Every single dish is the best… been coming here since it opened. Best sushi around and the kids love hibachi.

My Fuji is a very scenic place its up on a mountain off of the highway there are big windows in the inside so you can stare at the endless traffic. I had it in Who Bocy style(did I spell that right, I don’t think so) where they cook it in front of you and you to watch them, they also try to peg food in your mouth(it missed) and they do tricks like throwing knives in the air and hope that he catches them with the blade not pointing down and more and the food is delicious it has just the right amount of spices and juices

The worst I have eaten in a long time. Eating out a lot I know good food, bad food and great food. Mt Fuji served us lousy food and kept padding the bill when the menu stated that stuff was included. $ 189.00 for 2 adults and 2 children for Hibachi. Overrated and over cooked but the real kicker was the roach baiting systems 2 of them under the table when I got up to leave. Thank God my sons one of which we were celebrating his graduation did not see this he would have vomited. Never going back.

We had a wonderful experience at dinner last night. The location is beautiful, from the entranceway on the main road to the drive up the mountain to the restaurant. We had 8.30pm reservations but we got there around 7.45pm since we wanted to check out the scenery. The bar area was great, very spacious and there was a piano player. We grabbed our drinks, the Red Dragon is so good and not sweet, and sat by the windows enjoying the view. We did not try the snake vodka, something about a dead snake soaking in vodka just doesn’t seem appealing. We were seated early, at around 8.10pm. The service was great, we were there for hibachi but we ordered 2 appetizers, the shumai and beef skewers. Both of our apps were great, the sauce on the beef skewers was delicious. The shumai order only had 3 pieces, which was a very small order, but it was tasty. We each ordered the NY Strip Steak and Lobster hibachi entrées. We asked for our steaks to be cooked medium and they were, the chef cut off the fat and threw that out, if you know steak you know that’s where the flavor is, so that was disappointing. The lobster had good flavor and was cooked well. Our chef was not the most fun chef there. 3 tables around us had chefs that were very vibrant, singing to the tables and very interactive. Our chef was not like that, so we missed out on that experience. Also, if it’s your birthday a man comes out wearing a dragon head and sings. It was a fun environment at a beautiful location and the food and drinks were good. As we were leaving at around 10.30pm it seemed like the bar area was reallt quite the party scene with people dancing and having fun. It was a great experience, I’m happy we finally made the 1.5 hour drive to check this place out. We will definitely go back.

Despite the food I give them a 2 because their reservations, hosts and general customer service attitude is probably some of the worst I’ve encountered. After 2 times driving up and being turned away. Not you can wait, it may be an hour, you can wait at bar and see what happens, etc… No — Straight up turned away. By the way each time they only had max 3 tables of guests and at least 5 completely empty tables. On a summer Tuesday afternoon I call to ask for a reservation for 2 people at 8:30pm. Nope we can’t accommodate you. Somehow this works for them, unfortunately it doesn’t work for me. **Update after Mt Fuji response** I called right before I wrote that review. Thursday afternoon 4pm to try and get an 8:30 reservation for 2 again. «Sorry we can’t accommodate you tonight» is the exact answer I received which is why I finally wrote the review.

Despite the fact that we never got the lobster that we ordered, I still had one of the best, if not THE best restaurant experiences I ever had. I visited for dinner with my wife bc she is at the half way mark with her pregnancy(so she is very picky when it comes to food at this point) but let me tell you, everything that we had was perfect. It was our first time ever sitting with another group at a habachi style.(at first I did not want to sit with another group bc I am very picky about personal space, but the host said it goes for a better experience) We were seated at opposite ends of the table, so it was still very personal, and the host was right, it was a great time! We started with the eel(which may I say is the best I ever had), I also had a sweet potato and and avocado roll(from my wife’s plate) which I wasn’t expecting much from, but man these guys know what they’re doing! For our entrees my wife had banzai chicken w/lobster, I had the Mt Fuji fillet with lobster. I wasn’t expecting my wife to eat it as she is pregnant and picky, but she absolutely loved it, she even saved some to eat at home. My steak was cooked perfectly, everything was tasty and full of flavor! Now I say this was the best restaurant experience I ever had bc #1 the food was THE best Japanese food I ever had. #2 our chef Shawn was a funny and was super entertaining ! And despite the fact we never got our lobster, it was over shadowed by everything else! I love this place and will try Sunday brunch when possible!

It’s been a while since we’ve visited — it is a bit of a drive for us, but overall glad we went. My kids LOVED it, and would probably give it five stars, but I think four is about right. The table was a bit sticky — I get it after years of cooking on a grill top right there it’s bound to happen, but I think someone needs to give them a good once over. Maybe twice. Also, it appeared some of the insulation strands(for lack of a better word) was coming out from between where the grill top mets the wood tabletop. In the positive side, staff were really nice, polite, and attentive. The chef was very entertaining and the food was very good. The only thing I would say could have been better was the rice. For some reason it came out a bit bland. Even though it rained and was foggy, we still got glimpses of the fabulous view, and the exterior décor. As I mentioned, my kids were super happy.

I would give 10 stars if I could. I had a less than desirable experience last month on my anniversary. I was contacted by management(Nancy) and agreed to return, which I did last night. Our experience last night was a ten star experience, one I would like to call a ‘world class experience.’ From the moment we stepped in the door, we were treated as if we were the only people in the restaurant. We started with drinks as we waited to be seated staring at the beautiful views of the mountains while being serenaded by the woman on the piano for the evening. It set the tone for what was a truly memorable visit. When our table was ready, we were personally greeted and sat by Yoshi, the Manager. Yoshi’s kindness and attentiveness throughout the evening was amazing and made us feel like we were royalty. Our waiter Daniel was exceptional. He properly took our order, listened, was on top of our drinks and always around when we needed something. We started with chicken gyoza as an appetizer and it was absolutely delicious-perfectly made. My boyfriend tried two locally(nj) brewed beers recommended by the staff which he loved and already told me he would be ordering on future visits. We were also provided with a vegetable roll that had asparagus and avocado in a sweet chili sauce. It was fantastic! For hibachi, I had the filet mignon and my boyfriend the shrimp & chicken combo. Our food was cooked to perfection by our chef, Modi. Modi was hysterically funny throughout the whole meal. He embodied the culture and entertainment flare people come to Mt. Fuji for(aside from the delicious food). The best hibachi chef we have had at Mt. Fuji. Our whole table had a great time laughing together, felt like we were one big family. We LOVED our visit. We can’t thank Mt. Fuji enough for last night’s outstanding visit. Nancy, Yoshi, Daniel & Modi are all truly valuable assets to this restaurant. I hope they remain at this restaurant for many years to come. My boyfriend and I can’t wait to return for all of our upcoming birthdays, celebrations & annual Christmas Eve dinner! Above all, I am so grateful and happy that I was contacted and offered the invite to return. Thank you Mt. Fuji!!!

A must, you have to take a ride and check out the view from this restaurant. It’s like being in Hong Kong or someplace exotic like that. The chef was entertaining the food tastes delicious. Something different to experience. They actually had my favorite which is plum wine a big plus. Love the fact that they asked if anyone had food allergies or didn’t care to have garlic or Pepper or something like that in there dinner. it was fun sitting around the table meeting other people.

One of my favorite Hibachi place in all of the Tristate area. This place is an adventure! First of all, it is a drive upto the middle of Nowhere across the TPZ. Then you arrive at what feels like entering a Samurai castle in feudal japan. Complete with a Red gate! Start the drive up the hill and it hits you. Very awesome Japanese style building, very huge, all wooden structures complete with a wooden bridge and a giant fish pond! Once you enter this place, it feels even more like entering a Samurai castle. Everything is built to feel like you are in Japan. Wood, wood, wood and more wood from floor to ceiling. The owners of this place spared no expense building this restaurant. The dining room is HUGE! Unlike any other spots in the area I have dine at. The menu is very pricey and the combos can set you back a little bit for a dinner for 4 plus drinks! $ 40+ for the Filet/Lobster. I can keep going on and on about the awesomeness of this place, but you have to experience it to get the full awesomeness of this place. To be honest, food is average, but it is an adventure to dine here and makes for excellent photos as well. Only minor downsides are that all vehicles must be valet, and for a casual place, hats are not allowed in the dining area.

Wonderful experience. I took my mother here for Mother’s day on a Saturday night as I heard a lot about this hibachi place. To begin with, it’s literally at the top of a mountain so you can imagine how nice the view is at the top. The entrance to Mt. Fuji is definitely something else. Inside the restaurant is a small dance floor and a bar so there is much to do if you’re waiting to be seated. The staff were very nice people. The wait wasn’t too long considering we made a reservation. We were seated by the window which is more of a private setting so it definitely was better than sitting with strangers in a big table. Food was great and for what we paid it was definitely worth the price. What really made our night though was our hibachi chef who goes by the name of Andy. He definitely is one to remember constantly making us laugh. Kudos to Andy for being an awesome chef. All I can say is that I will definitely be back!

Had a fantastic dinner tonight and a great chef to entertain us. I felt bad for him because it sorta felt like he was a bit of a «slave» with some of his dialogue. But he was funny and the meal was great! Fun night out. Plan a good amount of time… Our dinner was roughly 2.5hrs in length. But great experience.

Had a 5:30 reservation for mine and my boyfriends anniversary. We sat at one of the hibachi tables in the back and had a really entertaining chef, Mido(I think that was his name). We both enjoyed our food and our experience. The chairs were a little too close and I suggest females not wear over a 3 inch heel because my knees didn’t fit under the table.(Had the lean them to the side. The decoration is absolutely beautiful, however, the koi pond looked like it was suffering a bit. I love that this place is situated right in the middle of different mountains. Just don’t stand up as you see the mess of highways outside. I would like to try their brunch in the future as I have heard good things.

My first review as a Unilocal member! I have been to Mt. Fuji many times before when I was a child. It used to be the hotspot to throw your birthday party. Now that I am in college, I decided to check out the old party spot with some of my friends. Unfortunately, I had never been there during lunch and my advice is to always go during dinner. The food is the same regardless, good hibachi. However, the décor and environment takes a hit when the whole place isn’t dimly lit. It just does not look as if they clean the place often enough as you can see the dust floating in the air as it hits the beams of sunshine coming through. The chefs are still great from what I remember. I have to figure out how to throw those eggs into my hat.

This is a response to the business comments: Thanks for you time to respond to this but you could have treat me better when I was there. That was the chance and your hostess blew it. The only reason why I didn’t leave was because my 4 yea old was hungry. I never mentioned in my previous review that this was my second time there and the rudeness and the bad smells were the same. Both times cost me over $ 400 altogether. Very expensive for what you have to offer. If helps, the outside is beautiful but that fish pond also needs to be treated. You do have private hibachi tables. You sat me on one of those the first time I was there and it was the same amount of people. This second time, the restaurant was half full so you thought it would be better to sit me with strangers, even when I asked for a private table. That’s not part of the experience so you shouldn’t try to convince me of that. That’s cost savings for you so one person can cook for 20 people. I saw your comments about lots of people enjoying the place but I have to disagree. You have almost the same amount of people complaining about the five star price and the one star environment. Lots of complaints about the smell as well. Is not just food smell, because that I understand, is old, not cleaned properly smell. Thanks for responding, five stars for that, but there’s so much going on with your place that is not worth expending my money.

Absolutely love this place! Went here for my sisters birthday dinner. Although we had a reservation we did have to wait about a half hour. Luckily they have an awesome bar/sitting area designed for this purpose. Drinks were reasonably priced. Once we were seated our waitress Angelina came around to take our order. She was awesome!!! We all had so much fun with her and our chef! Our whole party enjoyed their food. Personally I had the scallop and shrimp hibachi and it was fantastic. So glad we came here and will definitely be back for future celebrations!

My niece celebrated her 26th birthday here recently! The property is beautiful and the restaurant is too! While waiting for the staff to set up for our large party of 27 people we waited in the cocktail lounge where they had snake infused vodka! Once we sat down at our tables, the fun began! I wish our cook was a little more enthusiastic as the other two tables from our party but he was very sweet and tried his best to make us smile. The group at our table made the best of it since we are already a great group lol I ordered the filet mignon with shrimp which came with miso soup, house salad, veggies, noodles and fried rice. The food was delicious! Im not a huge fan of miso soup but it was pretty good. Id definitely like to come back soon with a smaller crowd to get another experience.

After waiting such a long time waiting to go here, I chose this place to celebrate my 26th birthday a week ago. Booking the event could have been easier. The first woman I talked to seem a little uncertain about how to book such a big party. However, after requesting to speak to a manager, everything went nice and smooth from there. Originally I wanted to get a private room because we had such a big party. Originally my party had 30 people and he tried to talk me into getting the private room(which is a 30 person minimum per room). Luckily as a precaution, I asked what would happen if some people cancel that day(which usually happens with big parties) and according to the manager, my party would have to pay an extra $ 30 for each person who did not show that day for the private room. I went ahead and just booked regular table seating. He also said that if that day 30 people did come and the room was not being used, I could get the private room, so we just left it at that. To get there, a few of of used a limo, however, my other friends that drove there on their own told me that they only had valet parking available. I checked in for my 6:30 reservation at 6:00 pm and all together I had 27 people. I asked if the private room was being used and he said no. I asked us if he can use it and he said if we did we would need to pay $ 30 per person who was not there. Idk I think it is just a waste of space for us not being able to use it so once again I declined the private room. Waiting for out tables to be ready, we hung around the bar area/lounge which was very nice! They had a bunch of different cocktails and places to sit. My friends and I were enjoying Saki bombs and snake shots the entire time. Yes, snake shots, as in vodka infused with snakes inside, which was pretty darn cool. Around 7:00pm we were all seated. We had three tables. It was pretty cramped but we managed. For dinner, we started out with sushi rolls before all the fun hibachi stuff began. I personally had eel rolls which were pretty delish. To also complement my meal, I was able to get mini personal bottle of prosecco. The dinner also came with salad, soup and grilled shrimp appetizer. The soup could have had more flavor, but salad and shrimp were fantastic! Two of the tables in my party had cooks that were really fun! Sang, got the party going, did a bunch of tricks and made jokes throughout the meal. I felt bad for one of the tables for my party though, their guys really didn’t do much except for just cook. For the main course I decided to get the teriyaki chicken and filet mignon. It came with veggies, rice, mushrooms and two types of dipping sauces. The entire meal was incredible!!! Literally mouthwatering good. Or for even a better example… you know when your completely full but just keep eating because the food you are having is that amazing? Well that’s the feeling I had. I have been craving to go back for the last week even though I was just there. At the end of our meal, I also had the Banzai celebration where a big giant dragon comes out with the staff and sings happy birthday to you with a pineapple and a candle inside. Now that was pretty sweet! I mean, who wouldn’t like a dragon to sing happy birthday to them!?! Overall, an excellent experience for a foodie who wants to have a nice fun meal. I would recommend this place to everyone but just be careful when you are booking a rather large party.

Just a random eat night out. My friends BF aunt said this place was nice so we just went on a whim. Plus it was a rainy Saturday. This restaurant is located on top of a mountain. The views are beautiful. It really gives you the feel like you are really somewhere in Japan. The décor is regal and classic. The women wear kimonos and their version of those hard slippers with the thong between ur foot. We went as a walk in at 5pm on a Saturday. We opted to take the 30 min wait for a regular table, rather than the 1hr wait for the hibachi table. They gave us one of those buzzers that light up when it’s ur turn. We had 1 drink in the lounge. The drinks were awesome. I had a perfect pear Bellini and my 2 friends had the strawberry Mt. Fuji margarita and her BF had a lotus blossom. The atmosphere in the lounge is cute. They have a piano and someone serenades and plays while ur waiting for ur table. Our waitress KAYLA was great. When we decided to order another round she remembered what we wanted without us having to tell her. I love that from my wait person. When she was getting our drinks together our buzzer went off and she told us she would bring it to the table. We didn’t wait long for them. Soon as we got settled at our table she was there with the drinks. I appreciate great service. We tipped her well. Once we were seated, the view we had was awesome. Also they have hibachi grills located all throughout the restaurant, so even though we weren’t directly in front of one, we were still close enough to see them cook our food. U can see the highway out the window. I’m sure if u reserve at the right time, you will b able to catch a beautiful sunset. We had the popcorn lobster roll as an appetizer! It was so good we ordered another. One friend had a spicy salmon crunch roll, but we were expecting more crunch. For our entrees I had the lobster and shrimp hibachi, my friend and her BF had the chicken and filet mignon hibachi, the other friend had salmon hibachi. She is allergic to shellfish. They made sure to cook all the meats and salmon before making my lobster and shrimp. Everything was really wonderful. The only thing about sitting at a table is if ur waiting for the other tables close to u to order that will b the delay of ur food. I’ll definitely be dressing up and bringing the BF here for a romantic date night!
