Found at , I thought I would receive prompt, quality service. I had smoke damage to my home and needed it remedied. I was forced to work with a new employee who had no idea what he was doing. He was professional at first, but unable to provide me answers to basic questions about the estimate, services performed, and later became defensive with me when I questioned why he was unable to deliver to me an explanation of services. After this experience I involved the owner. While the owner was nice, he also defended the fact that the representative I was working with was new to the job instead of offering for someone else to work with me. Nobody explained the smoke removal process or associated risks when I asked. I found out at the last minute that all occupants of my home would need to vacate during the entire procedure. After the smoke removal, we were further inconvenienced when we found that harsh chemicals had not been fully removed from the home. The company would need to return in order to remove the chemicals. Instead of working with us on our schedule(this service was willing to gain our business by working 24⁄7 around our schedules), they refused to come back to fix their mistake at our convenience. They insisted that someone from the house would need to take time off of work to accommodate their regular business hours. We were outraged. After the mistake was fixed the odor remained. There were footprints left behind. Not a happy customer.

I had RGC come to my house to quote us on some basement water damage. They provided a bid and had me sign a document so that it could be sent off to my insurance company to see if the insurance company would provide full payment for this bid. After a few days and a few phone calls with both this remediation company and my insurance company, I felt this was not the type of person that I wanted to have work on my home. He wasn’t trustworthy or straightforward.(It turns out my intuition was right on!) So, I let him know that I wasn’t going to be using his services for this project. A few days later I got a bill for the $ 489 stating that because I signed the document, I had to pay a specified % of the estimate. I called him to dispute this saying that I was certainly not going to pay him for providing an estimate for work. No work was done. And my signature was only supposed to allow him to contact my insurance company. Not hold me liable for $ due. So, he turned this balance over to a collections agency and this delinquent debt is still on my credit report. All this over work he didn’t do– just an estimate.

We had a great experience with RGC yesterday with a seriously not-great issue. We had a mess to clean up after a sewage back-up problem in our pipes in the basement. They responded to my Saturday-morning call quickly and had a team out within two hours. They also had us look into our insurance to see if we could make a claim — which we could! The guys they sent were extremely professional and the lead guy dealt well with my extreme germ-phobia. Overall, a great experience.
