I just left this store. It has a great selection, and was very clean. Unfortunately, I left without my desired purchases after waiting 35 minutes at the cutting counter while two associates chatted and put things away, and the cashier putzed around straightening out the front Christmas display. I wish I could say it was the first time I left this store empty handed because of this same situation, but it’s not. I think I’ll be avoiding this location in the future.

I try to avoid this Jo-Anns location when I can. The staff is rude, especially the older lady with the curly hair(wish I had gotten her name the last time I was there). She was visibly rude to a younger sales associate in front of me at the cutting counter, and then was not friendly to me and was acting mad at me for placing my fabric in the wrong location. This is also one of the more outdated Jo-Anns stores. Instead of calling numbers over an intercom or even having a number showing on a screen, they have a sliding stack of papers with numbers on it, and expect the employees and customers to watch it closely and move it accordingly. I’ve never seen this sort of thing at Jo-anns before, but they really need to update it.

Absolutely awful. On multiple trips they have had a single employee working at the fabric cutting counter when there are over 15 people in line. The cash registers are equally miserable. If you are planning to visit, then set aside at least two hours. You can raise your own sheep and make your own fabric in the time it takes to complete a purchase at this store. I have never seen a place in such dire need of an operations management consultant.

A big store full of lots of fun stuff. It took me a while to track down what I was looking for, but it was really cool to look at all the other fun projects I could start(if I knew how, and if I had the time and money). The store was clean, and Sylvia was extremely helpful by showing me the JoAnn app. I’ll be back again!

It feels a little unfair to rate this Jo-Ann store so low because prior to the new Jo-Ann’s located near Orenco, I would have given this place 4 stars. But now, after seeing how good a Jo-ann store can be… and how much this store lacks… frankly, their lucky to even get 3 stars. It’s maddening to me why this store can not stock good items that the large Jo-ann store in Orenco does. I understand they can not stock the same quantity due to size constraints, but that which they do have is not the best Jo-ann’s has to offer. For instance, the yarn selection. If you are looking for the cheap Red Heart acrylic yarn, this is your store! But, for someone like me who shops around for the better, higher quality yarns, you will not find much of that here. Over and over again they continue to discontinue carrying the better yarns they once had in stock. Also, smaller things like craft supplies, little odds and ends type things are usually low and often out of stock. If you are looking for something specific, like safety eyes in a variety of sizes, don’t go to this Jo-ann. The variety is just not here. But the big Jo-ann has it all. This can be said for everything from scrapbooking, beading, baking, yarn and framing. What this Jo-ann store does have a lot of is quilting fabric… and that is about it. Honestly, I do not know how this place is staying in business. I spoke to the manager at this location about my concerns and he too seems to share in the same concerns, but he made it sound like his hands are tied and that the corporate office decides what he gets. Weird. A manager should have more control over his/her shop. They are on the ground seeing what needs to be done to make their business thrive. Something that bugs me about ALL Jo-ann stores is that they do not keep a computer data base of their inventory. If you were to call in and ask if they had a certain brand of yarn in a specific color they wouldn’t be able to tell you by looking it up. They would have to physically walk to that department and look. Also, if they are out of any item that you need they have no way to tell you if it will be reordered. They always say that the corporate office decides what they get. And heaven forbid if you need to order something and don’t know the SKU number. Even if you know the brand, color, dimensions and all else… they can not assist you in a special order without a SKU. When dealing with fabric that is nearly impossible for a customer to provide. unless they bought the entire bolt. The entire company seems to be run under a very inefficient and confusing system that ties the hands of the employees who are best able to push this company into further success. Makes absolutely no sense to me. On a brighter note, I love the iphone ap, the loads of coupons and sales. Can’t beat them!

Very nice greeting by cashier at entrance. They were helpful and had what I needed. Smaller selection than the Tigard shop. Checkout Lines seem to develop rapidly at the Joann’s. Great spot for unique gifts, too. If you’re not crafty, they carry all kinds of unusual décor and stocking stuffer/easter basket type trinkets.

There’s nothing wrong with this Jo-Ann, it’s just small and they don’t have much. It’s relatively organized, and the staff are friendly. There’s lots of parking. I’ll run in if I need something quick or something really basic. If you’ve got a few extra minutes, I’d recommend driving up to the one in the Orenco shopping center off Cornelius Pass — it’s much bigger and worth the drive.

While they did carry one of the crafting tools I couldn’t find at some other stores, their selection of everything else felt kind of lame. In their defense, I came here on the Saturday night after Black Friday, so they might have been kinda cleared out. Either way, it’s a smaller location. Paper selection was MEH. While I would never drive that far for paper, the selection at the 82nd location(in Portland) is way better. I couldn’t find a holiday themed/Christmas rubber stamp to save my life. No trees, christmas sayings, wreaths, starts, Santas… nothing. Weird. Decent amount of supplies for scrapbooking or card-making, but super small stamp section. Store was kinda of messy. I kept knocking things onto the floor that were sitting in the wrong spots… maybe still the aftermath of holiday shoppers from the day before? Pros: Their sale pricing was really good, and the cashier guy was nice enough to give me the coupon from their mailer because mine was at home.
