I just had a ciabbata twist and OMG! It was warm and flakey and crunchy. I loved it. I also want to let people know that the new(ish) people running the store now are super nice and always friendly. The other people who thought you should thank them for allowing you to buy stuff from them are long gone.

This is my 100th review, so I had to make it local; a business I love and visit frequently — Breadsmith, Highland Park. Here’s what you need to know: Freshest and tastiest bread in the North Shore and beyond. Period. About $ 5/loaf, with a very good sweet and savory selection to choose from. I patronize Breadsmith 1 to 2 times each week of the year. It not as cheap as the grocery store, and less expensive than Panera, but far superior to both. They have a good loyalty program where every 11th loaf you buy is free. I’m on a first name basis with the employees and owners after all these years, and they are customer focused, guaranteeing satisfaction. Fresh bread is an incredible thing, and to have the luxury of having a very reasonably priced brilliant bakery next door is something to cherish. We will continue to patronize this business forever. Great job!

The quality of the breads here really speak for themselves. Unlike the mass produced bread you find in grocery stores, each one of these breads has distinct characteristics which make them instantly recognizable from other breads. So far, for all the items I’ve tried — they’ve all been consistantly good or better. In particular, the scones, brioche rolls, challah, french pan, banana chocolate chip dessert bread, apple pie bread, cinnamon bread, and coffee cakes really stand out for me. The only problem is once you’ve had this bread, all other bread seems really flat by comparison.

A must avoid if you are in the area. Bad service, mediocre bread at best, and horrible service/people.
