HTC is a relatively new establishment that is trying to make a go of it in this tough economy. I have no idea about their catering capabilities, or lack there of, but I can say the food they serve is very tasty. The prices are just a tad bit on the pricey side. The owners have been very supportive of the community and charity events, so I am happy to give them a good review. The ribs are really good and the sauce is an original recipe. The pulled pork bbq sandwich is really good and uses a family, NC style, sauce.

I can’t wait to go back for lunch! After a dismal lunch at Smokin Hot in Glenwood, we decided to treat ourselves to some ice cream having read that Hidden Treasure was serving Moorenko’s Ice Cream(I am currently obsessed with their Salted Caramel with Pralines flavor). The terrifically friendly staff was step one in making lunch a distant memory but what really did it was the 1 – 2 punch of Moorenko’s ice cream with a delicious apple blossom pastry. It was a miracle I had any room at all for pastry after eating tasting spoons of every flavor of ice cream they had, an exercise that turned out to be entirely unnecessary because the guy behind the counter was more than happy to offer ice cream pairing suggestions. Next time we will skip the lousy BBQ and start with lunch, then ice cream at Hidden Treasure.

Please Read Before You Use These People’s Services. If You Have A Small Budget — Forget Them!!! I contacted these people on the recommendation of a friend. It was to be the most horrible error that I have made in my life recently!!! I am a bride-to-be that has a modest budget. I had a previous caterer who explained that she would have been unable to provide the food and catering services for the budget that I had. Throughout this process of trying to find a caterer, I had been enlightened to the fact that there are two types of caterers… those that are full-service, and those that are not. Hidden Treasures Café are NOT full service caterers. Upon contacting Gerald Joseph, I had explained what occurred with the previous caterer that I was planning to use, and he agreed that he could provide his services for the budget I had. He even prepared a menu! However, I should have known that despicable things were afoot when the communication was poor. He wouldn’t return calls or email. My attempts to get in touch with him by phone went either unanswered or met with an excuse why he would be unable to speak with me there and then. Leaving a voice message was useless. When I met him, he even promised to provide an alternative menu, which I NEVER got! Upon finally getting in touch with him via phone, he expressed to me that he wouldn’t be able to provide his services for the budget that I had, even though initially he said would, that is… unless I was prepared to go over my budget by a significant amount. He even told me that I needed to have at least $ 15,000 if I wanted to have a «nice wedding» as he put it, and proceeded to give me the phone number of a full catering service company that would charge me two — three times as much! I was terribly hurt by this treatment and innuendo, since he made it sound that I was too poor a person to work with. After I cried my eyes out, since I am a very resourceful person, I was able to find another caterer to help me out on my day. They are very professional, responsive and care about their clients needs. I CANNOT and WILLNOT recommend the services of Hidden Treasures Café to anyone! The way Gerald Joseph made me feel, no one deserves that, and that type of treatment!

If pigs could fly, then I wouldn’t have been surprised to enjoy«BBQ pork wings» at the Hidden Treasure Café in Highland. The casual counter joint opened in June 2009, and they’re serving a small but interesting menu at the intersection of Rte 216 and Rte 108. This is the intersection where you can buy Boarman’s crab cakes and sausage. Hidden Treasure adds sandwiches, salads, and sweets served for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This is an assertive kitchen that wants to serve you fish tacos, salads with cranberries and bleu cheese, or a Tuscan wrap with chicken, spinach, and a parmesan pesto aioli. Hidden Treasure also serves the«BBQ pork wings.» The $ 7.25 order comes with a cole slaw sitting next to three sauce-slathered chunks of meat. They actually look like drumsticks — a little bone sticking out of a chunk of meat. It’s tender pork, basically boneless because the bone falls out, with most of the flavor from the sauce. A touch of vinegar. A touch of sweet. I had to talk to the chef, who was having his lunch while I ate my «wings.» The chef said it’s a cut like pork loin with a piece of rib bone. I saw other Web sites(1, 2) that say it comes from the lower leg. Either way, it’s worth a visit — even if you’re driving from Clarksville, Fulton or the Applied Physics Lab. The Highland café fits into the«Maiwand Kabob» style — classy design, counter ordering, and some seats to enjoy your meal. They serve ice cream and a bunch of «penny candies» that they have actually turned into decorations in glass jars on the counter. Very smart look. They even have some outdoor seating with my favorite parking lot view. I’m going back for the cuban panini and the fish tacos. I’ll also check out the ice cream and especially the shakes. They’re open for dinner, so I might wander down for a treat one evening
