Wonderful little shop that is oddly enough attached to a big ol’ grocery store. We had some great Cold Brew here on our way to St. Louis. We got the sense that a coffee shop this good is probably the first of its kind in such a rural area like this. Hope it catches on and sticks around!

I lived in the area growing up as a kid, but this was my first visit to Nudge since its opening just 4 months ago. The ambiance is really mellow, and it’s a nice spot to get your hands on an old typewriter like you’ve always wanted and read the paper and watch the world go by. The décor is kind of industrial and resourceful, and the service is really friendly. As for the beverages, the traditional macchiato I consumed was well-presented, but pretty mediocre otherwise. The consensus of the group I went with was 3 stars for the coffee, 4 stars for the atmosphere(this guy rounds up).

Seriously, it could change your life! No. Seriously. I have been a tea drinker for 45 yrs and now they’ve got me actually buying whole beans and grinding them! I used to always think that anything but a blended coffee drink from a drive through was way too bitter, then I met Nudge Coffee. My friends, it’s not bitter. It’s…it’s…it’s unexplainable. I understand why people get addicted to coffee now and when I say coffee I’m not talking about that nasty swill you buy in the grocery store coffee isle. Please don’t touch that nasty stuff, it’s not even remotely in the same family. It’s almost obscene that it shares a name with this amazing elixir that The Nudge sells. Plus it’s a super cool space filled the baristas that truly love their craft… and it’s totally a craft people. They are micro-roasting those beans right there for all to see… and smellllll… ahhh, the smell. It’s worth the stop. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I stopped here every day of my annual visit to Highland. I’m so grateful that there’s finally a good coffee shop in town. I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Nudge could hold its own against Starbucks, Peet’s, or anything else we have out here. Great place!
