This event had a lot of promise but it was a total flop due to a complete lack of logic in the planning, and no communication with the public at all. It was a total disaster and a heartbreak for my little boy. It was supposed to be an all day event with live music, a movie on the lawn, inflated attractions like a big slide and a moon walk, food vendors, ducky derby and games. The ducky derby was supposed to go until 7 but they didn’t tell you that you could only buy a ducky up to a half hour before the race. There were no games or crafts or activities that I could see anywhere. The live music was there but stopped at 7 when we got there.
All the flyers and signs for the event said it ran from 4 — 11. We waited until we the sun went down so it’d be a little cooler and hopefully less chance for rain. But we got there at 7 and everything was closing up. The whole event was packing it in for the day four hours before it was supposed to end. My little boy has never been in one of those moonwalks. I showed him some pictures the night before and got him all excited to go. He got up to the moonwalk and started to go in but the bouncer stopped him at the door. He let in every kid before him but stopped him. He said they were closing up at 7:00. It didn’t fully sink in on me until we were walking away but now I’m really upset. Who turns away a four year old? He couldn’t just let him go in there and jump around for ten minutes? He couldn’t let one little guy past the limit go in for a few minutes? This was the most interesting thing to do here besides the pool and they wouldn’t even let him do it. He was heart broken and I was heart broken for him. He had to stand there and watch all the other kids play. Then after about two minutes he kicked all the other kids out too. At least one of them that I saw was crying. Nowhere did it tell us that everything was closing up at 7. I had it marked on my calendar the games part until 8:30, which I took directly off the flyer. That’s an hour and a half difference and that was the only place I saw it. All the signs said 4 – 11. There were two other mothers there that were complaining and had the same problem we did. I’m going to complain to Supergames, the company with the moonwalk and big inflated slide. As for the event, the movie that they were going to show on the green didn’t start until two hours later. But they took down all the fun stuff there was to do: the rock climbing wall, the game truck, the moon walk and the big inflated slide. So what were the kids supposed to do for two hours while they waited for the movie? The flyers said food vendors. There was a cart selling brats and hot dogs, and one selling smoothies. That’s it. I thought the flyers also said there were going to be trucks there for him to check out but I didn’t see any there. This event was a flop and I really think they should reschedule it.
