it would be better. I don’t like having to guess what I’m going to get, especially when it’s something as simple as a cheese quesadilla. And when you mess something up once, fix it!!! If I was a vegetarian and was given a chicken quesadilla when I ordered CHEESEONLY, I would be beyond livid. Luckily, I eat meat. There are other Mexican places around this area and they have never messed up my order or changed a menu item without mentioning it. I tried to give this new local spot my business, but I think the older place will get my business next time.

First time. I had the enchiladas. My wife had the fajitas. We shared the gazpacho soup. Everything was very good. I agree with the other people who said there is no ambiance. There is none. But for takeout or if you don’t care, it’s clean and the service is friendly. I would give it a better rating if they fixed it up somewhat. Think luncheonette. Not for a dating crowd.

This little Mexican place just opened in the last couple of weeks. Ate dinner here on a Sat. night around 8. The inside is very spartan. Nothing on the walls, bare minimum of furniture. Not saying that this is good or bad just making an observation. There were a couple of other tables with customers. There seemed to be brisk take out business. The staff was very attentive. The menu seems a little on the small side. Complimentary nachos with two types of salsa. Both salsas were good but the green was hotter and the one I preferred. They were out of steak by the time we ordered. We ordered the Chicken Nachos and the Chicken Mole. The Chicken Nachos were OK, not bad but not great either. The guacamole in it was very good but the rest was ordinary and chicken was cubed and bland. The Chicken Mole on the other hand was very good. The rice and beans that came with it were simple but tasted good. The Mole sauce was flavorful, a good mixture of spice and sweetness. The chicken was moist and well cooked. Maybe it was a good thing they were out of steak! This plaza that this restaurant is in has some good places to eat, I really like Little Island(Jamaican) but I think this little Mexican place will see me again too.
