Food here was never great. Recently on a couple of occasions we got spoiled tofu in a disgusting brown sauce. Also their curry sauce is the worst tasting. Greasy lo mein. The garlic sauce is good. Person at the front desk is a rude ****olé.

This place was packed on Christmas Day. We waited about 20 minutes for a table but the staff worked like crazy to get tables cleaned and patrons seated as fast as possible. My wife and kids really enjoyed the chicken and corn soup for two. We then had steamed veggie dumplings which were great and appeared to be made in house. The cold sesame noodles were good but my wife said they were a bit salty. I really enjoyed them. As for the main course, I enjoyed the Generals Tao’s bean curd(I’m a vegetarian). My wife and kids enjoyed the chicken and broccoli. I would say overall, it was above average and a nice sit down Chinese restaurant in town. We will go back.

2 star for the environment. The food is just so-so … I was going to say terrible because they are not authentic, but consider it’s not located in China I think it’s fair.

It’s definitely not gourmet Chinese. Somewhere in between a takeout Chinese joint and a quality family restaurant. But their prices are pretty reasonable and their ambiance is nice. I like their luncheon special offer which is just 6.35 $ and comes with soup, egg roll and rice. Their portions are decent. I like the chicken in garlic sauce, hunan chicken, moo goo gai pan and beef schezuan. Not a great fan of the noodle dishes like lo mein and chow mein. All in all worth the money and would recommend it for takeout.

Nice sit down Chinese restaurant. Service is pleasant and spot on. The food is good not awesome but decent. Delicious fried noodles with duck sauce. The soups are decent. Favorite Is The Moo shu which is really good. There shrimp toast and bbq ribs are delicious. Prices are reasonable and moderate. Somethings are kinda glurpy, but all in all not a bad restaurant.

I don’t have much to say other than that I found the food here mediocre overall. I enjoyed the dumplings and egg roll that I had as an appetizer, but I did not enjoy my meal. I ordered beef and scallions and found the meat to be chewy to the point of inedible and the whole thing to be lacking flavor. It’s possible that I ordered wrong, but this does not leave me wanting to run back for more. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and courteous.

Food us very good, but if you get takeout open the bag and CHECK it there. This is now the 3rd time they left something out. Menus need to be cleaned. They feel so greasy and dirty you want to go wash after ordering.

We have been going to Hunan House for 17 years. It is, in our opinion, the best Cantonese Chinese Restaurant in the area. They have great lunch specials that are very reasonable. Menu includes standard Cantonese Chinese items. General Tso’s Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork or Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, Roast Pork Fried Rice, Lo Mein, Chow Mein, etc. Restaurant atmosphere is great. Very nice and efficient staff. This is also a great place for take out.

Very nice place with attentive service, good food for sit down Chinese. ***The waiter told us that they had complaints that the Kung pow chicken was«too spicy and too many veggies» so they make it bland and with only chicken, peanuts and water chestnuts.*** they will make it the right way if you ask.

Went for dinner with the family(7 adults, 3 kids). The restaurant was empty when we arrived so we were able to be seated right away. We ate rather early, so upon leaving it definitely filled in with more diners. The atmosphere was nice, and they were playing music that was Chinese instrumentals of modern songs which was cool. You get the typical crispy noodles and tea to start, yum. Their menu was average and large. However, there were a couple of house specials that I haven’t seen at other places. For example I had the«Hunan two delicacies» which was shrimp in chili sauce and shredded pork in black bean sauce. It was delicious! I wouldn’t mind if there was more shrimp though :-). For groups they also offer a special which includes soup, appetizers, a designated number of entrees(depending on group size) off of a fixed menu, and ice cream. However, we ordered a la carte since my grandma was a stickler for getting the shrimp in lobster sauce. No complaints were had regarding food, staff or service. Our waiter was even nice enough to take a photo of the table. Will surely return and would recommend to anyone in the area.

This restaurant used to be my favorite, but now it’s just very good, not amazing. Little details like the extra sauce have suffered but still worth a stop if in the area. You won’t be disappointed

The food is quite good, but watch out, they round up the amount of your bill. I questioned this on two occasions. The first time they told me if I objected they would make me pay for the tea bags. The second time I actually showed them the calculator on my phone and they said if I didn’t want to pay what they said it was then I didn’t have to buy from them. He took the food off the counter and we left. And he was super rude. So of you don’t mind that they are charging you more than the menu states, then you’ll like this restaurant. But if you don’t like deception you won’t want to eat there.

We love the hot and sour soup here. Other food is decent — nothing that will knock your socks off, but not bad by any means. If you’re craving consistently cooked Americanized Chinese food, this is fine for takeout or eat-in.

We recently moved to the area, and tried Hunan House for the first time today. It was fantastic. The first thing we noticed was that they have those big, somewhat greasy fried noodles on the table. Those are so much better than the narrow, dry ones you get at some Chinese restaurants. The duck sauce is delicious too. I started with wonton soup which had a very rich, flavorful broth. My husband started with scallion pancakes and he said they were very good. Entrees: Beef with snow peas: it also had bok choy and bamboo shoots, in a brown sauce. The beef was very tender, and the veggies were fresh and crisp. The sauce wasn’t oily or salty, just very flavorful. Ginger chicken: this was one of their specials. It was very good but if you’re not a big fan of ginger, stay away from this one. It consisted of chicken, green beans and tons of ginger in a very ginger-y sauce. We also had pork fried rice, which was deee-lish! Lots of roasted pork, scrambled egg and onions. The portions are very generous here, and the waiters are all really friendly. We’ve definitely found our go-to Chinese restaurant.

This is your best bet for solid Chinese food in East Windsor. You may be tempted to go to Little Szechuan instead – and they do have a killer egg drop soup. But I find them to be much less consistent having grown up eating there a ton and having gone back there recently to give it another try. The hot and sour soup is very nice, and if you want to go a little easy on the sauce they can put everything on the side. Their shrimp is flavorful and they do a mai fun noodle that is pretty much devoid of greasy-ness. The people are also extremely nice.

While driving back to Philly from NYC we took a detour to escape the holiday traffic and wound up eating a GREAT Chinese-American(Old Skool) dinner. Our 7 year old loved the steamed dumplings(very tasty ginger sauce) and I loved the steamed shrimp with brocolli, snow peas and string beans. Service was AWESOME. DH was less impressed with the General’s Chicken — it was fried(as usual) but greasy and according to him, not spicy enough. He rates this place 3 stars — my 7 year old said 5. I honestly feel that 4 stars is perfect. Very friendly and clean. If I lived near here, we’d be back soon! Nice prices, too — Dinner for 3 was about $ 46.
