Live Blue music on Tuesdays and great craft beers! Worth the drive in from the city!!! Try the meads!

Really cool atmosphere and a good selection of beers and ciders. My favorite drink there is Blue Gold, a cider with blueberry in it. A little sour and very delicious. Another memorable drink I had there was the Blueberry Maple Stout. I’m not a stout guy at all, but I really liked it. Really the only stout I’ve ever liked. If you live in the region, definitely check out Beer Geeks.

Cute little place, lots of different drinks(I went with the Viking Blood), and a nice and relaxed atmosphere to hang out with friends or just grab a drink on your own. The walls are painted with all sorts of fun characters from our childhoods, so you may enjoy looking at those while you try some beers you have never tried before.

Went on 1÷23÷16 The beers were fantastic. I am so glad they have an offering that pretty much forces you to climb out of your beer comfort zone and try something new and unexpected. This was me and my best friends first visit so we weren’t sure what would happen. It was recommended to us by a co-worker and his brownie points went way up after this :-) It was the first time we had tried mead and it was surprisingly tasty and smooth. The bartenders were friendly and funny. Even the other patrons were awesome. Jason was a great«host» and I absolutely love the art on his arms(The work of the fabulous Aaron Peters of Bugaboo Tattoo). Offerings we tried: Carpet Burn The Hairy Eyeball Mac Daddy (Something) Pear — it was very tart; like a Warheads candy Crème Brulee Blackberry Mead VikingBlod Mead Keep it up, guys! We’ll be back ;-) Oh, and they were playing an awesome WWF(before it was WWE) DVD on the TVs. Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Randy«Macho Man» Savage, Rick Flair… it was fan-geeking-tastic!

Vegan friendly if you ask. Beer geek worthy(no pun intended). Staff is cicirone serving certified. And knowledgeable on beer. Beer selection is local and region based, but always has some hard to find gems in the mix. The carpet is disconcerting but the space is pretty badass otherwise. They have food now, perfect drinking food. tacos and the like.

I absolutely love this place. Amazing craft beer on draft and in bottles as well as a wonderful selection of craft meads and ciders. Tuesday night live Blues… outstanding show with very talented artists. Really nice and knowledgeable staff. It’s great having craft beer with people that appreciate quality over quantity.

LOVE this little hole in the wall craft beer bar. There’s always something new to try on the menu which is a good and bad thing(if you have something you really like the keg probably wont last long). They also have a variety of local bands come through. Their food menu is a step above bar food, their short rib taco is bomb. There’s also a variety of board games and cards. It’s easy to kill an entire night there with good food, brews, and plenty of games to keep you busy.

Saw the great GREAT Coco Montoya at this place tonight. On the one hand it was a blast to get to see one of the world’s elite blues guitarists on the other tho there were 50 customers in the place tops. A guy this good should draw thousands. Beer Geeks has a corner bar feel for sure(even tho it’s not on a corner but in the middle of a strip mall.) I wanna sincerely compliment the door man who seemed like he was the owner too for booking an «internationally known blues great» and also the bartender who when I asked for a 7up said there wasn’t anything close to that so I asked to just charge me a beer but pour a glass of h20 w/some ice please, pointed out a bottled water dispenser in the corner. No charge.(Did tip same as a couple beers tho just sayin’.) Some tough looking hombres sitting at the bar but they let a squirrelly looking out of towner(from way up on the NW side of Chicago) enjoy authentic roadhouse blues. and it was as good a set of blues I’ve ever heard. Ever get a chance PLEASE check out Montoya’s stuff — lefty strat with touch & tone makes even the quote unquote best seem VERY lacking. Strong pipes & humble & w/a solid band too. Will keep an eye out for future Beer Geeks bookings even close to CoCo M’s level but honestly I don’t know how a road band playing to such small(but supportive if not all that enthusisastic) crowds makes ends meet. Talk about living the blues …

So many reviews mentioning the excellent beer, cider, and mead selection here, but the food is no slouch either. There’s a lot of great menu items as well, including a chicken and waffle sandwich with bacon and a Korean short rib taco with kimchi slaw, all very delicious and reasonably priced. No disrespect to the the pizza joint or the burrito place surrounding Beer Geeks, but the food is definitely on par with the drink selection. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu while enjoying a perfectly paired hard cider.

Chill place. Amazing drinks so far. Never had mead until now. Delicious. Cool atmosphere. Down to earth owner. Knows his brews. Definitely would come back when in the area.

Very legit, definitely unique. Had the Korean Bulgogi taco w/kimchi slaw,(little too much cilantro but good otherwise) and the Vikings Blood mead to drink, very sweet, most excellent! Going to get a bottle for home.

I was very disgusted by this establishment, if you want to call it that. There was a movie playing which had explicit nudity, violence, gore, bullying… etc. I would guess this movie is MA even worse than rated R. As I was looking around, I could see people with the same facial expression as me. I went over to the counter and talked with the owner. I asked him in the most polite way possible if the movie could be changed or at least the TV by all of our friends be turned off. He replied, «If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it.» and then waved his hand at me to get away. Being shocked from this answer, I asked him again. He replied, «nope»! Another person got up to ask him and he replied the same way. I wouldn’t have been so adamant, but this movie was BRUTAL. Full on pornographic scenes, people’s heads getting stomped… etc. Enough to make one throw-up. It’s a shame that the owner acted in such a way as he did. I liked this place until I got a wiff of his attitude. He also said they don’t serve 3 Floyd’s there anymore. «We don’t serve that crap here. You can buy it anywhere.» NEVERGOINGBACK.

Favorite place to have drinks. Different beer almost every day, great variety. Love how you can bring your own food in because they don’t serve food. Also a great place to go with a group of friends. They have a big section of games you can play or you can ring your own. Love it there!

If you are looking for good craft beer, along with a nice selection of ciders and meads, make sure to check out Beer Geeks in Highland IN. 20 rotating taps along with beer engine most weekends. Tuesday night is the best entertainment value in NWIN. From 7 – 10 pm Chicago Blues makes it’s presence felt in the cozy venue. The sound is superb, and the talent is awesome. Regulars are the Kinsey Report, Ronnie Baker Brooks, and Funky Mojo Daddy. You will not be disappointed with the Tuesday Bluesday line up.

Cool Chicago hipster vibe. It’s a dive but a cool dive. Good service and free samples. Craft beers are changed constantly so you’ll always try something new. Great place. Enjoy it. Relatively cheap prices make it a go to place.

A group of friends went to Beer Geeks because we’d heard great things. Also for beer. Because beer. And while the beer lived up to the expectations(Zombie Killer cider is amazing) I was still not blown away by the place. The service was just okay. The music was very meh. I was a little underwhelmed by it all. Again, the beer itself was amazing. And I’ll certainly go back if I’m in the area, but it’s not worth the drive from Valpo to Highland.

If you love beer, don’t go to any other bar. This is the only true beer bar in Northwest Indiana. They have 20 rotating taps, meaning there’s always something new to try. They offer smaller glasses of most beer so you can try a few without getting hammered. They are super knowledgeable about beer, but not snobby about it. They’re more than happy to help you find something that suits you. there’s board games for entertainment, good music and usually an old movie playing on the TV’s. They do not serve food but are bookended by a Mexican restaurant and a pizza place which you’re allowed to bring in I have absolutely no reason to not recommend this place to everyone I know.

I am turning into such a fan of meads. Beer geeks turned me onto them and they have a great selection. Their ciders are alright, but I prefer the meads over them. Very small place so come early enough. They said they are opening another location at the old Alaskan pipeline at 30 and Austin. Whoo hoo!
