This used to be the best Winn Dixie I had ever visited but they have really gone downhill. They renovated it when they heard Publix is coming to town but the store is just a hot mess. I don’t know if they were restocking the evening I went but the produce dept had old produce and was awful. Their bakery was similar. I never see the same people working in there so they must not keep people. The staff even looks a mess in store t– shirts. Don’t think I will be frequenting it much anymore and I was a loyal customer for ten years.

I really like the Winn Dixie in high springs. The store is clean, they have good prices, and usually have what I am looking for. When Publix was coming to this area everyone said that would be it for Winn Dixie. Well, I’ll be the first to say I hope they stay and are here for a good long time. They have more organic foods than other stores in the area and have stepped up selection nThe employees are friendly and always helpful. The customers can be a eclectic bunch, but they are always friendly and don’t try to run you down in the parking lot.

Customer service sucks. Not enough cashiers and the ones who are there seem to not want to work(they are to busy talking to each other, their friends in their lines or about their better paying jobs). There is hardly anyone around when we need help. And the food is terrible. We have seen chicken get returned due to it being rotten only to be repackaged and put back, last night I picked up «fresh shrimp» got home and put it right away. I open it today and it is ROTTEN. I’m trying to no throw up all over the kitchen as I’m talking to the manager. On top of that the label was wrong stating I bought tuna stakes. I don’t care how close they are WEWILLNEVERSHOPHEREAGAIN.

Has no peaches, strawberries, plums, or bags of oranges today. What’s going on? May need to drive to publix.

Winn Dixie has been extremely updated from 2014! Wow! Inside the flooring is much better and it’s a lot cleaner and has a better atmosphere. Plenty of parking and other stores in the complex like Bealle’s Outlet, a chinese place to grab delicious food, and a Dollar General next to the area. There’s others, but those are some.

The store remained unchanged for years until a Publix began to be built in in Alachua. Suddenly, the store is modernized. Wonder why? What has not changed is the customer service. You have to watch your receipt carefully because you’ll be over-charged if you don’t. I was in the 15 item or less line today behind a woman with over 30 items. The cashier was so busy gossiping about her other job and how the tips were divided that, even after the lady with the large order was ready to leave, I was still ignored while they continued to chat. As I was leaving, another customer asked me when the Publix store will be opening. I said, «I don’t know, but as soon as it does, I’ll never come to Winn-Dixie again.» She replied, «Me too! I can’t wait for Publix to open!» Go here because it’s the only grocery store in High Springs and you have no choice. Once there is a choice-go there!

The store is clean and the employees are nice and helpful. The store was recently remodeled and looks very nice inside. I shop here because I live nearby. Shop the ads for buy one get one and other specials. Get a Winn Dixie reward card. I save 15 to 20% at Winn Dixie vs. other competitors on my weekly grocery bill. Fuel perks add up quickly for commuters like me. It ends up really helping my budget. Winn Dixie store brand items are of good quality. You can save a bit and still enjoy a quality product over name brand. The only item I’m not fond of is their salsa. If you read or care about any part of my review then read and heed this. This store does a poor job of policing outdated produce/products/meats etc especially seafood. I consistently find expiring grocery items every time I shop here. Check expiration dates! If it looks like a thunderstorm don’t park in the middle of the lot. The drain can’t handle all the water and you will have to walk through 2″ of water to get into your car. Firsthand experience. Let’s try this by department: Produce — Pretty good, usually a good selection that is relatively fresh. Watch dates on name brands closely for expiration. Beer/Wine — Really Good. All the domestics and lots of specialties and trendy IPA’s. Competitive pricing. Really good wine selection considering the location. Deli — Hit and Miss. I’ve seen rotisserie chickens so tired from a heat lamp they resembled 80 year old retirees in Naples that never leave the beach. Super brown saggin’ and baggin’ baby. Some of the salads/specialties/meats look old on occasion too. The fried bar is usually up to date and good. They have many different flavors of fried chicken wings and they are usually really good. Seafood — The fresh is a risk here. I’ve purchased bad salmon and flounder that had expiration dates 7 days later. Just do your self a favor and buy frozen. I won’t buy fresh seafood here anymore. Meat and Poultry — Pretty Good. I’ve found some nice steaks, great chicken, roasts, etc. Dairy — Well Done. Milk/Eggs/Cheese great selections and generally fresh. General Grocery — A-OK. The shelves are well stocked with the usual items that you need in boxes/cans/etc. Frozen Foods — Really Nice. There’s a broad selection of most everything. I find great BOGO deals frequently in frozen. Specialty Foods — Fair. Mexican aisle has good selections, Asian foods needs more selections. Kosher is near non-existent compared to others. Bakery — Good. Catching the Italian bread right after it comes out is a win. Other breads/cakes/muffins/doughnuts are good too. Watch expiration dates. Liquor Store — Excellent. Embarrassing to admit but I know most employees here on a first name basis. They are kind, helpful, and keep the place well stocked. They also help you find deals and specials run by the distributors. I typically save 2 to 5 dollars per visit shopping here vs. other stores. Pharmacy — Really Good. Scripts are filled quickly and the staff is helpful and courteous. Courtesy Desk — Very Good. Like anyplace else, it moves like greased lightning until the idiot who can’t decide what lottery scratch off tickets they want to purchase gets in front of you. If you made it this far you are either a review trooper or a glutton for punishment. I’m honored to have had your time for this long and thank you.
