And I keep coming back for my B3 noodles. I’m told the other items are great, too. But all I can order are my Ho Theiu Bo Satay(Vietnamese Style beef noodles –B3). Best noodle dish on earth.

By far the best Vietnamese food on the west side. I eat here at least once a week when I’m in town. Food is fresh, flavorful and prepared with the love that can only come from a small family-operated place. The waitstaff are very friendly and helpful.

This place is legit! Everything is freshly made and their product quality is great! Grass fed meats, hand made meatballs, it’s all fab. I would eat here everyday if I could. I love the phở with beef flank! Oh and their beef rolls. don’t miss out on those!

Vivi’s is a local hotspot for yummy Vietnamese food. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is very good. I wish they were open later. The traffic on NE25TH(?) is a beast during rush hour, but it’s worth it!

I used to frequent this place 2 years ago but went to work for a different outfit in Portland and have not been here since than. I have told so many people of how great their food is until just now, they’re cutting corners and it shows in their quality and also the quantity too, I ordered a combo noodle soup and an order of salad rolls, after taking pictures of the salad rolls they were giving me the stinky eyes so could not take the picture of the noodle soup. Price remains the same but the size of the salad roll has shrunk to 50% of its original size and instead of using soft tender slice of barbecue pork they’re using really thin sharp/hard brittle piece of pork that punctured and cut my gum inside my mouth, and their phở /soup broth has gone way down hill too, it used to taste really good without your mouth feeling greasy, now they’re using something to enhance the flavor as I can taste the weird after taste in my mouth along with that greasy feeling that coats your mouth long after you’ve finished your food, the place is still clean with good service but that is the only thing they have going for them now, and to those who are concerned about MSG, be alarmed! Notice the pictures of the bottles of fish sauce they’ve placed on the back service entrance-back parking lot which I’ve uploaded, that fish sauce contains 35% or more MSG per bottle, they consider it as a flavor enhancer and not as a preservative so apparently when you change how or what it’s used for apparently it’s okay to use and sell saying they do not use MSG! Because they’re not using it as a food preservative instead it’s a necessary«spice/ingredient» or flavor enhancer. If you go to any stores that sells these fish sauce bottles, please read the ingredients! Maybe they’re thinking their customers are dumb and stupid? Maybe they don’t know what they’re doing? You be the judge!

Excellent fresh and delicious food. The chicken was cooked to perfection: crispy without being brunt, and flavorful. This place is extremely busy during lunch. I would recommend going at opening-11AM– or taking your good to go. The dinning area with the short ceilings and small area is LOUD. It was difficult to carry a conversation. The staff also had a difficult time keeping up with the pouring onslaught of people coming in. It might be a good idea for the restaurant to consider expanding the location or moving to a larger location to accommodate their popularity.

My Family & I have been coming here for years and every time we come the service & food are consistently outstanding & delicious! This time we ordered our traditional spring rolls & summer rolls, my personal FAVs! I had the #1 and my son ventured out & tried something new«Super Plate» and it did not disappoint! Meats were tender, juicy & flavorful. Definitely the BESTPHO we’ve ever had!

If I could have their lemongrass tofu everyday, I would turn vegetarian in a heartbeat! We had their lemongrass tofu with rice which was delicious. The tofu was well seasoned with herbs and bits of pepper and onions and the rice was cooked just right! The beef noodle soup was an amazing combination of spicy and very flavorful! Also the noodles they used in this were the the linguine shaped rice noodles they normally use in phở, which was awesome ! It felt like being back in my mom’s kitchen! The food here has a very homey feel to it! They have a small garden from where they get most of their bamboo shoots, lemongrass and other herbs I’m guessing and their food is always fresh! The hostess at the counter is very pleasant. They do take reservations for party of 6 or more. Since it is a little bigger than a hole in the wall, expect waiting during lunch times! P. S. Dont forget to end your comfort meal with a Kopiko coffee candy… Delicious!

I haven’t had phở in almost 2 years. I swear the last time I had it was in Vietnam. My girlfriend loves Vietnamese food(and this restaurant) and wanted to take me here because she thought I would be a good judge. The broth was amazing, it reminded me of the phở I grew up eating in Seattle. It was less reminiscent of the types I had in Vietnam but I think I grew so accustomed to the U.S. version that my tastebuds have categorized it as «consistent». That being said, it was everything a good broth should be; salty, warm, and leave you with that comfortable I’m going to sleep now mindset. My only qualm would be the fact that 9.50 for a bowl seems a little excessive, especially given the fact that there wasn’t a lot of beef in the bowl(it was perfect though). All in all, I dig this spot. If it wasn’t so far out from where I live in Portland I could see myself coming here for a hearty bowl.

I’m actually disappointed in the Unilocal reviews for once, it was really misleading that this place would be amazing. I cannot agree that the food was amazing, but I can say that the food is 3⁄5 stars, service is 4⁄5 stars, and location is 5⁄5(because it’s Hillsboro and Vietnamese food can be limited unless going into SE). This is a very Americanized style of Vietnamese food and they certainly do have a fan base. However, I would not agree that the food is on par to a more traditional restaurants in the area or that in California. As I was with my in-laws, who are Vietnamese, and my husband — we were divided whether the food was good or bad. My husband enjoyed his Phở Dac Biet as it had good flavor and wasn’t too bad, but it lacked what most traditional Vietnamese restaurants would include in a their Phở Dac Biet such as flank steak or brisket(we’re aware of this as it was listed on the menu what was included). My father-in-law didn’t have any complaints about this Bun Thit Heo Nuong. However, my mother-in-law and I were disappointed in the Bun Bo Hue as there was a lack of meat and the noodles were not the thick BBH noodles we’re accustomed to – the spice was on point though, kudos. Vivi’s VNH definitely makes the most with the limited ingredients they put into their dishes and I give them major props for flavor. Would I go back? Certainly, this isn’t an end all and I do want to try their rice rolls in the future. Key point though — if you’re looking for a traditional Vietnamese place, you may need to look elsewhere.

I returned here recently and I will say the service has improved. We got our orders in and for our food very fast. The quality of the food was never a question. I had the Phở Dac Biet and loved it. The noodles are perfectly cooked with a tiny bit of chewiness to it, most Phở restaurants tend to overlook the noodles. The low ceilings are still an issue noise wise. It gets very loud in there when there is a decent amount of people seated. My friend had the beef salad roll that he enjoyed very much. The lemon chicken is great with good flavor and a decent size portion. I will be coming back. I am happy I decided to give this place a second try.

The lunch hour can be busy, you may have to wait for a minute or two but outdoor tables are open if you can bare the summer heat. We were here today for lunch. Coming from San Francisco where we have millions of Vietnamese Restaurants nearly in very corners this place earn 5 stars! The combination phở(p4) is tasty and delicious. Not much variety of meats on it but it is decent enough for Portland’s class. I will return!

Came here a while back and enjoyed a good vegan meal after a long bike ride. Apparently, I never got around to review them. Oops! Guess I better go back again. Oh darn. :) Knowing me, I most likely got the vegan rolls and tamarind soup. I remember leaving happy, full, and wanting to go back. Guess I need to so I can leave a decent review.

For those who have not experienced Vietnamese food, you are missing out. I’m Korean and don’t get me wrong, I don’t discriminate against any type of food because I love it all, but Vietnamese fried rice is the best thing ever. Now that I got your hopes up, unfortunately they don’t have fried rice here. BUT rest assure, they have many other delicious options. Most of these reviews will be about the Phở because that is what is most popular. I have only tried the broth because I wasn’t feeling well and needed a pick me up but it’s pretty flavorful. The staff is really nice. One of the only places that has Bahn mi(sandwiches) and omg seriously the best sandwiches ever! The bread is fresh and perfectly toasted, the toppings and fresh and the meat is delectable. The mayo they use is a little sweet but adds just the right flavor to complete the sandwich. Definitely a new favorite place for me! Couldn’t give them five stars because parking is a bitch. There is probably about 8 stalls or areas to park and the building is tiny. It gets pretty packed inside but it’s worth the trouble. Also the menu is kind of small, which I understand. But still would be nice if they have com chien(fried rice options). Overall a great place to grab some bomb Vietnamese food. I recommend it.

Vivi’s isn’t quite hitting my Vietnamese sweet spot. First of all, as a regular evening visitor to Hillsboro, I always seem to arrive when they are about to close for the night. Their hours are 11:00a — 7:00p seven days a week. So you can go for dinner as long as it’s an early dinner, but this is really much more of a lunch spot. If I was advertising the business, I would call it ‘charming’ based on the cottage exterior with the ivy covered walls. But, the interior is quite cramped and the place is always crowded when I visit. Service has also been slow. And phở in particular is not I food I want to order go, especially since I’m not headed home or to work. For me, phở-to-go is kind of a no go. Also, on my of my visits, I ordered something that is definitely on my list of ‘never again.’ The Gi Cun 4 Màu(Rice Rolls) with peanut sauce was really disappointing. I ordered the combo plate so I could sample all four(pork, shrimp, beef and chicken) and didn’t particularly care for any of them. The peanut sauce also was thinner than expected with a smokey taste. Not my thing. I like it enough that I feel it is worth giving it another try to find a dish that overcomes the negatives I’ve experienced so far. The quest continues…

If you want authentic phở, this is the place to go. Every other time I have visited this restaurant, the food has been consistently good. The food and the service keeps me coming back over and over again. On my last visit, I had the Sweet Tamarind Specialty Soup and I loved it. The different flavors in this soup just blends in together and just fits in very well. You can see in the kitchen, where they make the soup stock and the whole place just feels very homey like you are in your Vietnamese Aunt’s house and she is cooking for you and the whole family for a celebration. I just love it here. The prices at this establishment is not expensive and the food quality is exceptional. I have deemed this as my go to place for Vietnamese, whenever I don’t feel like cooking.

We decided to try this place today based on Unilocal reviews, since we were in the area and we don’t know many places in that area. We were glad we did. When we first got there we had a good impression of the place since it’s really nice from the outside, plants and flowers, very clean also. Inside we had the same impression, also very welcoming employees, nice decoration, and great prices. For appetizer we had the chichen spring rolls and they were very tasty, my husband order the beef phở and I order the chicken phở, they were both very good but we both agree that the chicken one was much better. We were very glad to find a good place to eat in a unknown area for us. Our waiter was D and he was super nice, very helpful and seem happy to be there wich is very important, he answer all our questions and check on our table often even do it was getting very busy and he was the only waiter, but even he was busy he maintained his smile. After we got out we took a short walk around the restaurant and enjoyed the beautiful garden in the back, we would love to come back and eat outside once. We definitely recommend this place and we would love to come back.

Great lunch spot close to the Intel campuses in Hillsboro. A ton of quantity of yummy vietnamese fare is doled out at this family run joint. I got the Vermicelli bowl with Chicken and shrimp spring roll. The spring roll was ok, the chicken and vermicelli were fantastic.

I must say this is the best phở place in town. The broth is simply amazing. Obviously i don’t know how they make it. But it tasted to me like it was cooked and simmer from beef bones for hours in order to produce that kind of tasty broth. Both spring rolls and salad rolls are delicious. Service are fast and friendly. it’s a cozy place with maybe 10 tables top. but they’ve improved the seating and parking with another building near by. Yes… of course there’s a wait during lunch thanks to the intel crowd. Go there before noon or call in advance if you have a large group to make reservation.
