Excellent food had the turkey pot pie.
Service was prompt and courteous our waitress was Brittany she did a great job.
Great selection of wines and draft beer.
Had the fort George beer.
Highly recommend Diversity Café!

I had the fish & chips. It was more breading than fish. The waitress asked me how my food was, I tried to explain to her that it was way over breaded, she just wanted to argue that that is what you get with hand breading. I have a beach house, I eat a lot of fish & chips, this was lacking. The fries are seasoned with fresh rosemary, which I found over powering, a hint is nice, but this was over the top. All in all not my favorite place.

had a perfect steak tonight. the food was all spot on and the desert topped it off perfectly. They even sang my girl friend happy birthday. We will be coming back again soon!

Classic comfort food done to perfection! I’ve never had Taters taste so good WITHOUT gravy. The Mac N Cheese reminded me of my grandmas, and the brisket… Oh My Goodness, the brisket! Melt in your mouth w/​a sauce I swear was flown in from Memphis! You really can’t go wrong with this place. They catered a Birthday lunch for my coworkers and I, which was tough because I kinda wanted to take a nap afterward… The sign of perfect BBQ.

My husband and I came in for breakfast a few weeks back because he wanted to try out their biscuits and gravy and brisket. I ended up having an omlet breakfast with a side of bacon.
Pluses — the bacon was thick and crispy and my breakfast potatoes were also delicious, as was the brisket my husband tried. Also, the service was great. We had a really pleasant server who was very nice and attentive.
Minuses — I’m not sure what the chef added to the eggs, but they had an odd texture and the gravy was just meh. I get the ventilation issue that another post mentioned. There is kind of a burnt smell in the restaurant and my coat and hair smelled like the café for the rest of the day.
Looks like a lot of the reviews are around lunch and dinner, so I think we will give them another try for one of those meals.

Awesome service and even better food! My fiancé had the Diversity Sampler for breakfast and I had the Eggs Benedict. High quality ingredients — thick bacon, top quality sausage, delicious ham and a smoking brisket on the sidewalk that will definitely bring us back again! Can’t say enough positive things about the Diversity Café!

I’ve been in twice now and had great meals both times. For dinner I had the brisket and my husband had the lemon dill salmon. Both were wonderful. The chicken tortilla soup was amazing, could of had a meal of just that. Today I had breakfast, eggs benedict. They were spot on. It’s so nice to see a new restaurant downtown. Looking forward to many more meals here!

So I wanted to give a shout out to the community. Come check out Diversity Café, the food was phenomenal, I had the seafood chowder, salmon moouse bites, and the delicious macaroni and steak bites. Plus for dessert I had lemon bar and apple crisp, topped with off with a delicious Corona beer. I must say I was stuffed. Lol, come enjoy some great food. You will be pleased.

Great food. Great service. Wonderful variety. Brisket sandwich was very tender and flavorful. Only sorry I didn’t have room for desert it sounded wonderful.

Wow! Where do I start??? We were greeted with a smile and had excellent service throughout our meal. The food? Wonderful! The portions? Large! The price? Very reasonable. Diversity Café has a good variety of food. Something for everybody. Every plate of food we saw go by looked extraordinary. We will definitely be back on a regular basis. Diversity Café is definitely an asset to Downtown Hillsboro.

Had a chance to try out this local place last week. It’s great to see another restaurant in downtown Hillsboro! I would give 4 stars, but there is a major ventilation problem that needs to be addressed first (see below).
The food and service were both very good! We had sandwiches and salads. The foccacia bread was very tasty. Sandwich had a TON of meat on it, so that was a good value. Very attentive service. Coffee was good quality.
The smoker out front was going full-​steam and smelled great (that’s not the ventilation problem)! All of the food that went by to other tables looked good and several customers were complimenting their burgers, etc.
Now for the problem — this is NOT new to this business. Every restaurant that has occupied this space in the past couple of years (unfortunately, there have already been three that didn’t make it) has had this exact problem. The ventilation in the space is not adequate for a restaurant and therefore the place fills with the smell of fryers/​grease/​smoke/​etc. It was so thick that my eyes wouldn’t stop watering! And worse than that, our clothes smelled like grease the rest of the day. And this was with one of the doors open!
Anyway, it’s a problem that really needs to be addressed in that space for the restaurant to be an enjoyable environment. Good job on food, service, and the new décor — just one more thing to work on.

Tried this new restaurant for the first time last night. Wonderful decision! The seafood chowder was excellent! Sherry creamed chicken breast with rice pilaf and broccolini, hubby had, and it also was wonderful. We need to keep this little restaurant in business. Hillsboro is woefully lacking in gourmet food, at any price, but Diversity Café’s prices are excellent as well as the food. We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely out of this world! Chef Duane Vasquez and the staff did a fantastic job. I just went to breakfast with my dad and it was terrific! I had a very good chicken fried steak and dad had a great salmon scramble. The breakfast potatoes were stellar and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Nice, clean restaurant with a friendly staff and great bang for your buck. Give them a shot, you’ll be happy you did! Keep up the good work!
